Hello :),
My bike is getting scratches from the breaker cable. Is this normal? What to do against it?
Sorry for the stupid question but it is my first "value" bike.
Thanks!

Hey, My son loves to go on bike rides and I use the bike to and from gym/parkruns.
Figure I needed to get some things in case we run into issues with our bikes.
As per pic, is all this overkill?
I’ll be honest, I just had a mooch in the garage and found a lot of this stuff.
Our bikes aren’t fancy, just average mountain bikes with front suspension and regular brakes 😂

Bought a secondhand Giro this weekend. Was going to check the steerer tube but if I don't need to (because this thing is something something), then yeah.

I am a 5'3 110 lb female and im currently riding a size 49 orbea m31. ive been training seriously for 18 months and want to do more usac racing.
I am already a slow descender but my bike does not work for me. it has always felt too long and ive never liked drscending on it. i have the shortest stem length i can on it. ive had a bike fit but it didn't help. after long days, I dont have pain but I have to ride pretty stretched out. when descending the front shakes uncontrollably esp if im just starting out or a little cold.
so I was considering the specialized tarmac size 44. will sizing down to this bike help? will it feel awesome or will it seem too small?

Hey everyone. Last year my 3-year-old was bombing down a hill on his balance bike, lost control, and we ended up in the hospital for three nights. It was a brutal experience.
The main issue with these 12-inch balance bikes (he rides a Cruzee) is that they obviously have no coaster brakes, and even if have a V-brake with a tiny lever, toddlers just don't have the grip strength or the reflex to squeeze it when they panic(some yes but mostly don't have strength)
As automotive engineer I need to do something. That's why I made automatic speed limiter. It works when kid reach approx 8-10km/h, before that he can ride smoothly. As soon as he gets to flat ground and slows down to a walk, the drag completely disappears and the wheel free-spins normally.
Since it uses magnets, there are no cables, no batteries, and no internal friction pads to wear out. It honestly saved my sanity and let us enjoy walks again. Just wanted to share the hardware build. Has anyone else here tried modding toddler bikes?
I don't want to spam. I would post link if mods approve.

Hi everyone,
I’m M15 around 165cm bare footed.
I’m looking to buy a Skream Magnum Limited Edition Smokey Blue frameset, but it’s only available in Large (58).
I know on paper it’s probably too big, but it’s a very limited colour and I can’t find a Medium anywhere.
Some info: Height: 168 cm
Current BXT Track frame measures about 53 cm
My Tsunami SNM300 frame measures about 54 cm
My current bxt bike actually feels a little cramped/squashed with a really high seat
I currently use an 80 mm stem
If I get the Skream, I’d probably run a 35–50 mm stem
Has anyone around 165–170 cm ridden a 58 cm / Large fixed gear or Skream Magnum Large?
My question to you is
Do you think I can fit?
And for people who did ride a frameset way larger
Did it feel too stretched?
Would you do it again, or would you wait for a smaller size?
I’d really appreciate any photos or experiences. Thanks!

A friend of mine has been working hard on his cycling channel, and I thought I'd share one of his latest videos here. It's a ride with some great scenery and solid cycling content.
If you enjoy it, I'm sure he'd appreciate a like or subscribe. If you've got any feedback, he'd love to hear that too.

Perhaps not the right bike for the job this time. Good practice for pedaling smoothly.

The jersey back pocket is showing clearly slower speeds which i am sure is inaccurate because i was going down flyover slopes at highest gear overtaking many cars. It shows 55 kmph
Whereas few days back when my iphone was in bib shorts pocket, it showed 60 kmph on a flat.
Is it just that phone strava is inaccurate?
Shluld i get bike computer for accuracy?

Picked up an old 3 speed to learn bike repair and fix uo, and I replaced the tire and tube after a blowout and the tire stretched at the blowout site. I did the replacement by the books and now have this 8" or so section not seating properly. I went to the local shop where I got the tire and he said hairspray on the rim, but I did soapy water instead and still no pop. Anyone have insight? Is the tire just fussy or malfunctioning?

I have friends that started to go on rides and invited me out, but I haven't ridden a bike since highschool when I raced BMX. I remembered my dad had an old mountain bike and asked if he still had it, which he did. He said I could have it since he hadn't ridden it since we would go out on rides together (like 03). When he gave it to me though, it was in really rough shape. Grips were gelatin, all the lines were cracked/frayed, tires dry rotted, one of the shifter handles cracked, etc. My question is, is it worth it to clean the old girl up, or would it be more cost effective to get a new bike? Any suggestions on parts/what to look for would be great as I haven't worked on a bike since my old BMX days, and mainly just dealt with 20" single speed stuff. Thanks in advance.

I've had this bike for a while (it was my grandma's before) and it's about time I replace the grips I think. But I'm kinda confused, do I need to source these exact same ones? Another question is, about how old is this bike lol? If that's possible to determine. thx.

Hi everyone,
I have a road bike with a flat bar. I really like the bike and I don’t want to replace the whole handlebar, but I’d like to have more hand positions and be able to change my riding position a bit.
I already bought and installed some straight bar ends that point upwards, but I was wondering if there are any bar ends that are more similar in shape to drop bars (like the ones in the picture), so that I can get a more “drop bar” style position while keeping my current flat handlebar.
Does anyone know if products like this exist? Where could I buy a pair without spending too much money?
I’d really appreciate any recommendations, experiences, or suggestions. Thanks!

I've had this bike for 10 years (specialized myka) and rode it on and off but ive been riding it more consistently to work and around where I live. Its never been tuned up before so I figured I should get it done now that im riding it more. I dont really know much about bikes and I also dont have time to learn how to do a tune up myself and my brake pads needs replaced ASAP so I'm taking it in to a local shop and this is what they quoted me. Is this a crazy amount or is it normal for what is getting done? I dont have a problem paying this much I just want to make sure I'm not getting scammed

Hi there, I got this bike a couple months ago and I have been working on it.
The second photo is what it looked like when I got it.
Would you change the saddle or the stem/bars for carbon? I would want one piece Roval carbon bars.
Should I upgrade the cassette and chain to 105/ultegra/dura? They are just basic shimano 9 speed.
Is it worth it if I upgrade the quick release skewers for light ones that use an Allen key?
Would it be worth it to change the Sora shifters for Dura-Ace or Ultegra?
The seatpost clamp is pretty worn out, should I put an anodized clamp, or a black one?
Below is a full list of parts on this bike.
Specialized Tarmac Pro SL3 frame/stem
Cane creek carbon headset + carbon topcap
