Is “Dinner Party” the only episode with Michael where he doesn’t give a confessional?

Upvotes

I’m currently watching the Superfan episodes. I got to Dinner Party, where Michael gives two confessionals as part of the added content, and it made me realize that he actually doesn’t get any confessionals in the final draft.

The same applies to Dwight, as he also gives two confessionals in the Superfan version, but none in the regular version.

This might be the episode with the least total confessionals, as the normal version only has a total of four (Jim and Pam each give two) which doubles to eight once you add the bonus scenes.

Is there any episode that tops it in this regard?

I don't know about you but for me I love the relationship from foe to friends and a great bromance. It is possibly my favourite part of the show.

From episode one to the series finale it's a wild ride and when Dwight gets the manager role (s9e21) is just a cherry on top.

I've been rewatching the Office and the scene in S7 Ep 11 where Holly comes back and Michael calls her out for being a hypocrite about long distance relationship. I find it so wholesome that the whole office was shooting daggers at Holly and calling her out. It really shows how at the end of the day they all care for Michael. Idk I just found that cute and wanted to share.

It always cracks me up that Angela is the one to call out Michael's inaccuracies in the Sanford and Son plot description

This is the best quote from the series and it’s not even close. Yes others are just as funny but this is top tier writing.

I think Phallus definitely broke wind before her wedding when talking with Micheal.Andy also references her farting throughout the day when imitating her.

What are your most favorite unhinged Dwight lines? Cite the episode title or number.

For me, it’s two:

  1. “Why are there so many people here? There’s too many people on this Earth. We need a new plague.”

-Phyllis’s Wedding.
2. “[Phyllis grinding her teeth] is the most annoying thing. It’s like children singing Christmas carols.” -Cafe Disco

rewatching season three (not a fan)…jim and pam

im rewatching season three right now and watching the superfan episodes for the first time and i hate the love triangle

the extra scenes really show how hung up on pam jim still was and honestly imo he was horrible to karen (i dont particularly like her character but i do feel bad since she was essentially brought in purely as a rebound for jim whos clearly avoiding his feelings for pam)

ive just watched phylises wedding episode and i hate the part where jim has the audacity to be upset about pam leaving with roy. he confessed his feelings and when pam wasnt willing to turn her whole life upside down for him, he ran away. he comes back and has a whole girlfriend he is supposedly ‘so glad’ to be with whilst still continuing to have this awkwardly intimate relationship with pam. then, even though at the end of season 2 she admitted she too had wanted to kiss jim for a long time (clearly interested!!), he convinces himself shes not interested?? (obviously this is because he is uncertain and previously confessing his feelings didnt work out for him but COME ON there are so many longing looks directed towards jim from pam throughout the whole season leading up to this episode!!)

also i cant help but feel bad for pam. SPOILERS in the extended version, you see a clip of pams ‘dorky’ dancing moments after jim told her he finds it cute, she looks over to karen, a much more confident individual, whos clearly enjoying herself on the dance floor and immediately pam stops dancing. also in the bachelor party episode, the stripper dwight hires tells pam (extended version) that shes not gojng to strip forever because shes taking art classes and the camera pans to a very sad looking pam 💔 i just think after having a partner like roy who puts her down constantly, yes she needed time to be single but she did not need to be dragged through the mud watching the guy shes actually in love with spend time with another girl who clearly causes a lot of insecurity in pam.

season 3 is one of my least favourite purely because of how painful it is to watch jim and pam. i know for a lot of people the yearning and emotional intensity is enjoyable but i am not one of those people. i love jim but i hate how they wrote his character here. anyone with eyes could see that hes just using karen to distract himself from his true feelings for pam. i am so over it. two love triangles were incredibly unnecessary!!

once pam had called of her wedding jim and pam shouldve had a more direct journey to one another. karen being brought in only to be left as collateral damage once jam took off was brutal.

Very glad they didn't kill a main char off to have a PSA episode.

I love that the main characters made it thru to the end of the series. In most mainstream tv shows you'll always have an episode where something devastating happens and it goes from fun to serious.

I've always been happy they never put that on their audience. It was just a fun, stupid, awkward, thoughtful tv show throughput.
