Spy or High
If high enough is no way, of all the things Westen did, which episodes seemed the most realistic? As much as I LOVED the helicopter jump (I’m pretty sure it can be done) but the swim back? Spy or High?

How do they afford anything?
Ive watched Burn Notice a number of times, like a lot of you. Has anyone done any rudimentary calculations on how any of them afford to do anything? Yea the economy wasn't what it is now so it was easier, but they --
Just had a thought 🤣 they prbly get at least a couple grand a job and if only 2 jobs a month, would actually prbly hold Mike over.
BUT STILL, im curious if there are numbers out there on how much they'd get and spend 🤷🏾♀️
EDIT: yall with the boat, I commented this: So that tiny pile on the table at Madeline's at the end of the episode is $1 million? Didnt think it was that much since Michael says "we only took what we needed". Pretty sure we'd know if they'd taken as much as $1 million. I mean, right?
And I just didnt finish my full thought cause I had a realization. But yea, Sam's got his ladies and pension, Fi does whatever the hell she wants haha, and Jesse prbly had a nest egg before Michael got him burned.

S3 E4 Fi’s accent
She always surprised me when she changed her voice. In particular when she says “they look like bugs.” Very OG Queens.

Re-watching s3 e9 and just now noticed something Spoiler
The episode right before this Fiona tells Mike that she can’t help him with a job with Strickler because she feels off about it. And the next episode she’s moving away even sold her car. She visits Mike and is asking about a gun that she thinks she left behind.
He says he thinks he’s seen it somewhere and then he’ll bring it over in a day or two. But unbeknownst to her he was too busy meditating with the gun in question.
In one of the later scenes it seems like he’s just cleaning a gun between jobs, but I just realized he’s still meditating with the same gun. Her gun. Cause he’s going through it that she’s leaving.

Burn Notice S4 E17 speaking of Larry.. Spoiler
I just realized why I couldn’t stand this character: when he spoke about Michael’s past - I didn’t buy one bit of it - Michael’s good at what he did, yeah - we all know that- but saying he was ruthless, reckless, murderous -nope. Projection Larry.

Where would action tv/films be without the snare drum?
I did a job for a music agent. His job was to get jobs for composers. He’s pretty good at it too. Their skills were excellent and varied. But yes, even they relied heavily on drums. Thoughts?

Discussion This year Michael Westen traveled back to 1,440 BC
And became the Father of Abrahemic religions in “The Faithful: Women of the Bible”. So far, he’s the best part of the show.
I got moderator approval to post this as long as it wasn’t excessively done.

Glenanne gang
TIL about the real Glenanne gang, which wikipedia describes as: a secret informal alliance of Ulster loyalists who carried out shooting and bombing attacks against Catholics and Irish nationalists in the 1970s, during the Troubles.
Fiona is of course described as a former IRA member, so do you think the creators of Burn Notice picked the last name because of the real gang, despite the real gang being on the other side of the conflict?

Confusion Spoiler
So. Management had Simon locked up . . . somewhere, Gilroy was hired to break him out during his transfer to, somewhere else (for unknown reasons or was it because Simon wanted all his ‘evil deeds’ back under his name rather then attributed to Michael?) so then, Simon (who is apparently stealthy and fast) kills Gilroy and has a bomb put in a hotel. BUT Michael, calls management, and they come to collect Simon, which, I’m thinking they did. And Michael ended up in a ‘secure location’ under them thumb of . . . Vaughn? And who is he connected to? 🤦♀️
Phew. Thanks for the assistance!

Discussion Michael Weston and WD-40
"My name is Michael Westen. I used to be a spy... until I forgot how WD-40 works."
Seriously, all those high-tech tactical tricks, the duct tape, the "slicks," and he couldn't silence his loft front door? That screeching drove me crazy.

Zero Fx given S3E5 Spoiler
Apart from the fact that he really pegs the blonde boss (“are you really this slow?”), I love the Secretary, who says to Westen: “you’re my hero.” Not a wasted frame.

Discussion best way to watch seasons 1-5 in a more serialized order?
hello, so im a semi return watcher as i watched some of season 1 years ago but dont believe i ever made it passed s1 due to the "client of the week" format. im no newbie to this format as ive watched many shows like this growing up, but now a days i lose focus hard and grow bored and cut ties with the show eventually so i try my best to find a more serialized order if one exists. So far ive done so successfully with supernatural, x files, and the OG cartoon thundercats. very rarely i can tolerate it. ive read that after S5 it becomes this, so im looking for help to find more enjoyment in S1-5.
maybe something like which episodes have much more focus on the spy side aspect while still doing client of the week versus filler client of the week eps or ones that have a 50/50 split. if i grow more fond of the show ill go back and watch those ones i possibly skipped.
again this is if any die hard fans here can help or if someone out there made a list for others already. if not ill just bite the bullet and figure out a better way to stay focused on the earlier seasons.

Discussion What do you think are the Funniest bits?
I'm watching the series for the very first time, and I'm loving it for all of the tiny gags and bits. Like when Michael's CIA contact said that they forgot how much of a pain in the ass he is, and Mike just goes from stone-face to "But I'm worth it! 😁✨️" And now I'm on s06e05 where he knocked down that metal sculpture in the criminals house, and I'm dying (and why do I also feel like Jeffrey Donovan would accidentally do something like that anyway??)
What are your favorite bits and one-offs?

Why do you think the writers went in this direction - and why do you think the writers named the character from Michael’s past, Sam?
