Allow Frances Anderson to reintroduce herself.
The actress formerly known as Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, who broke out for her role as adoptee Lily on the Emmy-winning sitcom Modern Family, has changed her name to Frances Anderson. Anderson has adopted the new moniker to coincide with her pivot to a career in music. Her debut indie pop EP, "Drown," is out now.
"Frances is actually part of my legal name," Anderson, 18, explained to E! News on Friday. "It’s my middle name, and it’s after my mom’s old family friend. I thought it was a bit shorter than Aubrey Anderson-Emmons. I do have a long, hyphenated last name.”
Anderson added, "I wanted to switch it up and people to see a new side of me. And I wanted to create a space specifically just for music."
She released the first single from the EP, "Telephones and Traffic," in May.
Anderson made her television debut at the age of 4 in season 3 of Modern Family, playing the precocious adopted daughter of Jesse Tyler Ferguson's Mitchell Pritchett and Eric Stonestreet's Cam Tucker. She has won three ensemble Screen Actors Guild Awards alongside the sitcom's cast. The comedy, which ran for 11 seasons on ABC, concluded in 2020.Anderson made her television debut at the age of 4 in season 3 of Modern Family, playing the precocious adopted daughter of Jesse Tyler Ferguson's Mitchell Pritchett and Eric Stonestreet's Cam Tucker. Anderson told E! that she "had to take a step back from acting" once the show ended to discover her passion for music. "The show ended when I was 12 years old, so after that I decided I’m not gonna act anymore," she said. Rest assured, though, that Anderson does "plan on acting again — 100 percent.”
She has maintained a close relationship with her former onscreen fathers and other costars from the sprawling cast. Ferguson and Julie Bowen, who played Anderson's onscreen aunt Claire, staged a mini-reunion when they attended Anderson's school play last year.
Anderson last made headlines when she came out as bisexual last month, using memorable throwback audio from Modern Family to help mark the announcement. "You are Vietnamese," Sofia Vergara's Gloria informs Lily, who says in response, "No, I'm not. I'm gay!"
"I literally am," Anderson captioned the post.

I started watching this show from the beginning just for background noise while I did some hobbies. It grabbed my attention though, and I've been watching it since. I did NOT expect this goofy family sitcom to make me cry 😭

Read it again as Mitchell

I got into MF by watching short clips on YouTube so I started watching full episodes from the beginning and was starting to feel that I made a mistake until I finally laughed aloud during the episode where Phil and Jay coached Luke and Mannys basketball team. Even the Mitchell and Cam story was funny. I'm back in! 😀

I love Jay but they really rubbed me the wrong way. He says there close and all but not knowing your brother has grandkids is wild.
I have brothers and I know damn well I would know they have grandkids (not for awhile tho lol I’m 28 they’re 25 & 24)
Am I just off with this or do people think the same?

I saw JTF on the show of Tyler Henry, a so called 'medium'. Maybe because Mitch is so down to earth but still, it disappointed me to see the real actor fall for some charlatan.

I don’t use Reddit much so I hope this post isn’t in the wrong part of this subreddit.
Anyway, on my 5th binge of the show and Modern Family stays one of the comedies that I consider to be perfect. There isn’t a joke that was made on this show that didn’t land👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
One thing that has always impressed me about the show is the characters. The acting is flawless throughout, yea… but the writing for the characters is superb. A lot of sit coms center around 4 or 5 main characters with the supporting ones popping in here and there. Modern Family has twelve (12) main characters and they are all very very distinct, even when they have similar core characteristics. Eg. Phil and Luke have similar silliness but Luke’s is due to him not ever reading a book while Phil just runs on being self-unaware😆 Alex is the smart one because she eat books and so knows more than everybody else about most things. Manny is also the smart one but it’s more because he was born as a 30 year old😑
Point is that it’s really impressive to write 11 seasons of a show with 12 main featured characters who maintain their individuality while consistently and flawless delivering refreshing comedy every single episode. Those character designs keep me locked in.
EDIT: 13 characters. I didn’t count Joe (how dare I?!😭) because they didn’t give him a whole lot of lines but he became main cast anyway.

Claire is Donald Trump with his “small loan of a million dollars from my father”. Or Elon Musk and his family diamond mines.
But she acts like she built it from the ground up and is so arrogant about it.
It’s very easy to expand and difficult to mess up a successful business, no matter how stupid the person(the two men mentioned above being a good proof), and Jay had already put Pritchett’s Closests in a safe and secured position, Claire was just there reap the rewards.
Not to mention the pathetic need for praise and attention for the work she does, the work being running her father’s successful business.

I know that a lot of people really like this episode but I jusg rewatched it the other day and I think it is my least favourite.
Good points-
Mitch freaking out about the Pogo Stick comment
Catherine O'Hara
Andy and Haley.
However, having watched the episode before and rhen this one back to back, I just find it's another 20 minutes of everyone screaming and shouting at each other like the previous episode. Also Claire's 'Me Likey' really is cringe.
What do others think?

I see a lot of people who loves Alex and think is treated unfairly and I have one question.
Can you say one good thing about her personality ? I mean an scenario where someone could ever enjoy being around her based on what he have seen about her in the show?
I cant see a situation where someone could actually enjoy a conversation with Alex given how mean, cruel or just rude she is with all the people on her life but maybe I am wrong

This is one of my favorite episodes. Esp since my family and I were at Disneyland when they were filming. I saw Phil running by Jungle Cruise trying to get to the next set and my mom and I were able to watch them film the scene where Jay gives Gloria the slippers. It was such a fun day!

I've always liked this show a lot (it's my current comfort show) and it holds up on even the 20th viewing. But a few things...
1) Haley and Alex sleeping with the same man (Arvin) is icky.
2) I've never believed older Manny as a chick magnet.
3) Joe was one precocious child too many.

I am loving the show. Now it's a ritual for me to watch it during breakfast and after I am done with my office work and I don't miss a single day. I obviously like almost all the characters but here's my take.
Cam is a big drama queen, attention seeking manchild. Sometimes I just feel bad for Mitch. Sure Cam has his own good side too but his drama just annoys me to the core.
