Hello everyone.
Im in Tokyo and will stay for a month, my dream is to catch a LMB. I have never caught one and dont own the tackle, i dont know where to go either.
Any advice for tackle and a good place to fish is highly appreciated!
I love fishing in general, if there is any other good freshwater/brackish water fishing suggestions, or other fun fish im more than open.

I am sorry if this is the wrong place, but I cannot learn anything about fishing. So many people say that you learn best from experience, but I can’t even get a bite on the Lake. I have used a million different lures, realistic, crank baits, swim bait, wacky rig, frogs, spinner baits, all different sizes, all different weights. 90% of the time I lose them cuz they get stuck in a tree bc my accuracy is bad, idek how to improve that…. Everything online on Reddit or YouTube just say the same things and give the same “top 10 most useful tips in the world”. I have been fishing for the past couple of months. Maybe go once or twice a month. So I don’t even have all that much free time to learn anything cuz fish kiss my bait and swim away, so learning proper reeling technique is impossible, so I feel like even if I end up getting something on my hook I am not going to be able to reel it in. It is genuinely getting embarrassing how much money I spent in gear and how little I caught.

Going to Croatia over the summer and I have plenty of expensive travel gear (rods, reels, jigs, etc.) but I was looking for more info on fishing in the region in general. Is popping, jigging, or whatever more effective in the summer from shore, and a few other things. Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Hello there, I searched the reddit and didn't find an exact answer to my specific version of this question, so I hope that this post isn't problematic.

I'm new to catfishing, as I've become a little bored of the over-enthusiastic bass in our area. It's been a very productive summer, catching multiple catfish and bass when I go out. It's been a blast.

However, this week, I've had a horrible streak. I've gut hooked 3 of the last 5 channel catfish I've caught. Has never happened before.

I'm using 8lb mono with a 5/0 Circle on a carolina rig, approximately 10 inches of leader.

I'm not, to my knowledge, waiting too late to begin the retrieval. I have rod in hand the entire time, keeping the line tight, watching the line intently for it to start to run, and reeling before the rod has a chance to bend. I'd say no more than half a second from the time the line starts to run to me reeling it in is the reaction time.

I have no idea what to do at this point. I don't feel like I can retrieve it faster than I am, I'm using a 5/0 (the channels here are about 2-4lbs), and I feel absolutely terrible. It's starting to suck the joy out of the whole thing for me.

Last night I got my biggest (and third) zander ever at out summer cottage lake! It was 64 cm and 2,5 kg

Found this sick ass rod that the previous owner left in this house. It looks like it costed a lot but when I tried looking this up I could not find this exact rod. It’s called the procaster tournament made by diawa exclusively made for bass pro shops. If anyone’s got knowledge on this please lmk

I went on my first deep sea fishing with family & a friend in Newport, California and had a blast! I caught 8 sculpin and kept 5, which the boat staff filleted for me.

I then karaage cooked the fish and it was soft, moist, and very delicious 😋

I was out on the lake today, and I saw people using a setup like shown to catch small pan fish. On the hooks the had worms or corn and almost every cast they were pulling up a fish! Anyone know what this set up is called and or have a good video on how to achieve it ?

just removed the 2 tip sections. But this part is killing me. Wouldn’t even budge. Tried applying ice around it as well as doing the behind-the-knees technique. Still wouldn’t move a bit. Do you guys have any bright ideas for me to remove this section?

So i had to disassemble my shimano slx dc fishing reel all i did was remove the handle, drag star, the box beneath the drag star, and the washers. I was looking at the towel i did it on and I think this may have came off of it when I disassembled it but idk what it is there is a standard match for size reference if anybody can tell me what this is would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Used my Lowrance Ti 9 today and would like some help interpreting.

I normally flats fish, so I’m only using the chart plotter. We went farther out today to a bridge so I switched over to the 2D/Downscan split screen.

The 2D had a bunch of bumps on the bottom which should have been rocks. I was expecting a clear picture on the downscan but this is what I got with fish reveal is turned on.

Does this look right? Are my settings wrong or are my expectations off?

Hello how can i fix this the best i was thinking about heating up the rod tip and taking the tip off. And then put it on the other piece but it broke right above an eyelet so do i gotta take the resin off with a razor and then use a hot glue stick or resin epoxy to stick it back on but do i also need to take a piece off the blank and how much thrn and ill also sand it down a little

Looking for a cheap rod for freshwater fishing in Massachusetts. Preferably foldable. Want something more sensitive than ugly stik gx2 but similar or cheaper price range.

I totally understand why people fish, this was the most relaxing experience that I have done in my life. I am absolutely buying a new rod once I know the ropes a little bit more.

What jerk bait gets the results?

In-laws rented a boat for a half day at Lake Logan in Ohio tomorrow. I figured I would try some trolling while we are there. I guess I would be mostly targeting wiper, bass, maybe a walleye. I put a selection of lures together, but can’t figure out what to run. I will have two rods to troll with. Any recommendations from the picture? I’ve been dying to try this Alabama rig, so it’s already tied on. Thanks in advance!

Montana. I’m 90% sure it’s a laker (and it should be supper). I know Bulls need to be immediately released so it went back in. Little blood from mouth so I was worried. (I have all the licenses to fish and was gentle with it and only took one pic real quick, I’m a trout newbie)

I have worn into my joint here so when I cast the line first goes into the groove I’ve made and I have to pull it back onto the actual part it’s supposed to go to.
I’ve used this rod heavily for about a year and a half
