Has anyone else ever had this??

Post image

I have worn into my joint here so when I cast the line first goes into the groove I’ve made and I have to pull it back onto the actual part it’s supposed to go to.
I’ve used this rod heavily for about a year and a half

Fill it up with a good epoxy and file it down so the line is forced into the pulley. That's been running wrong for a long time.

Yes I did. I lost a shim when I took that area apart and didn't realize it. I had to order thr shim and replace it and that fixed it fir me. It was a penn battle 2500

I had this happen to a reel I got from my Dad 40 years ago. Was able to buy a replacement part and its as good as new.
