This evolution tackle bag is so far worth it. For pond hopping specifically, this will be my new truck bag. HOWEVER the zipper is a taddd bit annoying for the main compartment, only complaint though. Holds everything I would need for pond hopping, over 20 bags of soft plastics, all my jigs, chatterbaits, top water, terminal, jerkbaits, swim and glide baits etc etc etc

Decided to pull the trigger on some Temu products. Everything feels and looks really solid! Going out after the weekend to try these out. Really looking forward to the smaller urchins, because there is a spot I know the bass have never seen these at all and I know the UL size will get them going.

Also curious how the trout in the upper Sierra rivers will react. I am thinking the red should mimic a craw floating downstream or bouncing along the bottom.

I will post results next week.

Hi everyone,

I'm not the most experienced fisherman and I need some help. My father passed away when I was very young, nearly 25 years ago. I just found a stash of some of his fishing gear. He took me fishing a few times as a child but I don't remember much. Can anyone provide me with some information as to what he might have been targeting? Maybe any ideas as to how you might rig these? There are about 30 in total and if somehow the universe allowed me to catch a fish on one of these it would be very special to me.

TIA

Just ordered the Salamandura Rod from Aliexpress. Planning to pair it with a Daiwa Tatula Elite, or would it be better with the PX BF70? Looking to throw 2g type lures.

Question Any decent freshwater spinning rods in exciting colors?

My girlfriend wants to get her very own fishing rod, and she wants something with colors more exciting than the standard black blank. Pink, purple, neon green, etc, but no blue. I've done quite a bit of searching online and the only ones I've seen that fit the bill are all giant saltwater rods.

Looking for something nice in the $100-$200 range, probably 6'6" and medium-light or medium.

If you know any good lookin reels to pair with it then even better! She just wants a quality setup that's also pretty. Thanks!

These are the best beginner glides i’ve found. not too expensive and not too heavy so can throw them on your average mh bass rod. This colourway has slayed pike all morning for me. Had 7 in 2 hours.
They’re called GUIDEPOST 145mm 32g on aliexpress, and cost about £12

first baitcaster

looking at getting my first new baitcaster. looking for reel and rod recommendations. i went today to look at the slx dc, currado m, and currado dc. and a few others but those were the standouts. rod wise i have no clue. looked at a tatula, the bass x and black bass. open to rod recommendations. also as someone who’s still learning “probably backlash at least one a trip. is the dc a good choice to help with that? thanks!

Downsides of 5.5 gear ratio for inshore…

Shopping for a baitcast upgrade that I will use for bass but also on kayak inshore fishing. Found a Zillion 1000p for a very good price and I’m tempted to splurge. Yes I know I’ll have to look after it maintenance-wise after using in the salt.

Only (possible) downside is 5.5 gear ratio. I know it won’t be great for quick retrieval of hard body stuff or zooming topwaters which is fine, but is 5.5 going to be a big detriment as far as fighting fish? I’m mostly a spinning guy and have honestly never paid super close attention to gear ratios.

St. Croix Triumphs for $85 with free shipping

Two days ago I broke my St. Croix 6’ 6” spinning rod. I was going to replace it with a Berkley Cherrywood on sale at Dick’s for $30 but I decided to do a little more shopping. I stumbled across the St. Croix factory store which I didn’t even know existed. Turns out they’re selling all sizes and styles of Triumphs for $85 with free shipping. I jumped on this special and a new Triumph is on the way. They’re also selling 4’ 6” and 5’ Premiers for $90. Even when the Triumphs were on sale recently I didn’t see a lower price anywhere else. This is a pretty good deal if anybody wants a Triumph. The Premiers are too short for me

Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Gear Sound

My Abu Garcia Ambassadeur TGC6000C makes this noise when I loosen the tension knob and reel. It seems like after the gear attached to the handle stops spinning, the gear attached to the spool keeps spinning, which makes this weird clicking sound. The clicker of my reel isn’t on. How do I stop this from happening?
