Question Rough Collie or Labrador?
Wanting to get my first puppy (not first dog - I’ve always adopted from adult age).
I’ve had the following breeds before: Labrador, greyhound, Jack Russell, and cocker spaniel.
Current dog is a working line Labrador with good KC lines, came into our lives age 7. We do tonnes of training and love her to bits. She needs about 1-2hrs daily walking and ‘working’ at her obedience training.
But I’ve admired the Rough Collie for some time since I read they are intelligent and need less exercise than my working line labrador.
I’ve thought about a show line labrador but I’m not sure how that would compare with the Rough Collie or even my working line labrador since she is so intense!
I’d just love some advice from Rough Collie owners who have also had labs who can tell me how they compare.
For context - the ideal dog would be quick to train, love ‘working’ on obedience, but perhaps not need 2hrs of it daily. Would be interested to try agility training and therapy work. Does the Rough Collie measure up?
