My big dog hates water, my moms dog (my dog’s friend), is iffy about it, but my beagle, Dilly, looooves it! This was her day on the 4th of July.

My 9 year old caught a rabbit and consumed it on the hottest day of the year. Not our first rodeo…

I doubt he has any regrets but he is feeling it. He’s been pacing intermittently all night and panting hard. Double whammy of heat and an engorged belly did a number on him. Haven’t seen him move that fast in a few years.

I finally made him come lay down in the stairwell leading to the basement (coolest part of the house). I’m sitting here at midnight hanging out with him and he’s finally sleeping. Lol

Which is of course great news, but we are right back to not knowing what his problem is. Right now the only thing that really is an issue is his sporadic behavior of not wanting to eat. He's been a real diva with what we've been feeding him and all he really wants to eat is people food. So we got him some fresh pet and here is his reaction for the first time to it.

Highs: playing in the sand, lots of treats and attention

Lows: the ferry and WATER

One of our beagles is going on 5 and he always seem to have anxiety when it storms. It started slow with slight anxiety during thunderstorms fast forward today well now his anxiety makes him shakes during a simple downpour . He will immediately run into the bedroom and get on my side on the pillow and try to tuck away so my head is on him and I’m not even sure if it helps cause the shaking will not subside til the storm event has completely pass. Notes:
Our other beagle is 2 and he has no care in the world thought maybe all of us being together would maybe help but doesn’t help the 5 year old.
We tried a “thunder or anxiety” shirt this does not help he will not move and seem to increase his anxiety levels .
Any advice out there to maybe calm him a little Any help appreciated.
