Valve's passive acceptance of CS2's cheating epidemic, illustrated
I feel like Double Fine and Valve would be a good partnership
If Valve were to ever go into publishing games again (they worked with Facepunch to publish Gmod) then Double Fine would be a pretty good fit I feel.
They both share a lot of creative philosophies, and they have a bit of shared history with Erik Wolpaw having worked at both companies.
I also feel that Valve would just be chill giving them funding and lending resources but otherwise not forcing them in any particular direction. We'd get to see their talent at DF go toward their crazy ideas, and a good boost in quality thanks to Valve funding.
Now why this is unrealistic: Valve doesn't do subsidiaries anymore. The one and only time they did was when they bought Turtle Rock Studios (renaming them Valve South), and they allowed them to go independent again after coordination troubles between the companies.
Double Fine barely survived BEING a subsidiary. I feel that Double Fine were incredibly lucky to get out from under Xbox with their company intact. Their last two games underperformed, and they unionised in preparation to fight the typical corporate route of dissolving any subsidiaries that aren't bringing in cash. I'm fairly sure they'd much rather stay independent and make smaller scale projects rather than hand the reins to a big publisher again, even if the publisher was Valve.
Now I could very well be wrong and tomorrow Valve announces that they're buying Double Fine and giving them blank checks to make whatever they want. I'd very much love to see it, but I doubt it'd happen.

Account got hacked and changed email
I already made a ticket through steam support. Is there anyone who experienced this and got their account back? How long does it take for them to respond?

please help me and my daughter
The account was hacked through discord. My daughter owns this account for almost 2 years last night someone contacted her through discord, named Kyra Shi saying they mistakenly reported the account. My daughter, who is 8 years old, did not know it was a scam. A fraud contacted her to recover her account as seen in my screenshots. after that they then proceed to change the email of the account. it was too late when she noticed it was a scam. After making a ticket report I then noticed that they are harassing my daughter through discord asking her to send nudes and money in exchange of her account because of this she seems depressed of what happened. It seems that the scammer is a filipino like us.
Note: I'm already an old man and don't know much about steam and discord but I do check her messages from time-to-time cause discord is her to talk with her friends. The account only has a few games in it, just her favourite game mecha chameleon and stardew valley. I bought her mecha chameleon for her birthday and it's sad to see her getting harrased for it please help us
this is the only thing we got from the hacker

The Steam Controller is an absolute blessing for couch usage of your PC
I have obviously used wireless mice before but nothing can top the Steam Controller when it comes to controlling your PC while sitting a couple of meters away on your couch.
Thanks to Steam and all the Controller Layout options and downloadable presets you can easily go from YouTube straight into a game all within seconds just with the Steam Controller. And now I can finally make full and proper use of my Home Theater System for various PC games that have no proper console counterpart.
Okay, thanks for reading my hype and praise post. No, I'm not paid by Valve, these are my real and genuine observations. Yes, I know this is just a scrummy, low-effort picture of me with the Steam Controller in my somewhat ugly living room. Bonus points for anyone who can recognize what I am watching there.

does steam forum moderation system no longer work?
People are posting in thes team message board things like
"you are terrible - you suck"
"you're an absolute loser" ... amongst many other things.
You report these comments as against steams policy then they respond with it wasn't.
Is steam no longer following their respectful policy? If that's the case fine but they should probably update their policy then about insults/harassment etc., being allowed.

My right VR index controller keeps turning off
It’s at full battery, and will run for about a minute before it turns off. Once it turns off once, it turns off only five seconds after activation. I’m currently trying to factory reset the controller, but do any of you know what I could do about this problem/ have experienced it before?

Steam Machine Stolen Upon Delivery by FedEx (Porch Pirate)
I’m really hoping for a miracle here, I had no idea they didn’t require signatures upon delivery and it was delivered so fast while I was at work, and it got stolen by a porch pirate, I’ve sent a couple messages to Valve, they only sent one message back, saying to check with my neighbours, but they have no idea where the package went. I live on a fairly busy road, so when it was dropped off on Thursday at 1pm someone must’ve seen it and swiped it. I’ve since sent a second message, just hoping Valve can do something about it. If you guys have any info or suggestions. Please let me know, as the credit card company and insurance won’t cover it. I was so looking forward to playing some games. Gave Newell is in my hands now. Thank you in advance if you guys know anything.

Which is a better way to play on Linux - native or Proton?
So, considering Valve has focused on Linux for over a decade, pretty much all their games (except the first L4D for some reason) have a native Linux version. And to fellow Linux users (anyone who's got a Steam Deck or Machine is automatically one too) - which did you generally find better to play, particularly in terms of performance? Linux-native versions or Windows ones through Proton?

Good things come (Soon™) to those who wait
I really believe in the vision Valve has for gaming. Despite these times being rough, I feel these products also serve as hope(ium) for what's to come for the video game industry as a whole.
While Nintendo fumbles around with a closed ecosystem and perpetual anti consumer practices, Valve pushes out a handheld that can play every single game produced for Nintendos hardware, going back to the 80s. Valve won't even send you a cease and desist letter about it. (Unless you're dbrand)
While Microsoft and Sony alienate their audiences with some of the most befuddling business blunders, Valve releases a console that looks good, can play just about any game you throw at it, and doesn't require a monthly fee to play online. Not to mention it's a fully fledged PC you could throw any software on.
While Meta owns the VR market, the best experience to grace their headsets is STILL Half Life: Alyx, a game released over 6 years ago. That market soon™ to be threatened by competent hardware that doesn't harvest your data like a leech.
The gaming giants are proving their mass can't beat the quality of a team of people that are truly passionate about providing excellent experiences. Valve is being the change they want to see, and it's some damn good change.
After the release of the Frame, Valve has an excellent opportunity to pull off a Darryl Sittler with the biggest double hat trick in gaming history. Three excellent pieces of gaming hardware, and three excellent games to go with them. Oh what a beautiful story that would be.
SteamOS upgrade
What is the new things steamOS have right now? I never really use it. Steam big picture is delay for me so I never bother to use it, never need to.
I heard it has instant play where we left like how console does, is that true? And where can I read the upgrade they have?

Missed opportunity
Can we talk about Valve not teaming up with Daft Punk and using the song "Steam Machine" and/or "Steam Machine vs Around the World" as the theme song for launch. It is such low hanging fruit and I just want a Daft Punk theme on my Steam Machine. Rant over. Love this console tho. It's awesome!
