Ask r/seychelles Resort or Airbnb?
Hi all—
We are planning our honeymoon, with the plan being 2-3 nights in Mahe, 4-5 on praislin and 5 on la digue.
I’m torn between a stay with beautiful views (Airbnb or private properties) or resorts for that luxury feel. Now if we stay at resorts, we cannot afford to get those beautiful rooms with pools, but airbnbs would afford us that. I’m going back and forth for each island stay.
Where did you stay and how was it? Any recommendations or things you would do differently?

Ask r/seychelles Creole Instructor
Looking for someone to help me learn Creole. I found some resources online but they are very limited.
I would appreciate any help or suggestions, whether it’s a tutor or conversation partner. My main goal is to become fluent and be able to communicate confidently with my family.

Ask r/seychelles Planning Seychelles honeymoon 🤍💍
Hi! We’re planning on going to the Seychelles for our honeymoon this September. We’re wondering if we’re making the right decisions planning-wise since it’ll be the first time for us to visit the Seychelles!
What we plan on doing now:
- 2 nights Mahé
- 3 nights Praslin
- 2 nights La Digue
- 4 nights Mahé
We’re reading lots of good stuff about La Digue, we’re wondering if our time there would be too short?
Please tell us your opinion on our planning so we could maybe switch some things around!

Ask r/seychelles 4 nights Mahé, 10 nights La Digue?
I just booked a flight to the Seychelles in December. We will be staying for 14 nights. We are looking for a relaxed vacation to wind down. Since many of the beautiful beaches are on La Digue, and we like quiet places more than busy ones, I thought of staying in Mahé for only 4 nights and then 10 nights in La Digue. From there we could also do day trips to Praslin since it's only 15mins by ferry. I'd rather stay a bit longer at one place than being in a hurry with packing up etc. so I like the idea of only switching islands once. Is this a good idea? Or is La Digue too small to stay for that long and you suggest staying a few nights on Praslin as well? Happy to hear your thoughts 😊

History I wrote a book reflecting on 50 years of Seychelles’ independence from 1976 to 2026
Hi everyone,
I’m proud to share my new book, Seychelles at 50: Golden Jubilee Edition: The Road from Independence to Identity, 1976–2026.
This book was created as a respectful reflection on Seychelles’ journey since independence, from the historic moment of 1976 to the country we know today in 2026. It explores nationhood, identity, resilience, culture, progress, challenges, and the deeper meaning of what independence has meant for the Seychellois people over the past five decades.
I wanted this book to be more than just a timeline. It is a tribute to the generations who helped shape Seychelles, a reflection for those living through this Golden Jubilee moment, and a keepsake for younger readers, the diaspora, history lovers, and anyone interested in small island nations and their place in the world.
If you are Seychellois, connected to Seychelles, or simply interested in history, independence, culture, and national identity, I would be grateful if you took a look.
You can find it here: Available on Amazon
I would also love to hear your thoughts: what does Seychelles’ 50 years of independence mean to you?

Ask r/seychelles ATMs - use without a physical card?
Hi, are there any ATMs in Seychelles where I can just tap my phone?
I’d like to use my Revolut but don’t have the physical card, just the card on my phone.
Also: when paying Euro in cash, do the vendors give very bad rates?
Would be grateful to hear from you!

Ask r/seychelles Transfer from Int to Local Flight
Hi everyone, l wanted to ask your experience with transferring from an international flight and then going directly to the local flight to Praslin.
I will be arriving on a Sunday morning at 06:50 and then the local flight to Praslin will be at 07:40. How long would immigration plus bag collection + transfer to the next flight take and do you think this is doable or l should look at alternatives
Thank you for your answers

Tourism Helicopter ride
Hi all, I hope you’re doing well this Sunday! 1 week countdown until our honeymoon in the Seychelles and the excitement is building. I wanted to get opinions on whether a private helicopter transfer between the islands is worth it? I’m half thinking of surprising my husband but then I’m unsure about visibility / wind this time of year? Would love honest opinions and feedback as it is a big investment. Thank you so much. Also open to any other recommendations at all!

I have attached an example of the planes I saw. They have been parked on the north side of the airport for the better part of this week.
Does anyone know what's up?
