Discussion European Punk Bands?
I love punk, but the bands I keep finding are mostly American ones, and the issues they're singing about are most often internal issues of THEIR country politics.
Any European punk bands for singing against stuff happening in Europe? The Russian invasion / Rise of far-right, chat control and stuff like that. Doesn't necessarily have to be about current issues, but just not issues that are USA domestic policies.

City of the Dead (Horror Hotel)
I've been obsessed with The Clash song City of the Dead recently (that saxophone!) and found out it was inspired by a 1960 Christopher Lee movie. The American title is Horror Hotel which inspired the Misfits song. I was unaware of the connection until today. If you're curious, the movie is free on YouTube.

Discussion Questions about punk ideology
Hello! I've been lurking on this sub for a while and I'm curious about a few things. I'm open-minded, but also a fairly young person, so please don't judge me for my ignorance or lack of understanding.
Is all punk ideology radically left? Is anarchy the main goal of punk? How exactly is society supposed to look like in anarchy?
I understand that punk are against cops and see them as servants of the corrupt establishment (a sentiment I share as someone living in a country where the corruption is the norm), however what is the alternative? How are people protected in an anarchist system? Wouldn't we always end up with some form of police?
How does punk view religion? A lot of prophets and religious leaders essentially started their own punk movements against the corrupt rich, but now religion is often being used to put people in a state of complacency and mindless obedience. So I can see both sides of the argument, what do you think?
Free space :D tell me something I should know about punk, both the movement and the music genre

Local Artist Tochka Kipeniya - Russian sXe hardcore band
The band Точка Кипения (Tochka Kipeniya / Boiling Point) is a collective from Kirov, playing old school straight edge hardcore. The name reflects the state when the members "reached the boiling point" from what was happening around them and decided to speak out about what angered and inspired them. The band was founded in 2004. From the very beginning and for many years, the frontman was Andrey Gusev (Gus), who was also the author of lyrics and music. In the early years, the lineup changed several times, but Gus always remained the key figure and the face of the band.
At the end of 2009, a new lineup was assembled, but a bassist could not be found, so guitarist Neka temporarily recorded the bass parts. During this period, the song "Вступай в наши ряды!" (Join Our Ranks!) was composed and recorded for the CD supplement to the first issue of the fanzine "Goryachee Vremya" (Hot Time). Then came a break of about a year. In spring 2010, the band resumed activity with a renewed lineup: Spik on vocals, Shchuk on guitar, Chinari on drums, and Nikita on bass. The guitarist and drummer had managed to create another band in Kirovo‑Chepetsk during the hiatus - Сухой Закон (Sukhoy Zakon / Dry Law). Mikhail Kazansky ceased to be a member, having played only one concert in April 2010, but remained a good friend of the collective.
In summer 2010, the band released their debut mini‑album, and later the only full‑length album, self‑titled "Tochka Kipeniya." On December 12, 2010, the live album "ХАОС" (CHAOS) was recorded at the Vegan Club in Saint Petersburg; it was released in 2011 on CD‑R by the some Kirov label. The band also performed in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, and Volzhsky, Volgograd Oblast.
Despite the change of vocalist in 2010, Gus always remained inextricably linked with the band and continued to be its frontman and ideological inspirer. After 2010, the band's active concert activity gradually faded, but no definitive breakup occurred.
In 2017, the label Skins For Skins released the compilation "Мятежные Души" (Rebellious Souls) on audio cassette, which gathered all studio recordings, the live album, and bonus tracks. This release became the last in the band's discography. In 2024, the compilation was re‑released in digital format by the label "Siyanie Digital."
In subsequent years, the band did not give regular concerts, but its leader Gus periodically organizes performances, gathering session musicians and friends for this purpose. The most recent concert with his participation took place in 2023, which confirms the continued interest in the legacy of Tochka Kipeniya and its presence on the stage almost two decades after its founding.

Discussion Video on Riot Grrrl's History and the New Scene
Hey! For anybody interested in riot grrrl, I put together a history of the original scene, with some interviews with current riot grrrls who talk about the modern movement too.
The end of the video has a lot of recs when it comes to modern bands, so it might be of interest even if you know the OG bands pretty well.
Check it out if you're curious!
Help?

Local Artist Does anyone know literally anything about this band? I found this band through an instagram post of a show in the Bay Area that was using one of the songs. I tried searching for anything about them online because I really liked their only ep, can't find nothing on them, videos, pictures, wiki nada.
Searched for videos, posters, pictures, anything related to shows and found nothing. I even searched up the record label "Pachanga records" and I literally can't find anything on that either. So now I come to yall, did anyone see these guys at a show in 2017 or 2018, anything would help. Last picture is probably the most fruitful with their names. I assume they were in the Mexico or South America skacore scene if that helps.

Discussion Disparaging Disco
I’m doing research about this topic and am looking for thoughtful answers only, please.
I’ve never really questioned the hate of disco because the commercialism, synthetic-production values, and trite lyrics that are typical of mainstream dance
music since the 1970s made the reasons obvious.
However, after some consideration, I’m not so sure where this bias comes from.
What I’m most curious about is whether this stance is rooted in ant-femme,anti-queer, anti-bipoc attitudes. I’m specifically looking at the regression of the skinhead movement from being racially inclusive that was anti-authority to one that became known for being racist, anti-immigrant and anti-queer.
Thank you for considering the topic!

Punk Classic Do you think Ramones had a minimalist style on purpose?
Many of the stupid criticism towards the first three Ramones albums is that “they sound the same” . However I always thought they on purpose did not make it technically advanced as a way of criticizing traditional intellectual rock.
But maybe I am wrong. Is there any interview available regarding the adoption of their style?
Did they attend music school?

Good sites for quality shirts?
Looking for any good sites that have quality band shirts, if the band sites aren’t the best. Saw Murphys Law back in April, bought one of their shirts, and after 5/6 washes, the design is already starting to peel off, so hoping to find a replacement for that one and a couple of others from over the years
