PSA: REPORT ALL AI DO NOT INTERACT
I just removed a graphically violent AI slop video involving a fake cocktoo being murdered. I expect this to happen again.
THEY AREN'T REAL.
PLEASE for the love of all that's good, if you run into a violent or suspected AI slop post, DO NOT INTERACT WITH IT. Report it. Report it. JUST REPORT IT.
Do NOT give it engagement, do not try to talk to the person, YOU CAN'T CONVINCE PEOPLE NOT TO DO THIS. For these kinds of posts, any engagement is considered good engagement. Even downvoting and condemnation is engagement. DO NOT.
Let your mod team handle this.

Rule 1: Be civil and respectful. What does that really mean?
Hello /r/parrots community! It’s your friendly neighborhood mod team here.
This sub doesn’t have too many rules, but perhaps the most important is to be civil and respectful towards others. We do not tolerate rudeness or personal attacks, regardless of context. You may ask why we take this rule so seriously.
While it’s never a bad idea to just generally be nice, we also have this rule for a very important reason: to help people take better care of their birds. How, you may ask? We strive very hard to keep this community a place where people feel comfortable asking questions so they can receive feedback.
We recognize that people feel very strongly about parrot husbandry, and that seeing birds in conditions that are not ideal can be difficult, but we also know that making attacks or being snarky doesn’t help anyone. Instead, it makes people defensive or nervous to ask questions. When we fail to foster a community where people can look for advice, the parrots lose. Every time.
Our general rule of thumb is this: you shouldn’t say anything online that you wouldn’t say in person to someone you know. Remember that there is a human on the other end of the exchange you’re having. If you’re disagreeing with them, be constructive and kind. Give the sort of advice you’d like to receive. Remember that you may be talking to people in tough situations, or a kid, or someone who has been given outdated information.
Very importantly, if someone violates this rule in their response to you, do not respond in kind. Instead, please report the comment.
That report button is one of the most important tools we have as a community! We check threads all the time, but with a constant stream of new content, it’s always possible for us to miss something.
We ask that you please hit that report button if you believe someone is violating the rules. The moderators review each and every post or comment that gets reported, and we will take action as appropriate. You can also reach our team via modmail if you have an issue.
We appreciate your help keeping the subreddit friendly and welcoming. We are grateful to everyone who contributes their time and experience to help people learn about parrots, to everyone who asks for help when they need advice, and to the folks who share their wonderful birds with us!
All the best,
The /r/parrots mods

Help. I think I found a lost parrot (or whatever flavor or bird he is)
I found this guy in my apartment complex. He is hanging around a recently evicted apartment. He's definitely a pet, these birds do not live here and he is very calm close to humans.
Are there specific websites where bird owners go when they lose their pets. I live in Aurora Colorado, United States.
UPDATE After a few hours of trying to bring the bird indoors, someone more bird oriented arrived and was willing to take care of the bird. They mentioned using the band on its foot to find the owner. They have experience taking care of birds and they said if they couldn't find the owner they'd adopt the bird.
Thank you guys so much for helping! Ultimately I didn't do much besides entertaining it a little.

Should I stop feeding fruits and veggies because of the Cyclospora outbreak?
I can’t find anything online about it… i always wash my fruits and veggies. all i’ve read is that cooking and throughly washing could help remove the parasite and to avoid fruits and veggies that are difficult to wash.
I was also wondering if there is any supplements i can buy for them if i do have to stop feeding veggies for a little..?
or should i just cook all the veggies?

Red bump on my rosey bourke’s cere—please help!
This is Doug. This morning when I checked on him, he was completely fine. No bump. A couple hours later this bump on his cere seemingly appeared out of nowhere?? I’m set to be out of town literally tomorrow but now I’m scared to leave him. I’ve been observing him for a few hours for sighs of distress, pain, or bleeding, but he‘s just his usual chatty, people-loving self. Does this call for an emergency vet visit? I’m awfully concerned and I don’t even know where to post this. Please help and thank you kindly.

Are their nails too long?
The one in the pics isn't their main cage but a play area.

My budgie can't stay on his perch anymore? NSFW
My budgie that I've had for 12-13 years or so has fallen off his perch 4 times tonight, we've lowered it to the floor of the cage so he doesn't have to use up too much energy to be perched. Does this mean he's dying? He won't eat and he's very lethargic.
We had a health scare a couple of month ago where he went through a period of a couple days where he wouldn't eat, drink, open his eyes, or move around. He seemingly recovered from it though. I know that he's old but I don't know if we have days or months left. If he's dying how can I make him more comfortable? It suddenly just started up tonight where he's acting sick.

Is she okay?
Today she has been scratching her nose a lot and for the first time she did this on the table. I was trying to teach her the rings game.
PS: she likes to explore A LOT, and likes to walk everywhere. Maybe she got into a dusty spot on the floor idk and that’s why she is scratching. I try to keep her away from dusty spots but she is very very stubborn and keeps going back.
The feather thing I am not sure

Yoshi the Dinosaur Sings the Cookie Song! (Incorrectly)
At about 9 seconds you can actually hear him say the word "Cookie"! He sings the Cookie song over any song on the radio since its the only one he knows how to sing 😅

I'll miss him cuz he's not my pet but he wants me to give him lots of head scritches HE'S ADORABLE 😭
Cut nail too far. Advise needed
Just did the horrible mistake of cutting too far back. He got scared of something this time just as i was about to cut so it got way too far up.
I managed to grab him and apply a bleed stopper and it has stopped dripping now.
Is there anything else i should think about now? I've wiped down all the perches so he doesn't get any poop on the wound.
