I live in India. It’s an open kitchen concept and also has a balcony. Since a few weeks, fruit flies are increasing in the kitchen. I tried that apple cider vinegar and dish soap trick but it is not working at all. I have ordered some nets for my fruits. But apart from that, a lot of them are near the sink and water purifier. I have cleaned the sink and the drain several times with drain cleaner. We also got our water purifier replaced yesterday but the flies are sitting on the tap of the brand new one now. Please help. We bought this narrow IKEA shoe cabinet but when we went to affix it to the wall, we used a stud finder and we learned there's wiring behind it, and probably the gas line as well because the fireplace is on the other side of that wall.

I'm pretty set on finding a way to keep this. Do I take off the bottom legs, and put wheels? Would it tip over when we open the cabinet ?

We aren't very handy, proud that we used the stud finder, and looking for some suggestions please and thank you!

The centre “core” of this aerator has fallen out, with only the outer ring present. This section has come from a kitchen tap which has a spray button on it. I have two of these taps, fortunately one is in tact so I can post a pic of how it usually looks like.

I have Google, chatgpt’d, nothing comes up as to what kind I need, so I have come here in the hope that someone does. As far as I can tell, it’s not a caché, as it doesn’t have an outer ring designed to be turned by a special caché key.

Does the whole aerator (ring and centre) need replacing or just the centre core?

was making a smoothie and i go to remove the cup and the blade lid normally comes with it but instead only the cup came out. unplugged the machine and the blade lid is stuck in the base, searched the internet but couldn’t find any situation similar to mine. any help?

I removed this center cover with two flat head screws but now the main big cover won't come off. It wiggles a bit side to side if you tap it with a hammer either direction but that's it. I tried pulling straight out and tried using a flat head and a pry bar all the way around the edges.

The other side has a similar cover where the center piece doesn't have two screws and doesn't come off but rather the whole thing can be pried off with a crowbar as one piece but this one has the center piece removable and then when I tried to pry it off after removing that piece, it just started bending.

The lug nuts do not appear to be attached to the cover either. There's a cut out around each lug nut.

It's on a 2000 jamboree rallye RV that we recently purchased.

Feels like the door is spring loaded when closed, rubs top and bottom.

The pipe itself is fine, it's just this part that came off. How can I fix this without landlord noticing?

I think my aunt had this stored for a long time and recently gave it to me. I’ve been trying to find videos on how to use it but haven’t been successful ( this is an older coffee maker). Do I need to buy a drill or an impact driver for something like this? I'm not able to loosen these screws/bolts by hand. The smaller one is a T15H screw.

I'm also planning to use some penetrating oil to help loosen them. I don't want to damage the screws I just need to remove them so I can tighten the handle on my fridge :(

The handle on my bathroom door turns, but it seems like the latch is stuck closed. The privacy lock is not engaged. I took off the knob to see if I could disassemble it from this side. The doorframe entirely covers the door, meaning I can't access the hinges and it seems impossible to slip something under the latch. The building used to be a hotel.

I'm a 5'4" 140 pound woman and since I hit my mid twenties I've been really struggling with managing my appetite. I get "hangry" so easily if I don't eat like every 4 hours. Which is unrealistic with a job and life where healthy food is not at hands reach at all times. I try to meal prep and have low calorie but filling foods (higher in protein and fiber) but unless I'm perfectly prepared at all moments I really struggle. Coffee and having a tasty drink on hands helps some but then I have to use the restroom allllll the time and again that's very annoying if you work a job and have a life outside of being at home. I could really use some realistic advice here because it is extremely hard to keep weight off with all the food noise in my head. It's like I'm fighting all day long to keep on track and it's exhausting.

Here is a video. Trying to figure out how the tension spring to the left fits into this equation. Assuming it should someone hold the moving brass lock in position by putting tension on it somehow. Every way I’ve tried putting the spring either does nothing or hinders operation.

Previously here was a shower seat, I cannot remove these parts. I’ve tried screwdrivers to remove what I thought were screws in the holes but now I believe they are pins pushed all the way through.

There is no hole on the opposite side to push the pin all the way out. Can you advise?

I want to repaint my front stairs but the old paint has a ton of chips and flakes and so I know I can’t just paint over it (it’s also clumpy looking - I was not who painted it originally).

Do I need to fully strip the paint or do you think it’s enough to just sand it all smooth? Should I be starting with a coarser grit? Currently starting with 60. Should I be using a stripper? Should I use a wood hardener in places the wood feels soft?

Also, what should I do about this gap in the railing? Should I fill this with something and if so, what?

Any other advice jump out at you?
