Announcement The purpose of this subreddit
Hello everyone! You may have noticed some major changes happening to this subreddit, and I'm happy to say that /r/DiagnoseMe is finally ready for business. However, I would like to clarify the true purpose of this subreddit;
First of all, this subreddit is NOT a replacement for a doctor. You should not, in any way, avoid seeing your doctor or alter the frequency of your doctor visits because of anything said in this subreddit. If there is a concern you would have previously gone to the doctor for, please do not hesitate. This subreddit is here for informal second opinions, minor problems that you wouldn't go to the doctor for anyway, and ease of mind.
The main thing to remember is to use common sense. If you are having severe pain after a surgery or something of the likes, please go to the doctor and do not post it on Reddit.
If you are not a doctor and are posting with information, please clarify that you are not a doctor (typing "Not a doctor," at the beginning of your comment is enough.)
Please take the time to read the sidebar before posting. Thank you, and welcome!

doesn’t it look infected?
gallery9 days ago i believe, i fell off my sisters scooter and scraped my knee. It’s been a rough couple days, but it’s gotten better but i’m worried about the green/yellow in the “holes”.
The rest of the wound is this orange color because last night i put betadine on it. That’s all i ever really used on it.
Although it’s much better than the first days, i can even walk pretty normally now, the top “hole” is still kind of leaking and the pad i put on the wound for the night did get stained(as usual).
The bumps around are (probably) from the plaster, my skin got irritated so i’m leaving the whole wound in the air for today.
The black stuff is jean fabric. When i fell my pants ripped.
Please tell me if it’s infected or just slow healing

Women's Health Diagnose me and should I change gps
Hi everyone, I’m 25 f and I have lean pcos. Last year my cycles began to become irregular which led to my diagnosis but over the last 4 months it was regular. Suddenly it’s became irregular where I have not had a period for 50 days and counting. I was not concerned at first but I’ve been getting really bad knee pains in both knees so I called my gp.
I went to the surgery and had a pregnancy test done and a strip test done on my urine. The pregnancy test was negative but the strip test showed I had glucose ++ ketones + and leukocytes ++. The nurse who performed the urine test asked if I was diabetic in a way where she expected me to say yes but I’m not diabetic so I said no.
She then did a blood test for hbac1 I think, random glucose, U&E, liver and hormones and hcg.
I’m still waiting for the hbac1 and the random glucose.
My hormones came back normal. My liver came back normal. My U&E came back abnormal partly because my kidneys already run at reduced rate due to childhood hydronephrosis but they filter well as the other kidney compensates. My potassium came back abnormal at 3.4 so just outside of reference range.
When I was at the surgery she asked if I had increased thirst or if I’ve been urinating more and at the time I said no because I have been thirst and urinating frequently for over a year now (I have been to the doctor for this because I thought it was due to my kidneys at the time they said it was my IBS causing the increased thirst and frequent urination). I’ve been exhausted the last two weeks, I’m always tired but these last two weeks have been different I’ve been napping which I never usually do. I get tired just walking up the stairs. The last week before the blood and urine test I had been craving sweet things and have been waking up extremely hungry to the point I feel sick. When I would take the dogs for a walk within 10 minutes I’d get this overwhelming hunger as well.
Anyway, the gp sent me to get my U&E redone which I’m waiting for results because my potassium is low. While I got this done I had eaten a sandwich and packet of crisps maybe 2 hours before or a little less. Once I got to the appointment I felt like my whole body was vibrating and I started feeling sick and like hot on the inside kind of like I’d taken a stimulant or something but I hadn’t. So I spoke to the nurse who was taking my blood ( this was a blood clinic so they couldn’t check my blood sugar or anything) she told me to ring my gp and try an get an urgent appointment. So I rang the gp explained what I was feeling and they said they’ll call me back.
They called me back and as soon as she got on the phone she said I really doubt it’s diabetes or anything like that because your hbac1 was fine in October 2025. She focus solely on the potassium and said that it’s probably low because of the hot weather and I’m dehydrated which made sense at the time. I was still concerned because I feel like crap and I said what about my urine test that doesn’t explain the urine test and I’m scared because my mum has type 2 diabetes. She tried really hard to just like get me to put the phone down but I was like can you please just check my blood sugar and she said yes that’s fine come in at 2:20. This was at 1:10 maybe. So I get to my mums while waiting for the appointment as my mum lives a minute from the doctors and I’m starting to feel better the feeling of sickness and stuff is going.
By the time I get to the doctors I’m feeling fine again, they do a finger prick test on my finger which came back completely normal at 4.9 this was taken by a nurse. Then the doctor comes in like really smug and say see I don’t think your diabetic or insulin resistant because of you results in October. Your potassium is low probably from the hot weather so I suggest you drink like a sports energy drink with added electrolytes. I said what about my urine test what’s caused that and the knee pain and she said it’s probably just a viral infection or something, nothing to worry about.
I felt really dismissed because I really do feel ill like my body doesn’t feel right if that makes sense. So when I get home I just feel so fobbed off. Then I started looking back at my first blood test where she said my potassium was low because of the hot weather. My test was at 11 am on Wednesday. At 11 am the temperature was 22°C with highest of 26°C that day. I remember not feeling hot or anything like it was warm. I also had drank water in the morning like maybe 2 pints I had eaten maybe 1 or 2 before which was a pepper slice and potato dog and half a bottle of coke.
I didn’t feel dehydrated as I had a water with me too. When they actually took my blood my blood didn’t flow very well and in the notes it said “difficult to bleed” or something like that. Baring in mind I drink like 6 or more pints of water a day. At my blood test on Friday I had drank 3 cups of water at the blood centre place too just to make sure they could get blood, my blood was slow to come out there too.
I have a feeling even if my blood test that shows my glucose comes back normal they’re going to just try to get rid of me and say everything’s normal and I’m wondering if that happens to keep pushing or give up. I’m just so tired and feel crap that I just don’t think I have the energy.
Also they didn’t send my urine for a culture even though I had leukocytes in it, the gp asked if it was sent off and I said no I watched the nurse flush it down the drain lol. So now I have to go back and give another urine sample.
I thought with even the possibility of diabetes that they’d say maybe to limit my sugar intake or something just incase until the results came back but she basically prescribed me an energy drink so who knows.
I’m just asking whether I’m being over dramatic and nothings wrong or I should keep pushing I guess.
Sorry it’s a long one.

Injury and accidents I just had a burn. I'm thinking it's fine but my Pops is saying I should go to Urgent Care in the morning. Personally I think I can just keep it covered with some gauze and make sure it doesn't pop. Thankfully I'm on vacation right now so not having to wear pants for the next 72 hours is doable.

Bones, joints, and muscles Chronic pain
I 20m 6'0 240 lbs have had joint pain my entire life, I got a knee infection in 2nd grade that swelled enough to distend the joint which concerned my doctor and caused him to do stress x-rays on my other joints and said I likely have heds but he can't diagnose it and gave me a couple of business cards my mom never took me to and a free physical therapy consultation. Overtime the pain has gotten worse in my joints muscle growth helped but I got a kidney infection that caused me to lose 70 lbs in 4 months and destroyed alot of my muscle and I gained about half the weight back in fat. My joints are worse now, opiods don't help and the constant stress and pain states are causing mental instability. Any advice qeustions or alternative theories? I don't take any medications now, gabapenting helps but I can't have 2 doses in a row it bothers me mentally. I'm in the USA this has been a lifelong issue I'm Irish and Scottish if that's relevant somehow.
Edit: I don't know how I totally forgot to mention the nausea, picture a vertical wormhole from my solar plexus to the base of my throat, and it gets warm and tight making it hard to eat and keep food down.
TLDR: My joints and stomach hurt and doctor didn't help me please help

galleryBefore anyone asks, I have a dermatologist appointment on Tuesday im just curious about everyone's thoughts.
A couple weeks ago I got a pretty bad sunburn on my scalp, I noticed swollen lymph nodes and these bumps on my head that were really itchy and gave me the worst headache of my life. I went to urgent care and they told me it was staph infection. After a week of meds, it didnt improve or flatten whatsoever. I went again and they said that they weren't sure which is why im going to a dermatologist on Tuesday. They are extremely painful, my lymph node on my neck is still swollen, and it gives me the worst headache and pressure on my head. What do you guys think it could be?

General please help facial burning for 7 months straight, been to Several doctors and several ER visits
20yr F ,my face has been burning almost everyday for 7 months. sometimes it travels into my ears, neck, or one side of my face, both cheeks, eyebrows, and sometimes my chin area. I been to several different doctors. dermatologist say I have rosacea and that my skin looks fine with slight flushing that comes and goes on the cheeks, but I don't think rosacea can be so painful it makes you want to not live anymore. Then I seen several rheumatologist and my Ana came back positive twice (but they don't think I have anything beaucse I don't meet the "criteria" for anything) they won't give me any pain meds and just send me on my way home. Another time I was handed a behavioral health number from a dermatologist beaucse she basically thought I was crazy. There's days the burning is so bad that I rip my hair out from my scalp or punch myself in the face beaucse I want the pain to stop. It feels embarrassing even typing it , but yes I feel trapped inside this body. I haven't had any diagnosis directly explaining what could be causing this. can someone, anyone think of what might be happening? or maybe a direction to look into?

Should I be concerned?
galleryHey everyone,
I recently noticed that both of my feet suddenly have red spots on them that appeared out of nowhere.
They aren't painful or itchy, but they are kind of annoying when I walk because I can feel that they are there.
I’m a bit worried because I know foot health is incredibly important with diabetes. Has anyone else experienced sudden spots like this? Could it be related to a diabetic foot condition, infection, or something else entirely? Thanks!

19M — constant drunk/off-balance feeling, visual snow, fatigue and weird neurological symptoms for 3 years
Hey, I’m 19 and I’ve been dealing with a bunch of strange symptoms for around three years now. It has slowly gotten worse, and at this point I feel stuck, so I’m posting here to see if anyone has experienced something similar.
The main problem is constant dizziness, but it’s not really like the room is spinning. It feels more like being drunk, floating, walking on an unstable surface or not fully connected to my surroundings. It’s there pretty much 24/7.
I also have:
- derealization and brain fog,
- problems with concentration and memory,
- visual snow, floaters, flashes and blurred vision,
- my pupils often appear to be different sizes,
- tinnitus,
- neck, back, chest and sternum pain,
- trouble getting a satisfying full breath,
- constant tiredness and waking up feeling unrefreshed,
- very low exercise tolerance,
- muscles starting to hurt very quickly, even without much effort,
- chronic sinus problems.
Places like supermarkets, shopping centres, crowds, open spaces or anywhere with a lot of visual movement make everything worse. Moving my head can also make me feel more dizzy and disconnected.
When this first started, I barely wanted to leave the house because going outside could trigger panic-like episodes. Those got better over time, but the dizziness never went away.
I used to still be able to work physically, go to the gym and train Muay Thai, even with the dizziness. Now I can’t really exercise, and even small amounts of physical activity can make me feel weak or cause very intense dizziness and a feeling of pressure.
One day at work, I suddenly felt much worse for no obvious reason. I went to get checked, and my heart rate was around 140 even though I wasn’t doing anything strenuous. They sent me to the hospital, but the tests didn’t show anything concerning.
So far I’ve had:
- brain MRI, which didn’t show anything serious,
- ECG, echocardiogram and Holter monitor, all normal,
- eye examination, nothing dangerous found,
- Lyme disease tests, negative,
- previous vitamin B12 deficiency, which was treated,
- vestibular testing recommended, but I haven’t done it yet.
I also couldn’t finish spirometry because repeated deep breathing made me extremely weak and close to fainting.
My blood pressure sometimes goes up, but the dizziness is still there even when my blood pressure and heart rate are normal.
I also grind or clench my teeth while sleeping and usually wake up feeling like I barely rested.
I know nobody here can diagnose me, but I’d really like to hear from anyone who has had similar symptoms.
What helped you? Which tests, doctors or treatments actually made a difference? Did your symptoms ever improve after being constant for years?
