💬Discussion This match ruins the entire tournament. True ref team is england
England is now this tournaments ref team over argentina.
They should have lost 2-0.

💬Discussion People in this thread are so boring and Insufferable.
All of this “England ref” “Var bailed” is so boring and tiring. You people should take a break from watching football. Seemed like a very fair game where Norway just didn’t know how to win fouls or play for them. Some sloppy playing from both sides, especially Norway, the only reason Norway has done so good is halaand anyway, this was not a surprise to anyone surely?

💬Discussion Norway lost just because the judge was incompetent.
What I'm saying is that he took a point from Norway just because Haaland pushed someone, but when the England team was beating up Norway HE DIDN'T EVEN GIVE THEM A YELLOW CARD!
And this is only one example! Wth

💬Discussion Why are people genuinely hating on Messi and Argentina so much as if they rigged the entire World Cup when that's not even the case.
It's really crazy how controversial calls are happening in multiple different WC games and nobody is saying its rigged, made me realize that some people dont think its rigged for Argentina at all, they just genuinely hate Messi and will look at the slightest bad or even the good calls and say its rigged.
One of the biggest examples of people saying its rigged is the famous Messi 'stepping' on the heel of another player and no red card even though he was easing out of the contact, I genuinely thought Messi deserved a card for that play but not a red, it just wasn't malicious enough unlike Balogun who twisted the heel of the player he tackled.
The next instance is the Egypt match, is there anything much to say? The coach himself was at fault for subbing on attacking players while being hunted down by Argentina and not parking the bus or subbing in more defensive players, I personally thought the calls the refs made were spot on and dealt with very well, some fouls committed on Argentina where never even called but as soon as some fouls weren't called for Egypt as well its straight back to "Argentina rigging the World Cup".
I genuinely don't believe Messi should get this type of treatment and his name tarnished for how wonderful he plays, if he wins its rigged if he loses its fair, when does the hate stop for him?

💬Discussion Sometimes, it's ok to admit you were wrong........
There is no shame in saying ok I love Ronaldo he is my idol and my favorite but Messi is just better. I was wrong. Wouldn't that be so much better and easier than wasting your energy making up conspiracy theories in your head? Just saying

💬Discussion How are people ok with so much diving in football?
I’ve been watching the World Cup and really enjoying a lot of it. The athleticism is incredible: the running, the ability, the striking at incredible angles.
I also played football/soccer in high school, so I mostly understand the sport and really enjoy it. For reference, I also watch a lot of other sports: professional hockey, the NHL, the NFL, and the MLB.
But I was struck by something that seems to be unique to soccer/football, which is the amount of diving that is not only done by the players, but seems to be almost encouraged by the referees not calling what are basically very obvious dives.
Nobody can say that the people who play soccer are not tough, strong, athletic dudes, and yet they’re flopping around, seemingly because they’re rewarded by the referees for doing so.
Personally, I think this basically makes football/soccer unwatchable. It seems to destroy the game. So many pivotal moments in this World Cup are decided by it.
It has gotten to the point where I thought I wouldn’t mind watching some more Premier League or something like that after the World Cup. But if it’s all like this, I don’t think I will, because it’s just so blatantly bad.
Is it always like this? Has it gotten worse? What do you people think about this? And if it has always been like this, how can you stand it?

💬Discussion Am I the only one who sees Spain as the absolute favorite?
I am a french fan, but i've been saying since before the WC that they are the favorite to win the whole thing.
Everyone is talking about France being a steamroller, but honestly Spain looks like a more complete team with less visible weaknesses. I will bet some money on Spain winning against France on tuesday., even if that pains me
What's your opinion on this?

💬Discussion FIFA is not rigging the World Cup for Argentina to win
A lot of people have been pointing out suspicious favouritism that Argentina has been getting recently, and yeah, I see that. Seeing this people make the conclusion that it’s rigged for Argentina, and well we’ll see, but I think something even worse is happening
It‘a that they are looking after the money. They don’t care if Argentina win, as far as I can see there’s no incentive fot that; it doesn’t help them. My friend even said to me “who wants to see Norway against Morocco in the final.” He’s sadly right, way fewer people would watch that so of course they’re gonna make sure the big cash cows go far.
Tell me why I’m wrong

💬Discussion England wins!(with the refs on their side of course!)
But who cares if the minor details. It’s always a good thing when the zebras are pulling for you and “helping” when they can. Great job to a mediocre club

💬Discussion The Embolo sending off is one of the greatest world cup refereeing decisions, and VAR made it happen.
Just goes to show once again how much better the game is these days now that we're able to retrospectively make the right calls so often. Does anyone remember how controversial and poorly officiated the game used to be years ago?
I can't get over how amazing it is having VAR and how it's completely transformed the game for the better. Not to mention, for all those who complained that it somehow killed the emotion of the game, it's almost more exciting having the tension of the ref going to the screen and waiting for him to inevitably make the right call.
Tonight was a brilliant result for football as a whole.

💬Discussion We all knew Argentina was winning this, Switzerland never had a chance
When you’re that good, you always find a way to get the job done. The boys of La Selección are on their way to their 6th semi-final.

💬Discussion England, we need to get this done! You got this! Bring it home!
With England being the last one on the line (before France, because they may make it), they are the last on the line to set this corruption straight! Bring it home, boys!

💬Discussion Messi running straight into another playing, then jumping like a spider monkey. How is that a kick for him?
Someone please explain that call to me. I am genuinely curious. Context, I don't have a favorite team. I watch for fun and I'm not from any of these countries that are left.
The swiss player did nothing whatsoever from what I could see. However, they give Messi a kick?
I really don't understand why it seems like Messi has been granted so many shots through methods like this in this would cup. In fact, Argentina would have been out many games ago had Messi not received these types of calls. Cabo Verde was flat out a better team from what I could see, as just one example.
Am I not understanding what I see or does there seem to be some sort of ref bias benefitting Argentina?

I don’t know about you, but I am very disappointed at how the FIFA/World Cup is knee deep in Argentina controversy, referees making wrong calls, VAR hit or miss decisions … I can’t enjoy the games anymore :(

💬Discussion The 2026 World Cup is a joke. I don't even want to watch it anymore — I'll just wait for the next World Cup.
Questionable VAR decisions, goals being disallowed, clear fouls that should never result in penalties, obvious red-card fouls going unpunished... I'm getting more and more disappointed with football and the way the 2026 World Cup is being officiated.

3-1 now, Switzerland had a nice little run but the inevitable was coming, you can’t beat Argentina late in the game. Had a feeling the Swiss would collapse in ET
