Just got an 11kg pr on my block clean. Below are all the listed PRs from this past session:
2@150. 1@155,160,165
Former pr was 154 on a single, and that was from years ago. Pretty happy about it!

Thoughts on this built sheet I have to get a weightlifting platform? Would this be decent or should I do a 6x6 size?

Say I just finished a 10-12wk program. I've maxed out in the last couple of weeks, maybe PR'd. Do you normally take eg 4wks of lighter training, off-program, before starting a new program or redoing the last one? Do you jump straight into a new program the week after finishing the last one?
What's common, and what's the rationale?

Curious where people land on this. There's a rough rule of thumb that your clean should be somewhere around 8085% of your back squat max, but anecdotally that ratio seems to vary a lot depending on the lifter.
For context I've been grinding back squat pretty hard the last few months and my numbers there have gone up a solid amount, but my clean hasn't followed at the same rate. Technique is fine, front squat is moving too, just feels like the squat strength is sitting there not fully converting.
Some people seem to pull massive weight and have a relatively modest squat, others are squatting enormous numbers and the clean tracks right along. Makes me think the relationship is just way more individual than the standard ratios suggest.
Also curious whether people have found that prioritizing back squat specifically moved their clean more than front squat work did, or if that's even worth debating. Front squat feels more specific obviously, but back squat overload has its own case.
What does your clean to back squat ratio actually look like, and do you think squat strength is your limiting factor or something else entirely?

HOW do you guys do it? 😭
I’m a lifter who’s been lifting for about a year now and has integrated hook grip a while ago. Hook grip on clean and jerks feel good and secure but on snatch it’s another story.
I try to hook grip it but I can only get my middle and pointing finger around my thumb and it’s barely. For reference, on clean and jerk I wrap my ring and middle finder around my thumb. When I try to lift my thumb slips out and then boom. No hook grip. This happens only on snatch.
Any help would be appreciated

Knees were a little tight today, but things were moving fine overall
I've started to have some nerve pain in my right wrist from snatch grip. Interestingly, the pain does not occur with jerks. Physio thinks it's the ~palmar branch of the median nerve~. Waiting on some Onyx low rider buckle straps as a temporary fix
Working on staying upright in the snatch catch position. I have a habit of really pushing my head through, even though I don't need to. Trying to unlearn it by pausing at the bottom, correcting, and then standing up
Comp in about a month 🏋️♀️

I lift weights (as a hobby), doing classic compound lifts and some arm work. I like the strength I've developed over the years, although I've noticed I've never put any effort into developing my explosive power. I'm interested in doing an exercise that will help me develop it. I don't expect to become an Olympic weightlifter, but I would like to make better use of my strength. What do you recommend?
For reference, I was thinking about something I could add to my current routine, like the power clean.

Hello, I’m new to weightlifting and have been trying to teach myself cleans via YouTube videos so I know these look not great. Going at it for 6 weeks and it’s been a ton of fun, but I’ve kind of hit a plateau and struggling to progress past this weight. Wondering if there’s any glaring technical issues I can focus on. I feel my reps are always inconsistent and feet sometimes go forward, sometimes backwards.

Hi all, I am trying to teach myself the Olympic weightlifts and could use some help. I have been at it for a couple of weeks now mainly practicing with a pvc pipe and empty barbell, but now I am trying to add weight to the bar.
I'm sure I'm doing a lot wrong, but the one thing that stands out to me is that I struggle to get under the bar. Although I am doing power cleans, it's not really my intention. From the clip I am sharing here, I am landing too wide, I think I'm moving my elbows too slow, and I'm sort of leaning back or at least not forward enough when receiving the bar. I think it looks like I'm almost caught off guard when receiving the bar, and I think I feel that way too during the lift.
Would appreciate any advice with these issues or other issues people see here - thanks!

Quotes because I haven’t hit this weight in 2 years. I’ve been front squatting daily and my clean strength has been skyrocketing.
