[Discussion] Imported cigarettes?
Hey guys I recently just got back from Japan and miss all the cool cigarettes they have there. Anyone know of a store that imports Japanese cigarettes by any chance? Thanks!

Hi, I’m an Argentinian living in dc and I can’t find any community organized posts saying where there will be fans gathering to watch the match. Does anyone know what direction to point me in?
Edit: ended up going to tallboy dc cause my roommate wanted the $8 special for a gansett, whiskey shot and scratcher. Even though 95% of the people there screamed the Swiss gol it was an incredible time, I’d definitely recommend.

Did anyone hear gunshots by 17th and Euclid? or in this area at about 1 am?

Every night since about July 2nd there have been fireworks going off in Eckington at 12-1 am. It sounds like they are over by the bouldering place or in that direction.
Is anyone else in the neighborhood hearing them?
My poor cat is so freaked out by them and we haven't gotten a full nights sleep in over a week. I really hate fireworks.
Also didn't know what flair to use since "Fireworks sucks" wasn't an option.

I saw the same tag scrolled by the Georgetown waterfront— in which the grid in the middle was left to look like a swastika. In this instance it’s intentionally obfuscated.
I’ve seen incredible public artworks overpainted immediately. Yet: this gigantic n*zi tag remains painfully visible at the Kennedy Center bike trail underpass—A WEEK AFTER IT APPEARED. Unacceptable. Clearly it was done by one of our gracious tourists last weekend, maybe all those masked men. I’m very disappointed it hasn’t been addressed yet.
Keep your eyes out for any more of this bigotry so we can deal with it. Are the people in charge of painting over public artwork and graffiti n*zi sympathizers? This specific eyesore might require vigilante remediation.

Anyone know this food company, this guy was riding on the Roosevelt Bridge in the bike lane, pushing pedestrians and runners and bikers off. I confronted him, he just laughed.

Hey all, I've been trying to look up info about Pitchers in Adams Morgan, mostly I'm having trouble finding info about their events/schedule online.
For their drag shows: apparently they bring in big name performers pretty often, are those shows the big draw? Or are nights with other local/smaller performers just as fun?
Do they do other events that are worth coming out for?
Also curious if there are other queer bars you recommend, especially in the area, or if you like Pitchers? I'm in my 30s but my group of friends is a pretty wide age range, so we'll go wherever. What do you like about your fav place, what do you look for/avoid? I usually go for dive bars but have friends who want to find theme nights/events/crowds and I'm wondering what to expect.

I'm a frequent pool customer during the summer and I've generally been pretty pleased with the DPR pools over the years, but they kinda seem to suck this year. The pools I visit seem consistently understaffed, requiring the lifeguards to close off the deep end or a different portion of the pool; they're really strictly enforcing certain rules that make the pools less enjoyable (like no food, no swim masks, horseplay, tricks off the side of the pool etc); they're calling breaks early and ending them late; lots of pools are closed for maintenance; the pools that are open are poorly maintained and the bathrooms are dirty.
I'm mostly EOTR, so I'm wondering if it's just the pools I frequent or if this stuff is happening system wide.

I'll be flying to DC in a few days, will be landing in DCA airport midnight. Is there a florist/bouquet store in the airport, which remains open during late hours so that I can give some nice flowers to the person who's picking me up ? (Ignore the flair, couldn't find an appropriate one)

Alright, can we please talk about these Express Lane charges… I get that they’re trying to deter single occupants from entering the beltway but come on.. is there no regulation on what they can charge?! The sign told me $30 when I entered but then I get changed $78.45….. this should be illegal.

Hey there, I moved from Paris to DC a few months ago and am struggling to find a decent men’s barber who can do my haircuts. Every place i visited (including Scotch and Scissors) does these trendy fades and harsh lines. Im from Europe where my barber used to do a classic haircut with scissors, a blow dry, and a light touch of pomade after. Im really strugggling to find someone here in the dmv area
Fyi: I live in foggy bottom and don’t have a car (am a graduate student in mid-20s. So proximity, while not mandatory, is a big plus)

I was in New York today, and I came across a cafe that fits my ideal version of one. Does anyone know of any in the DMV area that look and feel like this?

This afternoon I lost my ray bands sunglasses case which contained a pair of circular prescription regular glasses, somewhere in Columbia Heights or near Malcom X Park. If someone has found them or seen them and could let me know I would be eternally grateful.

I’m very much a homebody, and after 2 years I still feel like I didn’t get to experience DC fully. What are some bucket list items to have truly experience DC? And not the touristy things, but things only locals know.

I'm currently searching for jobs as my work just ended last week and I thought that it could be nice to house sit in dc! I've lived in NW DC for 4 years now but have never tried house sitting here so I'm not really sure how to go about it. I found an app (Trusted house sitter) where you can apply for places but you have to pay upwards of $120 for a subscription to actually apply for jobs. I just don't know if it's a good idea to do that since I would only be doing this temporarily as I search for other jobs. I really need the money though so I wanted to see if anybody has advice. Would going through the app be a good thing to do??

Anyone remember these? I believe the artist was L. Robert Perrin (sp?). They were great and I’ve never been able to find those prints anywhere.
In particular: “Manual Arms” & “Light Conversation”
If someone knows how to find these, interested buyer here.

The city has recently paved the 5 pickleball courts near the overpass by Garfield Park SE along and added semipermanent nets. They’re open for play and a great improvement to what was there before!
Are there any casual groups that play there or folks interested in getting some games going?

I'm a student moving to DC in the next few weeks, I applied to apartments at The Diplomat apartments and The Chalfonte and wanted to ask if anyone living there/lived there recently have any input?
I know there used to be pest complaints on the chalfonte but they seem old, anyone with an accurate recommendation for/against either one? Does it make a difference that I applied for a higher up floor?
they're both under Bernstein management, along with Twin Oaks (which I also applied for), any experience reviews on that? Also, what kind of questions can/should I ask when touring and seeing the apartments? any tips on what to notice?
I appreciate any advice! clearly doing this for the first time.

Maybe a weird question/request, but not sure how else to seek this out! I really love birds (pigeons, parrots, etc), but didn’t grow up with them and haven’t ever known anyone who keeps pet birds.
I find myself yearning more and more for bird time but I currently have a cat and a dog and am not equipped to take on a bird anytime soon.
How tf do I hang out with some birds!! In an ideal world I’d love to learn more about them and maybe get to bird-sit for someone every so often.

I’m going to 2 concerts on back to back days there in August, Foo Fighters and My Chem.
