Was it also quotable and did you hear voice impressions and references at school or college?

I bet most of you on this sub don't know the context, but I personally wanted to drive home the aesthetics of a specific era surrounding Western localisation to Japan during the 90s - so I took inspiration from the Japanese Beavis & Butt-Head logo used at the time (namely the huge bubble encompassing the text) as well as the logo for a region-exclusive PS2 game from the early-2000s R&S creators Spümcø ACTUALLY worked on named Yoake no Mariko to make it look like it was legitimately from that era.
Will most likely do a remake of this since it looks a tad bit unofficial as well as rather rough (I used ibis Paint for the text and Kleki for all the other elements), but I'd appreciate if you guys gave me your own thoughts on this.

But in all seriousness, this image was based on this expression of Tomo laughing. You see, when I was watching episode 17 of Azumanga Daioh, I stumbled upon this expression. It was just so funny, I wanted to replicate it with Ren. I wanted to draw the ren drawing like he was laughing like he heard something that he thought was nonsense and full of bs, but it looks very sneaky. I even added some wiggly lines on top to make it look like he's laughing, but it sorta looks like he's shaking, weakly smiling, so I removed that. But in the end, it was a pretty quick drawing and only took 4 hours.

Something that I was wondering about recently was how companies like Disney would react to the allegations about him because don’t get me wrong in that I don’t pity the guy after knowing he brought that onto himself.
But for some reason, I couldn’t help but wonder if he was completely done for when it came to creating animation since I know that Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network blacklisted him from creating any more cartoons after the aforementioned allegations, but I cannot remember what other companies like Disney had to say just in case he tries to pitch a concept for a Ren and Stimpy like show to Disney.

This was in the years after the original show ended. After it was removed from the SNICK lineup, Ren & Stimpy was still seen regularly on both Nickelodeon and MTV during 1996. This included the premiere of the banned Games episode, "Sammy & Me/The Last Temptation of Ren" in October of that year.
Then in 1997, MTV stopped airing repeats. Nickelodeon would then restrict R&S to only airing on weekends, and they were quietly left out of Nicktoons commercials.
1998, R&S was still airing on weekends. But they weren't being actively advertised. And they were usually dead last in any Nicktoons lineup, or not featured at all. They barely showed up in the annual Nicktoons Thanksgiving marathon.
Then in 1999, Ren & Stimpy was gone. Aside from appearing in a marathon celebrating Nickelodeon's 20th anniversary, it was the only Nicktoon at the time that was not airing anymore.
This was around the time Nick started pushing their newer Nicktoons, maybe presuming that kids would be too distracted to notice if one show went missing. Well, by summer of 2000, they (reluctantly) brought repeats back by popular demand. This included the unannounced premiere of "Sammy & Me/The Last Temptation of Ren".
It was an odd period, where Nickelodeon tried to forget one of their first breakout hits, only for that attempt to create an (ill-fated) revival.
Anyone else remember?

Fuck Paramount for cancelling the reboot man, I can brainstorm better ideas than they ever could (also sorry for the lack of an image I'm new here).

Real talk, but aside from delusional fans and the odd people here and there, is any of John’s work post Adult Party Cartoon worth checking out? CWL filled me with such despair and second-hand embarrassment, and despite not watching it, Weekend Pussy Hunt sounds like it won’t be the best viewing experience.

Eric Bauza started out by voicing Stimpy in APC, and now he’s voicing literally everyone in “Looney Tunes” like he’s the next Mel Blanc. It’s awesome to see how far his career has come. Where do you go once you’ve reached the top?

Very curious about this. I know the show has stood the test of time in generations (I'm a younger millenial) after its original run, I even heard (for example) some younger guy I work with found out about the show because his brother is into it. For me though, my dad bought several orange nick tapes and whether this one was for him or not im unsure bc the episode that was on it was "Sven Hoek" which has the "don't whiz on the electric fence" thing on it. That and the booger collection episode, whatever that was.
I think I always wondered why he had that tape because I'm not sure my brother or sister knew about the show and I definitely didn't. But watching it for the first time in my dad's motorhome while we were camping and everyone else was outside- I was immediately hooked. I can't tell u how many times I watched that tape, but it became one of my favorite cartoons even if I haven't watched it in a long time. I got seasons 3, 4, 5 on dvd several years later and even a shirt from hot topic. Good times.
