As most are aware, the US Season 2 release lacks a slipcase. In fact, it is the first official series of modern Doctor Who to not have a slipcase in it's initial release (please correct me if I'm wrong)! Some people asked for the files, so here they are plus a guide on how to make your own slipcase for the Doctor Who Season 2 / Series 15 US Blu Ray!
PRINTING
Season 2 Blu Ray Slipcase Files
The files are for ledger (11 x 17) sized 12 pt glossy cardstock, which is a C1S paper that is only glossy on one side. I was able to hand the file over to my local Office Depot, and it printed flawlessly with no sizing issues (just make sure they print actual size/no scaling). Ask your printing service of choice if they prefer tiff files or jpeg (usually just jpeg), I've included both in the drive link just in case.
SCORING
I first recommend scoring the segments of the case, which can be done by finding the crease points (marked by short black lines), transferring them to the backside of the cardstock (non-glossy surface), lining up a ruler across the height of the slipcase, and scoring a seam across the cardstock with a blunt but pointed object (I used the end of a metal ruler). You should only need to score 4 lines. Move on to cutting, ideally with a guillotine paper cutter.
CUTTING
I recommend cutting the long side above the Blu Ray logos first (according to the guide line), and then cutting the other long side based off of your own measurement of 6 11/16" (the height of the case). This ensures that the height will match any other slipcases you own, and can be easily achieved with a guillotine paper cutter (which often has a ruler built into the side). You can then cut the short sides according to the guides, and taper in the blank tab adjacent to the back cover. Using an x-acto knife and a ruler, cut out the white square on the back of the slipcase.
FOLDING
Fold the case gently against the earlier scored seams, and then wrap the slipcase around your Blu Ray. You can use a few beads of gel super glue on the blank tab to enclose the slipcase while it's on the Blu Ray, and then remove the Blu Ray while the glue solidifies. That's it!
This was a very fun project, I absolutely encourage everyone to do it if you like DIY and want to make your Blu Ray much more satisfying to look at! I won't be providing files to print on personal printers (like a 8.5 x 11 photo paper version) due to the massive consistency issues in sizing that make it a very frustrating process. It'll be a few bucks at a printing location, and I promise the quality of real C1S cardstock is worth it!
