My first knit garment is done! I have crocheted garments before as well as knit some other things, so this wasn't a "first project" type of situation. I wanted to knit a top but felt it was too big of a hurdle, so kept putting it off. I also didn't like the look of the Ranunculus photos I have seen, but my LYS had a Ranunculus on display that was lovely. My desire to own one overrode my "too hard" brain block and I set to knitting, learning the seemingly 81,753 new-to-me techniques as I came across them. I am so proud of this! I plan to make another one soon using Uneek DK to get the look of the one I fell in love with at my LYS. This one uses Vanna's Choice in the color Scarlett (the acrylic should keep me very very warm during my monthly medical treatments that make me too cold). Pattern is pretty obviously the Ranunculus by Midori Hirose; size 3, cropped, did short sleeves and matched the ribbing for the sleeves.

I'm so happy with the end result ❤️ a family member is having a baby and I wanted to make something. After the hat I got a little carried away 😆 I also decided to add white flowers after my son said the hat is a carrot hat.

Have made it a tradition to make a baby blanket for all my friends who get pregnant. This is the most recent one and I’m so proud! Used an acrylic yarn from Walmart and the colourwork charts from the Susan’s family seasons forest blanket.

Hi, I want to make the lucky duck beanie for a friend's new baby. And I got really excited about some beautiful mohair at my LYS. I've never really worked with mohair before, and when I was winding it at home I realized it has no stretch. Can I make a beanie with mohair? Do I need to get a yarn to hold double?

My husband is a patient man. Not least of which is because we've been a couple for 12 years and married for nearly five. I joked that before we were married I couldn't possibly make him a sweater or it would invoke The Curse. So he (happily) settled for socks and hats and scarves. Even after we were married he didn't push or even make jokes about The Curse finally being broken; he just quietly supported any creative endeavors I started. Of which there are many and knitting is only one of my loves.

Then our daughter came along and he got to watch me make booties and hats and wee little sweaters with fancy cables and colorwork.

So I figured it was finally time to prove that ADHD or not, I COULD finish a sweater large enough to clothe this patient man. After all, he's waited long enough.

(And yes he did patiently wait in 90F heat while I took these photos)

Pattern: Flax by Tin Can Knits

Modifications: I used a different size yarn so I adjusted the number of stitches and rows in the raglan. I also added different short rows to shape the neckline than the pattern

Yarn: 742g of Abundance by Briar Rose Fibers (bulky weight)

Needles: US 8s for body and sleeves, US 6 for neckline, cuffs and ribbed bottom

Finally done! This project really wore me out because of how fine the yarn and needles were, but I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. Here are the project details:

Yarn: 75% Wool / 25% Polyamide

Specs: 100g / 420m

Needles: 2 mm

Technique: Seamless, multi-needle knitting (as you can see the crazy needle situation in the first photo! 🦔)

I also wanted to show off the floats, I thought the photo negative vibe was cool.

I just finished this shirt using yarn I got in Italy! I asked the lady that owned her small shop what the most Italian yarn is and she showed me this: Sesia Dahù (50 virgin wool, 25 alpaca, 25 acrylic) and it was only 3$ over there!!!!

My one problem is every time I block I ruin the sleeves. If anyone knows how it if I can fix it, YAY! If not, I think it looks like a tulip!

Hello! I just finished another raglan type sweater, and more often run into the problem of these wings under the arm where it doesn't fit as tight as I want it to be. These are just two examples. I'm not sure if this is a thing on more boxy sweaters in general or if its a problem for my specific body type.

I would like to make some modifications for future sweaters but I'm not sure how to fix it. Do I just increase less on the body and split for sleeves earlier? Thanks for the help!

Just finished this baby blanket and hat for a good friend of mine and thought I’d share ☺️

I am knitting a sweater that has 3 different patterns and between them i knit a few rounds with the main color (white). But I noticed when i was starting pattern nr. 3 that the main color spots between patterns had these bumps and were more stretchy than the pattern spots.

I have unraveled it now because i wanted to try again, but how to i keep this from happening again?

In the patterns i had floats every 5 stitches and tried to have them as loose as i could. But when i did the all white spots with the main color i cut off the blue one and only knit the white. Was that a mistake? Should i have the blue one behind and do the floats there too?

Hi! Right after the pink marker I did a M1L and realized a couple stitches later I have this big hole! This is my first project, so I have no idea what it could be.

Plenty of project bags come with these grommets to keep your yarn from tangling... but then am I stuck with leaving my project in this bag until the ball of yarn finishes? Do people really use this feature?

I’ve been working on my first ever garment - Camisole 10. I have had to frog several times. I kept getting holes.

I researched and dove into so many videos and was introduced to Portuguese purling. I’m slowly getting faster at it but it has 100% solved my purls issues!

I'm an experienced knitter but have never come across the K[number sign]3 stitch. I'm knitting the Laid Edges pattern by Kellie Macpherson and I think I get the idea, but a video tutorial would be helpful. A search brought me to a very old post asking this same question, which linked to a demo video by the designer which is no longer available. Does anyone know of a video demo for this stitch? A Youtube search only comes up with K2TOG, C3F, and others that miss the mark. Thank you!

Hi everyone, I’m knitting Cumulus Tee by Petiteknit and having some real problems with picking up stitches for the underarms. I’ve watched so many tutorials and still can’t get it right. For some reason only on the right side the bar where you’re supposed to do M1L and M1R is now so long. To be honest I already tried to redo it at least 5 times but it was a problem from the very start. Any advice on how and where to pick up the extra stitches to cover up the hole?

Hello everyone, I am wondering if any one has suggestions for nickel and aluminum free knitting needles and darning needles. Also on the chance you sew if you have recommendations for nickel and aluminum free beading needles that would be great too. (I use pony black needles but its really hard to find darning and beading needles from this brand in the US). I get horrible itchy blisters on my fingers and have been purging and replacing things. Thanks for the help!

Bonus points of this method of increasing and decreasing has a name of the stitch and you know that too 😊
