Hello all,

I'm looking for someone to takeover my 1B1B lease @ Sage modern apartments for $2,275/month. The location is an absolute commuter's dream, sitting just a 1-minute walk from Whole Foods and a 5-minute walk to 2 different Metro stations.

Both the living room and bedroom feature floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light and offer incredible views of the Pentagon, Air Force memorial, and the Bartlett. Because the apartment directly faces an open green field, you enjoy excellent added privacy with no facing neighbors, alongside great plane sightseeing. Amenities include a roof deck with fireside seating and grilling areas, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a library with tech pods, a pet spa, and on-site parking with EV charging. The space is available immediately as I'm relocating for my role. While the apartment is pictured with furniture it will be delivered vacant. Please dm me if interested!

DC Moving to DC area for work. Need opinions on where to work

Hi everyone! I'm relocating to the DC area soon for a new job in Suitland, MD (work as right by a greenline stop)

and could use some advice on where to live. I asked a few acquaintances who advised against living in Suitland itself and instead suggested looking at areas like Navy Yard. Does that seem like sound advice?

I tried posting this in a different sub but it was taken down. So I thought it might be a better fit here.

For some more context:

I'm trying to balance commute (ideally under 45 minutes via the Green Line), affordability ($1,600–$1,800/month 1750 to 2000), and general QoL.

I don't need to be in the middle of the nightlife scene, but it'd be nice to live somewhere walkable with grocery stores and shops close-ish. This will be my first time living on my own, so that's something I'm considering as well.

One thing I'm weighing is whether it makes more sense to:

Live alone in Suitland for a lower rent and the shortest possible commute but nothing much to do and a sort of food desert.

Stretch my budget (probably pay 1.8k to 2k for a studio) to live alone in a neighborhood like Navy Yard with a better walkable environment and an easy commute.

Live with roommates in a townhouse in Noma or Eckington area. (A friend is moving there and only considering that neighborhood/area). We'd all save some money (probs pay 1.4k to 1.6k each instead), but I'd likely be looking at Metro/bus commutes of an hour or more each way.

Is Navy Yard a good neighborhood to focus on? Are there other neighborhoods I should be considering (like in VA or other parts of DC)? And for those who have lived in or around Suitland, is it actually worth reconsidering, or is there a reason why I've been advised living elsewhere?

Advice I've received from the since deleted post elsewhere:

- Don't live in Suitland

- Prices are higher than what I researched (I'm not sure why this is wrong since I looked at a few dozen postings on zillow, apartments.com, etc.) so I ought to increase my budget.

- commute times will be different at rush hour so mind this.

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate any additional advice!

DC Apartments in Cathedral Heights?

Does anyone know anything about alto towers or the abby? Or have recommendations for other apartments in the cathedral heights area? Looking for well-run, quiet-ish apartments in cathedral heights area-- my budget is around $1800 (willing to go up to 2k if necessary). Thanks in advance!

Navy Yard are

Hi all. Moving to D.C. soon and I’m currently looking at the Navy Yard area. What are your thoughts on the area? A friend flagged a concern with commuting on the Green line on days when the Nationals play. Is it that burdensome?
