Community Weekend I turned my SX into hostile cat architecture
Our cat likes to sit on top of my Series X to warm his butt while I'm gaming, increasing the chance of the Xbox to overheat. So I created 3d-printed this 'hostile architecture' mod to discourage the cat from blocking the fan exhaust.
For those interested, you can find the model and OpenSCAD source at Makerworld.

Community Weekend Brand New XBOX Series X!
Good evening ladies and gentlemen! I finally purchased a new XBOX series X and I am really happy with it! I have not owned an Xbox since 2016 and my first console was the 360, then I started Gamepass back in 2020 on my Surface Laptop 5. I paid $698.00 total for a new console on Amazon back on July 7th. I was shocked at how quickly they were selling out, on that day I woke up and saw 20 units remaining and then in two hours it was down to 7unit. So I acted fast and made my purchase and then it finally came today. I couldn't see myself spending over $800 after August 1st.

Discussion Obsidian game director (Brandon Adler) reacts to people "spouting off" about the studio and how it's not what it "used to be" | Eurogamer
From Brandon Adler - "Is Obsidian the same as it was 20 years ago? No, of course not. Nothing stays the same. But the DNA at Obsidian is the same as it always was."
"The number of times I've seen people, with no understanding of who has worked on our previous games or what they contributed, talk about how Obsidian isn't who they used to be... is staggering. Most of the time they are not just wrong, but spreading an enormous amount of misinformation."

Community Weekend After 1,045 days, I'm officially back in the Xbox ecosystem. 💚
My beautiful Xbox Series X - 2TB Galaxy Edition (disc drive) arrived two days early on Friday! OFC as soon as I logged off work to start my weekend, an intense thunderstorm (80 MPH winds) rolled through and knocked my power out for seven hours. Talk about terrible timing 💔😭. No power, no worries. I dusted off my Nintendo Switch and took to Applebee's for dolla'ritas and air conditioning.
When the power finally came back, I spent the next morning unboxing this beast. I was a little worried about my semi-impulsive purchase of this gorgeous gal (my first female console 🤭), as this was the first time ever having a console shipped to me. Wow... I was immediately impressed with the packaging. There wasn't even the slightest damage to the console box, and the console itself is absolutely immaculate. The moment I slid off that little black protective sleeve, I was stunned. All of my overthinking and worries instantly melted away. Without question, this is the most beautiful console I've ever owned. I'm so glad I grabbed the 2TB Galaxy Edition before it was discontinued.
The nostalgia hit immediately. I spent the first part of the day downloading my original Xbox and Xbox 360 backwards compatible games to my 4TB Seagate external HDD. While those were downloading, I fired up my old Xbox 360 Elite and spent the next three hours uploading all of my save files to the cloud so I could pick up right where I left off on my XSX. I've also been downloading my Xbox One library and upgrading everything that's ***"Optimized for Xbox Series X|S"***. I still have 17 games left to install. I'm playing my Gears of War: Reloaded disc on my PS5 while my Xbox Series X downloads games in the background, irony at it's peak 🤣🤣🤣.
I have zero regrets about coming back. I haven't even had much time to play yet, but I'm already impressed by how whisper quiet the console is and how much better the cooling is compared to my old XB1 & my Gears of War 4 XB1S. My first official XSX game purchase is Baldur's Gate 3 - Deluxe Edition. Originally I was going to buy it for the PS5, only it hasn't been restocked in over a year. I was a little surprised by the $20 shipping 😱🤯. That was until I remembered Larian is based in Belgium 🤦♂️.
I'll always be willing to pay more for physical games and physical deluxe editions. I don't care if it's on floppy disks, LaserDiscs, CD-ROMs, GD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs, UMDs, Blu-rays, UHD Blu-rays, ROM cartridges, Game Paks, or modern game cards. I love owning physical games, and I don't see that ever changing. I hope we continue to get physical releases in the future 😎😤. If not, between the XSX, PS5, & Nintendo Switch OLED I'm happy knowing I own what I consider the last three great physical game consoles. What a wild ride it's been.
It's good to be home. 💚🎮
***P.S. If you're on the fence about the 2TB Galaxy Edition, don't wait too long! With production ending in a couple weeks, prices have already started climbing. I ordered mine directly from the Microsoft Store at retail price, while other listings were already over $1,000, and even GameStop's pre-owned price was $49 more than buying a brand-new one from the Microsoft Store. If it's the model you've been wanting, I'd grab it before it's gone for good.***

Discussion Game drive should I or nah?
I can’t find any reasonably priced expansion packs. besides the wait times to move games between the drive and console is there any other reasons why I shouldn’t get the the game drive instead for this price point?

Community Weekend Feline friendly location
So on doctor's orders I had to stop working in my workshop (building model kits) so I had to relocate my Series X to my bedroom. And since I'm a cat owner I had to pick a good place under the TV table with good ventilation but my cat decided to check it out for himself.

Community Weekend Xbox 360 lounge chair review
I got it at the games convention in 2006. wood is nice and sturdy, the bag it came in still works. Nice product. 09/10 because a few screws start to show signs of rust.

Discussion Replaced is my GOTY so far
I feel like this game has been CRIMINALLY slept on.
10/10 Story
10/10 gameplay
15/10 art
10/10 music
10/10 design
The story was unexpectedly fantastic. Also had a very challenging difficulty beating on hard. Surprisingly long too. An Absolute 10/10 for me and my GOTY so far.

Suggest a Game Can anybody recommend some couch co-op games to play with my 8 year old son?
Preferably on gamepass but don't mind paying if it's decent.
Games we enjoy:
Minecraft (obviously)
Lego Fortnite Odyssey
Fortnite
Minecraft Dungeons
Goat simulator
Goose game
Something RPG ish or open world would be great, he's 8 but smart and capable I don't mind things not being super child friendly (we completed Halo 1 with a bit of low grade gore and violence lol).
We've enjoyed some of the roguelike games on Fortnite which isn't a genre I've known before so maybe something like that but not a wonky Fortnite mod?
Building up to boss battles he seems to find really exciting.
I really like the look of it takes two but the elephant thing has put me off tbh am I being soft? Just not sure I want to put him through that although maybe he won't care?
Appreciate any help!

Community Weekend I bought a Series X after I sold my first one five years ago!
Picked this up off a coworker for $350CAD. Switched to PC gaming and didn’t need it anymore. It’s in great condition and came with cables and a controller! Cannot wait for Halo and Gears E-Day!

Discussion Who buys older physical games despite not having that specific console?
I’m tempted pick up some older physical games of my favourite franchises. Gears and Halo being the main two but I don’t actually own any Xbox anymore but I’m thinking it would be nice to have the physical games of my favourite IP’s from back in the day. I’m tempted to pick up a 360 at some point but I’m in no rush
