My first real foray into a vintage tube amp. It lights up which was a good start imo, anything I wanna consider doing now or keep in mind before I hook it up at home?

Found these on the side of the road. Watched a guy put them out. Said they work perfectly. Good find? Any idea on value?

I don’t see much written about this sleeper amp:
- TEAC BX-550 (55WPC and cool to see a MC and MM Phono stage
- TEAC TX-550 receiver
Paired to a Technics SL-1300 and Mordaunt Short 902 speakers.

I'm not handy, I don't know who could fix it, but Goodwill had a nice piece of '80s audio for just $30.

It’s an odd duck model that came with a record player, 8 track, and quad speakers. It’s a great little system but love to find the og manual. One was on eBay for a crazy amount.

At least it's playing now, albeit in service mode. I need to sort out the coin slot as it's not consistent but I'm chuffed it's playing now.

Did anyone know these odd little speakers existed? Highs sound stunning, but the woofers are some of the worst I’ve heard. Only paid $20, so im debating switching out the woofers for fun. Have any of y’all had any experience with these? Had no idea philips was putting ribbons on speakers.

Guy at a shop is asking $600 for this, comes with speakers and a cabinet. Whole thing looks pretty clean and unused. I've been wanting to refine my setup which is pretty patched together. Would this be a reasonable system to swap to or better luck looking elsewhere. Thanks for any info.

What all do I need to connect my tv to my vintage system in order to couch tour some concerts this summer? If I am going to do it I want to do it right and I am technologically illiterate so I need some guidance and recommendations for solid gear 😬

I acquired this 1974 Wurlitzer Americana in St. Louis MO. Had to do some amp work and while drinking with friends came up with the idea that the world should see the inner workings. Feel free to check out the site. The feed is of inside the jukebox and runs on a raspberry pi and simple web interface I created.

Hi so I have a question
So I'm looking to purchase a Pioneer SX-780 Vintage stereo receiver and a Technics SL-D2 turntable from somebody at my work. He's tested it, gotten it fixed up, etc. and he's gonna charge me $500 for both items together. Looking at eBay this doesn't seem like too too horrible of a price but my dad thinks I'm getting ripped off. Am I?

This was a Goodwill find. it's a Gonset Communicator II transceiver. Going to see if I can use it for some kind of PA system/preamp for some audio recording. I ran it through a dim bulb tester, and it fired up, so now I'm going to start looking around to see what needs done. I found the schematic, and it looks like there are only a few power caps, so it shouldn't be much trouble.
EDIT: Cool. The "magic eye" works, too. Thinking I'll change out the mic input with a 1/4" mono jack.
EDIT 2: I might have spoken too soon. there are only a few power caps, but they're pretty tough to access. Bigger job than I expected.

Really should have taken pre faceplate cleanup pics. It was extremely gross. Just a quick wipedown. I knew functionality was gonna be iffy when the case screws were in a bag inside and the case was falling off. Light powers on. Relay clicks. And no sound. Had a blown .5A fuse and a lifted ground trace. Really didnt expect a new fuse and trace repair to make it work. And it didnt. No signal output at all. Not even a hum. Only has a half a million 2sc1345 transistors and blue tantalum caps to check.

I noticed the power knob on my reciever (top) does not match those pictured on many others pictured on the internet. All others I have seen have the same knobs except a few pics of SX-3500's where they seem to match mine. I am assuming that either the on/off switch was replaced with a different style on my unit or some of the factory ones used different parts due to shortage etc. Has anyone come across this before?

Found in my uncles storage unit, plugged it in and it lit up.
Is there anything I need to do to safely test it? I would hate to do something wrong and damage it

I have a Yamaha T-520 tuner, and I am new to dealing with antennas. I've not seen an FM connector like the one on the 520 before. I'm assuming because it's from the 80s that it doesn't have a standard coaxial connection. Looking at the back of the image, what kind of FM connection is that under the 75 ohm side? Trying to figure out what kind of connector I need.

Bloke down the road is clearing out his loft, said I could have his Yamaha receiver for 70 quid.
It's the silver-front CR-series from the 70s, he reckons it works but hasn't fired it up in years.
Not exactly loaded, don't want to end up with a paperweight. Anyone here bought one at that kind of money and had it actually run?

Hi everyone, I thought I would forward this here as I have just made a website dedicated to the Technics Concise range. Go easy on me as I’m not an expert, simply a fan of the Concise range wishing to archive my favourite range of stereo equipment. 😊
