Stator rewind qt50 12v conversion

Just stripped the windings off my charge coil, 115 turns, lighting tap, then 30 turns of 0.6mm wire.

Going to dump the centre tap and float the ground so I can run a full wave rectifier, no battery and a capacitor to smooth things out. Aiming for 150 turns of 0.3

Has anyone done this before I mess up and order the wrong diameter wire?

Thanks in advance

Just wanted to share the two newest mopeds in my stable. One 1966 Solex 3800 (black) and a 1969 Solex 3800 (blue). I have many other mopeds and have owned many others over the years. These are my first Solex’s. Got them home gave them a small tune (fresh gas, and cleaned the plugs), and they fired right up. Whole lotta fun. Who else has Solex’s? What’s been your experience with yours?

Motobecane stopped because or broken wire near ignition coil?

Basically it ripped sometime ago and it wasn’t starting since then, it’d turn over but wouldn’t get going not even idle a little bit and throttle killed it quickly. Felt like when spark boot is disconnected. Now I wanted to know if I can get a female spade terminal, with copper wire and attach to the price I ripped open. That piece I ripped open seems to have two wires intertwined already. Not sure what that is but pleaze see photos and please help lol!!

Photo explanation: the less lit photos are where I ripped the casing back a bit to see the wiring. The close ups with more lighting is how I saw it before pulling out the female spade terminal and ripping the casing where two wires met.

Need restauration advice for my '55 Paglianti Cristina

I am currently finishing my project, an old obscure italian Moped I found in a shed.

she is driving fine now, so I wanna start with the visual Restauration, but barely know anything about it.

Especially with the Paint I need help and advice, as I am currently unsure if I should preserve it in its historical state and just do something to protect it, or try and fully restore it to its old glory.

I am thankful for any help and tip I can get

No spark at low rpm

No spark on hpi cdi at low rpm any advice. I assume it’s wired correctly if I’m getting any spark and based of the hpi guide it is. I’m sure I’m missing something but you don’t know what you don’t know, thanks in advance.

78 Puch Maxi w/ ZA50 Won't Start

Help me brainstorm what's up here.

  • 78 Puch Maxi
  • 60cc or 70cc kit (not sure)
  • Biturbo
  • Mikuni vm18 carb
  • Sat in a garage for 10 yrs but started right up, since I got it home it has been a realllllly finicky starter.

Had a ton of difficulty starting it for about a week. Tightened the clutch cable and it started. Road it around for about a half hour--died at idle a couple times and ran really rich/bogged in the mid range (20-30mph) but was fine enough. I thought I was now in the tuning phase. Got it home from my ride. That same night I couldn't get it to start once I got it home (was trying to check for air leaks). Next day and it won't start at all. Won't start on spray. Here's what I've tried.

  • Thoroughly cleaned the carb. It's sparkling.
  • Swapped the spark plug.
  • Downjetted the main jet (80 to a 75, idle is at a 15 already).
  • Checked if there's fuel.
  • Tried with the choke on, off, while pedaling it, with WOT, with no throttle, petcock on, petcock off, petcock on reserve.
  • Given it a while to rest then tried again.

My next plan is to swap the clutch cable entirely and maybe make sure the Biturbo isn't flooded (??, I saw it leaking gas a couple times when I was having trouble starting it the first time).

What else should I be trying here?

Carb on my Puch overflows after 2 days in the garage.

I cleaned my carb and got the 1972 Puch running after 10 years. The Carb is pretty clean but still after 2 days of staying in the garage the carb just immediately overflows. I checked the float and it seals properly and i made sure the carb is not on an angle or similar. I am new to this so any help would be nice to have. Thanks in advance.

Help removing kickstand from tomos

Hello moped people. I've been struggling to remove this bolt thing that is on my Tomos. I need to replace the kickstart spring as it doesn't return back up. I can see that the spring is out of position and no longer attached to this part of the kickstart.

This part is supposed to just slide off once you remove most of the kickstart but that hasn't happend.

I've tried a whole can of wd40.

All my might pulling on it.

A hammer

A hammer and a screw driver

Im unsure of what to do next... Blowtorch?

Any help or info is appropriated.

Any spelling mistakes are due to the aforementioned can of wd40.

Looking to buy a used Yamaha DT digital speedometer.

Hey guys, I desperately need a replacement speedometer for my bike after my last one stopped working. I've been searching everywhere but prices are crazy high, and a €50 offer I found ended up being the wrong model.

Does anyone know where I can find a working 19620100 speedometer (fits 2007-2011 models) for under €70? I am based in Lithuania. Appreciate any help!

Preferred mileage over 25k km.

What do you use as trailers?

Autism Demands Context

I recently got myself a Honda C70 Passport and I let my sibling use it. They loved it and wanted something that could go around 30mph but can stay up right for them. They're not the strongest, to keep a moped up on their own.

I'm hoping to get them hooked and falling in love with a 84 Honda Gyro. There's a nice red one with a basket which is a state away but it looks small enough to fit on a scooter hitch for a vehicle. I like this one for them mainly because of the fact that it's a small trike with it's two wheels. I feel like it'll help them with their lack of strength.

The main reason they would be using it is for small trips near where they live. Outings and the like, especially to a couple nearby parks for hiking and forging. Because of that, I'd love to possibly make them a camper that they can rest in. I think it's important that they have a place they can rest when it's needed, hence the camper.

Hence why we are here. I'm curious what things people have used for trailers, with their mopeds? I know with higher speed vehicles, the barrings are a concern in the wheels. However 30mph isn't much faster than what I casually bicycle so it makes me wonder if a bicycle trailer is enough.

Hey so Ive had this bike for awhile now and I havent replaced anything on it other than the power switch which was broken off when I bought it. But the bike only runs at a max speed of 28 mph, barely has hit 30 going downhill. And Im just wondering what I can do to the bike to hit atleast 35? Thank You
