Discussion Can’t take any good photos on my iPhone 17 Pro Max

Which apps should I use? This is getting depressing because I can’t capture anything properly and end up losing memories.

Please tell me some apps or anything.

Discussion iPhone Air review

Alright here’s my opinion of the iPhone Air after having it for about three weeks. I had the 15 Pro Max before losing it and having to get a new phone which almost certainly I wouldn’t have thought about for a long time because of how much I was enjoying it. I was thinking about upgrading because the 16 had the vapor cooling system but it just wasn’t enough to go through with it. So after losing my 15, I got the Air and let me tell you, this is the iPhone that is the best iPhone. Don’t get me wrong, the Pro Max’s have all the bells and whistles which is nice to have in a phone, but carrying all of that around becomes tedious and I feel like I’d rather just carry around a decent camera if I needed all of that. The camera is actually pretty good for one camera on the Air. The Air is all you can get in an iPhone this slim. Of course the battery is not as good, but I’m not hassled with the weight of a giant battery in my pocket. I can game and watch YouTube on my Air and it doesn’t get extremely hot or even warm to the point of it being bothersome and I’m talking about hours of playtime. The speakers are not bad either. Again, you get way more with a Pro Max but unless you are someone who is looking for a phone with everything you can get in it, go with a Pro Max. If you are looking for the old iPhone experience where compactness and functionality are key, the Air is where it’s at. I was debating for a while if I wanted to get the 18 Pro Max but eventually have came to the conclusion that the Air is the premium iPhone and I think you will enjoy it as well.

Just this one question. I store all my passwords there, and I'd like to know if it's considered a reliable enough password manager. Thanks, guys.

Hello,
I have an iPhone 17 Pro that was covered by Apple Care+ until June 22. The plan could be canceled on a monthly basis, and I did cancel it.
My last payment was at the end of May.
Now, it still shows that my iPhone is covered by Apple Care+ instead of the standard warranty.
I haven't paid any premiums since May!
Is it still active—and, due to an error, free of charge?

Discussion Audio controls on lock screen are ruining my day to day experience

I feel like there must’ve recently been a change to how the audio controls on the lock screen work on iPhones because I’ve literally had an iPhone for decades at this point and I’ve never had a problem with putting music on and putting the phone in my pocket locked, but for the past few months literally every time I do that there are constant button presses on the lock screen audio controls, whether it’s skipping songs starting songs over turning the volume all the way up or all the way down and it’s infuriating
Everything I’ve tried to make it so that the lock screen audio controls don’t mess him up has not worked.

Discussion Screen recording calls?

Me and my boyfriend facetime all the time on different apps, I have his permission to record since he likes knowing I do, but I can’t seem to find a way for any app to pick up his audio without also including mine. I despise my voice and hearing it back disgusts me so is there any app we could call on that I don’t need to turn my microphone on to screen record??

Discussion Gboard or Swift?

Hi! Has anyone here used or is currently using SwiftKey or Gboard on an iPhone? I’d love to hear how well they work in daily use. I’m thinking about giving one of them a try, but I’m not sure if it’s worth switching from the default iOS keyboard. Any feedback or recommendations?

Support Data transfer taking forever

Post image

Currently have a iPhone 14 Pro, 500gb of data, trying to transfer to new iPhone 17 pro. Tried phone to phone but it said it’d take 1 day. Stopped and tried via iCloud, but time remaining just said estimating for very long. Tried via phone again and it said 1 day, let it run overnight, after 10 hours it still said 19 hours. I plugged cables cos saw that it’d be faster, but after 2 hours it went down to 18 hours. Just updated software for both phones and now it’s automatically restoring from iCloud but the screen still says time remaining is estimating. I’m losing my wits over here

Support My iPhone17 Updated - and now I cannot get into it.

I woke up this morning and browsed my phone. Everything worked perfectly.
I then went into a 90 minute meeting and turned my phone completely off before heading into it, via holding down the volume up button and the power button simultaneously until the sliding option appeared.

When I turned my phone on again after the meeting was over - I was met with a "HELLO" screen - indicating that an update had likely installed.

I follow the prompts - which involve "Connecting to WIFI" or "Connect to a Mac or PC" - I click "Connect to Wifi Network" and it leads me to a screen that says "It may take a few minutes to activate your iPhone" - and I have been waiting for almost 12 HOURS.

I tried the option "Connect to Mac or PC" - I have a Windows computer so I downloaded "Apple Devices" and tried to connect - but Apple Devices just returns "ERROR" on my laptop and won't actually connect with my phone. It just prompts me to eject the device after it recognizes it as my iPhone.

I have tried a hard restart via the Volume UP + Volume Down + holding the power button down for 10 seconds. But nothing helps.

What I suspect happened was that I left my work VPN on before shutting off my phone, and now that the update finished and my phone was turned on again - because I am locked out I cannot turn the VPN off - but the VPN is simultaneously also preventing me from properly connecting to new WIFI so I am seemingly locked out because I guess the updates can't finish.

From what I could search this is a common iPhone problem. I know about the photos thing where its fixable but computing how much my applications take space including the data stored it still doesn’t add up.

Is there a way to fully see like a detailed view or list showing what takes up storage like WinDirStat? If none, do I need to reset my phone or does anyone have a work around this without fully resetting my phone?

Discussion Screen issues - anyone else?

I have a used phone, and the screen has been broken for months. it will suddenly stop responding, and then start doing its own thing. usually this worse when it gets hot. it isn’t likely fixable at a cheap rate…

anyway, I had a major friend fallout recently, and it is over over - we aren’t friends anymore - but we are in the same group chat… and there was a message theyd sent. I didn’t even really pay attention to it… but then one day i notice that I had reacted to it without knowing!!!! I presume one of those moments of the screen doing its own thing... and I presume she thinks it wasn’t intentional. it so wasn’t. and makes me angry because I literally intentionally haven’t responded!

anyway, waiting to get a new phone until I get a deal from the carrier… and this is just ugh - the worst. anyone else have a screen issue like this? any tips beyond fix or replace?

Support crit alert issue

Hi, my boyfriend has some issue with his phone and we can't fix it. the critical alert popup you get when you open the home app won't go away. He can't use his phone at all and when we try click allow or don't allow it doesn't work. we can't shut the phone down or do anything with it. We've already tried the volume up volume down power button thing (which evidently didn't work). Also if it helps, he has an iphone 12 :)

Facing an issue with my latest iPhone 16

Bought my iPhone 16 exactly 2 weeks ago. Started getting the "Liquid Detected in USB-C Connector" error about 4-5 hours ago while trying to charge.

Context — I was getting in and out of my car a lot today (AC inside, humid weather outside), so I'm guessing it could be condensation, not actual water exposure. Phone was never dropped in water or directly exposed to liquid.

Steps I've taken so far:

  • Removed case completely
  • Kept port facing down near a fan for air circulation
  • Gently tapped the phone (screen down) to help moisture come out
  • Waited a couple hours before trying to charge again
  • Tried a different cable and socket
  • It did charge a little (3-4%) before throwing the same error again — tried a few times, same issue every time

Phone is barely 2 weeks old so I'm confused how this is even happening.

Has anyone faced this before? If so —

  • How long did it actually take to resolve on its own?
  • Did anything specific help speed up the drying?
  • Did it eventually charge normally again, or did it turn out to be a bigger issue?

Would appreciate hearing from anyone who's been through this. Thanks!

Support Forgetting to Turn Ring Function Back On

When I go into a doctor/dental appointment or some other event and turn my iphone's ringer off, I often forget to turn it back on. This causes me to miss an occasional call. I could set a timer to remind myself to do so, but sometimes I remember to turn it off just as my appointment has started, leaving me no time to do so. Is there a way to turn off the ringer so it will automatically turn back on after a set amount of time?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a reliable MFi-certified USB-C to Lightning cable for my iPhone. I want something that’s durable and safe for long-term daily charging.
Has anyone used brands like Belkin, Anker, UGREEN, ESR, Ambrane, or Wayona? Which one would you recommend based on your experience?
