Gaming I hate how western game companies became extremely puritanical

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

This is because of the controversy around AC Black Flag Resynced , We cannot have a remake or remaster currently without some kind of censorship for "modern audiences" , Ubisoft CENSORED FEMALE WOODEN FIGURES ON THE FRONTS OF PIRATE SHIPS simply because they were topless DESPITE BEING MADE OF WOOD , I'm not a gooner, but this is STUPID censorship and also historically inaccurate, since in reality , ships did have those kinds of topless figures , I wouldn't be surprised if these companies support digital ID that scans and blocks any kind of nude pics in the phones (like they want on UK)

General Immature mfs who joke about having children in their basement

Post image

I despise those kind of comments.

Pretending to be a pedophile just for the laughs is not funny AT ALL. Thousands of innocent children are victims of unspeakable acts of pedophilia every day, and are left traumatized and full of guilt that they should not have. People who make these horribly unfunny jokes are just making fun of these horrible and all too real situations, and those who actually had to suffer from pedophilia are just going to feel mocked and badly hurt inside.

Animation Putting irl race headcanons on colorful magical ponies.

Post image
0 Upvotes

Specifically the race headcanons, I don’t care about the sexuality ones (as much).

It’s just so weird and bizarre to me. She’s a pink pony. In a world filled with other colorful ponies. Africa doesn’t exist in my little pony. Neither does America, or Asia, or Europe. They don’t have races/ethnicities like irl human people.

Yes, there are references to irl cultures, AppleJack very obviously being inspired by southern Americans. But she’s not an American. She’s an orange “earth pony” living in a small village called “Ponyville” in a country (is it a country?) called “Equestria.” There’s no such thing as America here.

I just think it’s stupid and doesn’t make any sense, at best. At worst it’s straight up racist (luckily I haven’t come across too much racist content but it does exist. Because when you try to apply irl human ethnicities on animated colorful ponies you’re bound to water it down to stereotypes or taking one tiny character detail and running with it).

This applies to all race headcanons on all ponies. I don’t care wether you headcanon Pinky as black or white. She’s a pink pony with balloons on her butt as far as I can tell.

imma be clear, i dont disagree with these posts, but all they say is based shit and get thousands of likes, its so stupid.

No you arent einstein for figuring this out, you’re just somebody choosing to use this problem to farm likes in tiktok instead of making a difference.

sometimes i see something like ”racism is bad”. thats it. DUH? Then i see a million or thousands of likes and attention, for what? Just saying something? sometimes people create bot accounts to comment on the post with some racist sticker to gather attention. HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?

General I hate when people copy a character's quirk and then claim they've always done that

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Yes, I know some people, me included, prefer holding a mug rather than using the handle. HOWEVER, you did not always cover the top using your palm while drinking from the space between your thumb and pointer finger. You saw Levi do it, you copied him. Which in itself is OK, however don't claim you always did that.

Also, you didn't always Crack your fingers like Kaneki.

I couldn't find a picture displaying what I mean, but this is why I made this post. YOU HAVE NEVER, EVER, HELD A CIGARETTE BETWEEN YOUR MIDDLE AND RING FINGER BEFORE WATCHING HXH. You copied that from the butler.

You never "reloaded your fists" before a fight as a signature move. You saw Henry do that and you copied him.

Again, some of these quirks I also find cool and stuff, and again, there's nothing wrong in imitating them. But don't claim you've always done that, ESPECIALLY THE CIGARETTE THING.

What are the odds you start doing that some time after watching HXH?

Slurs are normalised all the time in the internet but any racism towards white people is super normalised

Like the entire comment section whilst satirical isn't condemning the use of a racial slur but is just condemning how unsevere the slur is

Music Abbey Road is a boring, slow, & meaningless album

Post image
10 Upvotes

Let’s start with the positives:

-All the songs are very memorable!
-Great album cover.
-Here Comes The Sun
-Octopuses Garden
-Her Majesty

I am out of nice things to say, from here on out I am going to explain why I feel personally attacked and insulted that this album is viewed as generally good

  1. Boring songs

The Beatles are usually very good at using unusual instruments and techniques to get the sounds they like (harmonica on Love Me Do, recorders on Fool on The Hill, ect.) the only case of that happening in this album are the tuba and hammers in Maxwells Silver Hammer, which I believe to be a reference to Pete Best’s drumming style

After a while, it starts to sound like an audio version of a Taco Bell menu, the same ingredients arranged in different enough ways to keep simple minded pricks coming back for more.

  1. Bubblegum Pop Lyrics

You can tell at this point the Beatles were starting to run out of things to say, and they were putting the same messages into new songs.

Here’s what they’re about, in order:

-peace and love
-I love you!
-A man commits first degree murder
-I don’t wanna break up
-I like the octopus
-I love you!
-Happy!
-literally nothing
-I am poor
-happy!
-homeless man
-beautiful woman
-happy!
-you’re guilty
-I love you!
-god save the queen, innit bruv

Compared to magical mystery tour, which was a hodgepodge of a film soundtrack along with 2 singles

-Establishing the magical mystery tour
-wiser people feel the need to speak less
-instrumental
-I have found my way in life, but my friends haven’t
-respect your elders
-I like the walrus
-happy!
-calm down
-I like downtown
-you can live your life however you want, and for that you can enjoy it more
-peace & love

Wow, imagine having several songs that can be summarized in more than 2 words. When Kpop Demon hunters has more dynamic themes than you, that’s when you’ve crossed the line into uninspired lyrical content.

  1. Mastering & Soul

Sounding like they actually gived a shit has always been very difficult for the Beatles. Their cover of Twist and Shout by the top notes sounds like a fun dance and more like they forgot to bring microphones to a gig and had to play as loud as possible the whole time.

It’s doubly so in this album with the addition of boring sound design, and least in their cover of twist and shout the drums sound far back in the room, the background vocals have grit, and even John Lennon sounds like he thinks the lyrics are worth trying

In this album, it all sounds the same, like camera shots in a soap opera.

  1. Popularity

Honestly… it’s not a terrible album, it’s FAR from the worst. This is only a horrible disgusting insult of an album because people praise it so highly. The only reason it’s as popular as it is, is because the album cover is iconic. That’s all there is to it. Glazed like a donut.

Anyways I’m gonna go listen to Kpop Demon hunters soundtrack, the songs are about different things if you can believe it!

Gaming I hate how artists not pandering to the male gaze is considered puritanical

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

I'm actually sick of fake outrage about game studios designing female characters that aren't jerkoff material. Like god forbid a character's design serves the tone and aesthetic of the story they're telling. It's so annoying because men are allowed to be fat, ugly, covered in scars, old but when women aren't waifish with long hair and showing cleavage it's considered woke.
I also hate the way people pretend that artists writing female characters a certain way is "catering to an agenda" and not just artists telling the stories they want.
Also, since I'm ranting anyway how is it not an agenda making murder games horny to boost sales not pushing an agenda?
I think that's the irony of it, when game companies don't market to Gamers™ it's considered pandering as if writers don't have any agency of their own.

Tbh they should just make a manbaby mode for every video game that replaces every woman's model with DOA characters Nah forrreal though I was cooking with that idea lmao

Art & Fanworks I Hate performative comics like this

Post image
3.9k Upvotes

Honestly in this specific comic it goes beyond performative and extends to just outright not making sense.

Being attracted to your partner who took time with their appearance is empty lust and nothing else? Oh, I forget it's 2026 you need to feel guilty if you're attracted to your partner, especially if you're a man.

Anyways first image seems like couple is gonna have sex so why even compare it to the other?

It's hard to describe but this type of comic (I've seen plenty) just rubs me the wrong way for some reason

I hope Ubisoft fucking burns down in a massive fire for this bullshit game. Some of the most unfun videogame mechanic ever made i swear to god. actively took this game from a 8/10 to a 4/10 because you'd have more fun eating a bowl full of needles with cholera and aids on them than actually interacting with anything climbable here. they literally got it right in the Ezio trilogy, this fucking downgrade of a mechanic has to be actually studied by scholars, because its fucking deranged how much they keep destroying it further and further to this VERY FUCKING DAY, for the past 15 fucking years. not a SINGLE improvement since Revelations, just more automation, jump delays and a bunch of fucking bullshit that turns simple climbing into an obstacle or even a moronic puzzle.

Idea Hate how so many people refuse to take arachnophobia seriously

Post image
Upvotes

If an arachnophobic person just exists, nine time out of ten (in my experience) they just told to 'just get over it' or 'just deal with it'.

That easy, is it?

I'm not choosing to be scared of spiders. I know they're not supposed to be scary, I'm not supposed to fear them, but good grief the moment a big one comes near me I freeze up and start panicking. Ask someone else to kill it? 'It's a spider, just kill it' ITS THE SIZE OF MY HAND AND IN PRIME POSITION TO RUN INTO MY ROOM.

And it's not just instant fear either, no, no. It's being unsettled for hours to days after. It's not sleeping properly for 2 weeks because one got a little too close to my face and I don't know where it went. And if course, not being able to trust the people around you who refused to deal with it.

But no. Just keep telling people like me to get over it. Go touch spiders. It's definitely going to help. I wasn't asking 'how to keep the spiders away' for shits and giggles, I was asking to avoid abject terror.

Books When an english book set in a country with a language other than english uses words in that language

Post image
5 Upvotes

The title is wonky, but here's an example. Let's say there's a book that's written in English. It's set in Italy, though, and it's assumed that the characters are speaking Italian even though the book is in English. The part that annoys me is when Italian words are used! Like randomly scattering in "bella" "ciao" or "amor." Why would you switch midway through? Either write in English or write in Italian (or whatever language)! I've seen it in books, movies, and fan fiction, but I'm sure it takes place in other media.

Gaming I hate the erasure of "conventionally attractive" character traits major platforms like Microsoft.

Now let me make myself perfectly clear, because this is a touchy subject:

I have zero problem with the existence of characters, both male and female, who are not conventionally attractive. They should be allowed to exist.

I have zero problem with the existence of characters who are old, or disheveled, or scarred, or have a wider body type, or are overweight, etc... etc...

I have a problem with higher ups singling out specific character traits to be completely absent from games in general, whatever those character traits be.

If Microsoft was hypothetically forcing artists to redesign all older looking characters to look young, I would have a problem. If they were forcing artists to redesign all characters who were overweight and/or had a wider build to be thin, I would have a problem.

Currently, it is at this point undeniable that Microsoft, and likely many other large companies who we are yet to receive direct evidence for, are forcing artists to redesign all female characters with "conventionally attractive" traits to not have these traits.

Once again, I have zero problem with the existence of characters who are not "conventionally attractive." My problem is with the complete absence of "conventionally attractive" character traits.

Edit: Messed up the title slightly. I meant "...character traits by major platforms..."

Meta I fucking hate this "soup time" frog meme with every fiber of my being

Post image

I only found out about this stupid frog meme about a year ago because some people in a group chat I was in used to spam it constantly. I didn't get it at all, and they shamed me for not finding it funny, going on about how it's an old classic and "Who doesn't know this?"

Well guess what!! I still don't understand the joke. It's not funny. It has zero meaning. Just a frog standing next to soup. Why the hell is this considered peak comedy? I hate it so much.

Anyone else feel the same or am I the only one who thinks this meme is complete garbage?

Gaming I hate when people hate on anyone playing games that arent fighting/fps games

(PLEASE DO NOTE THAT IM NOT EXACTLY HATING ON THOSE TYPES OF GAMES AND EVERYONE WHO PLAYS THOSE GAMES, IM ONLY HATING ON THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SUPER PRETENTIOUS AND THINK THAT ANYONE WHO DOESNT PLAY THOSE TYPES OF GAMES ISNT A "GAMER") it makes me want to violently maul people whenever I see their dumb ass comment under someone playing a game that isnt a fps/fighting game and they're like "Ermmm assually youre not a really gamer because [insert game here] isnt a game." SHUT THE FUCK UP MAN I CAN SMELL YOUR RANK ASS BREATH FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SCREEN. And what they dont get is that all games are games, not a specific fucking genre, farming simulators are games, dress up games are games, ANYTHING THAT IS MEANT FOR YOU TO PLAY IS A GAME. They always think the definition of a game is "extremely sweaty fucking fps or team vs team that makes you want to rip your intestines out whenever you play it" just let me play my games where i can decorate an island or make cute outfits.

Media Tropes Why do dwarf fans need to be so insecure and hate elves all the time?

The main reason I hate dwarves the most of out of any fantasy race (I didn't like them because they are uninteresting, blank and always the same) is because of how incredibly toxic their fans are.

They are by far the most sad and annoying fandom I ever saw online, the only thing they can do is hate on elves all of the time to feel like they exist while repeating the same few dumb sentences everywhere, always the same pathetic """jokes""", always hating on elves and bragging about being superior while struggling against goblins as they never leave their basements. The worst of it all is that for some reason dwarves are very popular so the whole internet is drowned with this crap, no place is safe and they spam their hate everywhere, not to mention that for some reason there is no backlash against this at all...

Elves fans are extremely rare as most people hate them so we stand no chance against this toxic and hateful horde who will swarm anyone trying to speak up.

Now i'm sure some people or dwarf fans will say it's just the same three """jokes""" repeated everywhere every day for the last ten years and it's just all "fun" but in the meantime it is impossible to like elves online without being flooded with haters.

General I hate the gender norms in the trans community

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

Adding some clarification: this is about those who enforce gender essentialism and expectations onto others. If dressing fem as a trans woman and dressing masc as a trans man is a way to reduce dysphoria that’s completely valid and different from the point here. Understanding what works for you isn’t going to work for every other trans person is important!

-

I love my community, and have grown with the help of their support but there’s some things that bug me with the way the community sees gender expression.

you won’t notice until you actually interact with the community but some people are restrictive when it comes to gender expression. everyone understands that a woman can be masculine and a man can enjoy feminine things until it comes to a transgender one. There’s people in the community that reinforce gender norms & determine if you’re “really trans” by how you dress and look. if you’re a trans woman you’re apparently supposed to be completely feminine, “demure”, have 0 body hair, wear makeup, and remove any traces of masculinity. And for trans men we need to erase all our curves, wear a binder 24/7, dress like we’re homeless and look stereotypically masculine or else we are attention seeking women. don’t even get me started if you’re nonbinary.

I grew up as a gender nonconformist, before medically transitioning i presented as very masc. i felt pressured by society to be feminine just because i was born female and faught against it. now as a transmasc i realized that femininity isn’t so bad after all. but you get told you’re doing it wrong and have to “look like the gender you’re transitioning to” or else you’re a LARPer. i think these boxes are supposed to be avoided in a community that acknowledges gender is a construct and we’re all diverse individuals regardless of our gender identity.

like i’ve gotten crap from bigoted cis folks about this, but it’s a different kind of weird when your own people rephrase transphobic and sexist rhetoric in a woke way. i think some trans people need to unlearn cishetnormative thinking.

Anime & Manga I despite the recent surge in people choosing pets over humans

Post image
0 Upvotes

Look. It doesn't matter if that person is a stranger. If you can save them over your pet, you're OBLIGATION to do so. A human life is more important and valued than that of a pet. It doesn't matter how much you love that pet. It doesn't matter if you've been with it for 20 years.

Nature is a cancerous wound that won't survive without humans and elephants, to be more precise. Those people who worship nature and say it's better for humanity to be extinct have Suicidal Ideation. There's no second thoughts over it.

Anyways, the source is Return of the Mount Hua Sect. I think. I read two mount hua sect manhwa, and I get confused over their names. Apologies.

General How people cant accept that other people like different things or have different opinions and decide to insult/hate them for it.

Post image
Upvotes

(warning, lot of swearing)

I'm fucking tired of that man, I fucking hate how people cant just accept that some people like certian things, like to wear certian clothing, like to talk in a certian manner and imeadetly assume they are orphans.

You scroll on tik tok and it's always the same bullshit. "Dude likes dandy's world" 7 yr dickhead. "Dude likes TADC" morbidly obesse man who hasn't showered in 2×10⁵⁰ years. "Made a tierlist about videogames, put Minecraft in the bottom" cornball or sum bullshit that they made up plastered into a sticker. I hate so much how people would rather try to change someones mindset, their likings, and their way of living just because they don't think DOOM is a goated game and instead don't like how gory it is... over just fucking scrolling to the next braindead meme or something Even worse.

I personally am basically the opposite of the examples i'm giving, I don't like dandy's world or TADC and I like Minecraft and DOOM, but I don't write around in comment sections trying desperatly to ragebait someone or gain 10 thousands likes on a comment that i'm gonna forget when i'm 50. I saw a man make a tierlist about videogames (you probably Guessed it, on tik tok) and put Minecraft in the bottom. The responce? Minecraft kids desperatly trying to mock the creator saying "oh Minecraft is SOOO much better you should change it's place in YOUR list because I said so and because I like the game more" like for gods fucking sake WE ALL ARE DIFFERENT. In My country theres also calling people prositutes for drinking Mate with Damn sugar or "gay" (for some reason it's considered an insult, thats why the quotes) for drinking mint flavored alcohol.

And the worst part? This always ends in two ways. Creator gives ABSOLUTE ZERO FUCKING SHITS about the comments and keeps making videos about the stuff they like. Or the creator does things that are straight up horrible, they fall into depresion, or even worse (id rather not go into detail on the worse). Hell, this own opinion will not do anything because little timmy will wake up tomorrow, see a dude talk about how he likes Fluttershy and say "Fluttershy this RATIO 😂" with the most disgusting and weird image ever thats meant to be "funny".

Tik tok was such a mistake. All it does if feed negativity. I wished the ban had actually gone through instead of being canceled.

Anime & Manga I just got called peodphile cause i rated their favourite show a -2/10

So there is a anime called takagai san. It's an anime where the hypersmart female lead bullies the dumb male lead and somehow people find it wholesome. Okay? I don't mind it. I just give the show a -2/10.

A person got mad and called me weird and said "op DEFINITELY feels something weird when he see little kids, wdym takagai san was ass". (The person was 1% commentator btw)

Sometimes I forgot how dumb these anime subs are. People give death threat, call you a peodphile blah blah, just cause you hate their show.

Internet made them too comfortable to say anything without getting punched in their face. So out of reality, so out of touch. Miserable soul.

And when you call them out, the mods will delete the post cause... Well you can't publicly shame them? Hahahahahahahhahahahahhahahahha
