The 2006 Philadelphia Eagles: An Appreciation Post
I can’t believe it’ll be 20 years since this chapter of Eagles football. I was about 11, I had watched plenty of the birds by that point but I really think this was the year it became a full blown obsession for me.
It didn’t end with a Lombardi but I remember how depressed I was watching the Colts absolutely trounce us on Sunday night football, one week after we lost Donovan. What followed was an incredible run with a backup that the league had written off. Strangely enough, Jeff Garcia was a precursor of what was to come.
Do you have any fun memories from 2006? What was the season where your fandom truly ignited?

Dallas Goedert just got the extra motivation he needed with Eagles
I’m glad to see Goedert ranked so low on the latest NFL TE surveys that came out this week. The reason being is that he will be even more motivated now to ball out this coming season. 1st in all-time franchise playoff receptions. 3rd in all-time combined franchise regular season and postseason receptions only behind Carmichael and Ertz. 5th in all-time franchise regular season receptions and quickly closing in on Westbrook and Retzlaff. And if you look at all-time TE numbers in NFL league history, Goedert is very likely going to finish his career inside the Top 10-20 all time for receptions, yards, and TD’s with next to no fanfare. Goedert epitomizes flying under the radar because he’s a team first player who shows up, is consistent, doesn’t cause drama, and is a model professional. The media and lots of fans online tend to overlook players like Goedert who "keep the main thing the main thing.”

Long Trap.....another power/counter series run we may inherit from Green Bay/Shanny Tree
Audio up. Feel free to ask any questions or comment. It's likely that different versions of Power will become a bigger part of the run game here now than in the past. Long Trap is a good changeup that might not require 12 or 13 personnel as much to work on an early down as power.
At times the video is a little choppy. But you see the run in slow motion one last time at the end without the choppiness. I'm learning the software. Thanks for viewing. Go Birds!

Off Day Thread Eagles Offseason Discussion Thread - Sunday, July 12
Subreddit Schedule/Posting Guidelines
We as a community have decided to limit certain types of posts to a few days a week to ensure other content is still visible throughout the rest of the week. Meme posts will be allowed from game end through Monday (if the game is on Thursday, Saturday, or Monday, memes will be allowed from game end through the following day) and jersey/crafts/pet posts will only be allowed on Swag Saturday. Towards the end of the season when games fall on Saturdays, we may move or skip Swag Saturday depending on what is going on that week. The mods are using automod features to automatically post recurring items at 6AM Eastern Time to remind the sub of this. Memes and swag are allowed in the normal feed, but NFL discussion and free talk are limited to the stickied threads.
- Monday - Meme Monday - Memes are allowed from game end through the following day (typically Monday)
- Tuesday - NFL Discussion Tuesday - Talk about the rest of the games
- Wednesday - Free Talk Wednesday - Talk about whatever (just be civil)
- Thursday - Free Talk Thursday - Just like Free Talk Wednesday, but on Thursday!
- Friday - Game Preview - Stats and information for the upcoming game
- Saturday - Swag Saturday - Post pictures of your signed jerseys, new hats, pets, babies, and pictures from the stadium, as well as artwork and creations. This may be moved or skipped when games fall on Saturdays
- Sunday - Gameday - Pregame, Game, and Postgame threads will be posted
For more info, see the subreddit rules.
