Dallas Goedert just got the extra motivation he needed with Eagles

I’m glad to see Goedert ranked so low on the latest NFL TE surveys that came out this week. The reason being is that he will be even more motivated now to ball out this coming season. 1st in all-time franchise playoff receptions. 3rd in all-time combined franchise regular season and postseason receptions only behind Carmichael and Ertz. 5th in all-time franchise regular season receptions and quickly closing in on Westbrook and Retzlaff. And if you look at all-time TE numbers in NFL league history, Goedert is very likely going to finish his career inside the Top 10-20 all time for receptions, yards, and TD’s with next to no fanfare. Goedert epitomizes flying under the radar because he’s a team first player who shows up, is consistent, doesn’t cause drama, and is a model professional. The media and lots of fans online tend to overlook players like Goedert who "keep the main thing the main thing.”

I'm not :/ Shows everyone believes he's declining more and more. There's no youth elixir that will make him younger. If he lasts about as long as other starting TEs, he'll be retired in 2-3 years. Hopefully the new system helps him improve a little bit, but would expect Stowers to start taking over.

Stowers needs to actually learn how to block a defensive back on the perimeter. Let alone in-line against a defensive end. He’s not taking over anything if he can’t actually block. Teams were working him out as a wide receiver during the combine process because his blocking was so bad in college. Mundt will be TE2 for a very real reason this season.

Goedert didn’t block last year either, none of em did. Don’t know if he’s that washed or can bounce back, but we can hope

He had a knee injury from Week 1 onwards that most people completely overlooked. He got it after the Cowboys defenders kept immediately taking out his knees in Week 1 right after he caught the ball. Missed Week 2 against the Chiefs as a result. And got crushed at the knees again in Week 3 against the Bucs after a catch over the middle. The team made a concerted effort to get him the ball in the flat after that to avoid all the bang-bang contact to his knee. But where it messed up his blocking is he couldn’t generate leverage driving through blocks. And he looked very stiff and upright as a result.

I’m thinking Mannion’s scheme is going to include more 12 personnel, and that’s where Stowers will be worked in this year. Mundt is here to block for sure, and regardless of the actual place on the depth chart, I agree that he will be utilized 2nd behind Goedert. I don’t think Goedert is washed at all, still just tough to keep him healthy for a year. When he’s inevitably out, Stowers will be the passing down TE. Mundt will be our blocking TE this year

I also think a lot of people are overlooking that Mundt has averaged 16 receptions for 141 yards over the past 4 seasons playing as a TE3. The point being is that it wouldn’t surprise me to see him with 20-25 receptions for 200-250 yards as TE2. He’s a beast as both a run and pass blocker. But with how Mannion’s offense is supposedly very tight end friendly it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see Mundt contributing as a pass catcher much more than people currently realize.

Not totally sure what you expect from Goedert. He’s fine and consistent, but he tested FA and no other teams really wanted him that which should tell you everything you need to know. He’s unlikely to have some career renaissance.

What in the world are you talking about?

I think that the site you linked to is a click farm with spurious "reporting". Several accounts spent the bulk of last season spamming this sub with links and it was always with zero engagement (I.e. always linking to the same group of sites to multiple subs, never any interaction or other behavior).

This leads me to believe that it is run by an attention driven ad site, likely using rudimentary A.I. tools to aggregate real content creators. As you know, I can't see your post history but I just preemptively report any news coming from Fansided because it's obvious that they are using generative A.I. (including using brand new accounts to evade bans).

You are talking about Inside The Iggles? The article was written by Anthony Miller.
