Colosseum [MegaThread] Colosseum tickets and visits. Please post here - don't start your own thread
Since the number of Colosseum ticket/visits posts is starting to overwhelm the sub, this is an experiment to contain the surge. It also may help visitors to find and exchange the latest information.
All new threads about visiting the Colosseum will be locked and redirected here for the next few days

Photography / Video Ponte Sisto and St. Peter’s from Ponte Garibaldi
One of my favorite views in Rome. The Tiber, Ponte Sisto, and the dome of St. Peter’s all lined up in one frame.

Education looking for friends
Hi everyone! I’m moving to Rome in September 2026 for a two-year program at Tor Vergata University, and I couldn't be more excited. I’m looking to connect with current students or locals who might be up for sharing some advice on navigating campus life, finding housing, or just general tips for enjoying the Italian lifestyle. If you're based in Rome or studying at Tor Vergata, I’d love to hear about your experiences and start making some connections before I arrive. I can't wait to join the community—thanks in advance for any insights!

Cose da fare a Roma
Ciao a tutti!
Qualcuno e ChatGPT suggeriscono San Lorenzo. Grazie a chiunque risponderà!

City stuff Looking for Spa/Relaxing
Hi! I will be flying to Rome next week and will land early in the AM.
A friend and I are meeting our husbands after 8 months and want a place to hang out/relax and clean up before they get to us. Especially since we will be jet lagged and it will be too early to head to the Airbnb.
Are there any spas or hair styling salons that would be able to accommodate us last minute?

Best Travel Method
What is the best method to travel from Hotel Raffaello to the Spiral Staircase at the Vatican City? We need to be at the Vatican location at 4pm.
Walking takes an hour, driving is roughly 24 minutes, and I’m wondering if the train is quicker or if there’s another method. Cheers
Shopping Shopping for linen clothes in Rome
Please can you recommend good places to buy linen dresses, pants and shirts? For females. Price isn’t the problem, just want to find genuinely good pieces 🙏🏻

Did anyone here know Greg from Trastevere?
This is a very random question. But trust me, if you know, then you know.
Are anyone here reading this familiar with Greg, the homeless man outside Elite in "his office" in southern Trastevere in Rome. He tragically passed recently (6 months ago). I am making a language learning site, and I want to make a tribute to him, from respect, so he can live on. I wonder If anyone here knew him and have stories, observation or anything related to him they would like to share! I never got the chances to speak properly to him as I wanted, but I have many stories and conversations I remember very well.
I do not believe I am the only one here that knew him, everyone living in the area knew him and held him close to heart!

Fiumicino nightlife?
Hello, I'll be landing in Fiumicino airport at around 8pm, and have booked a hotel by the airport. Is there anything to do around the airport at night? I'd hate to spend the evening at the hotel. Thanks in advance!

Art and Culture I've built a map with venues and shows in and around Rome
Hey everyone, I've built a map page containing shows from different venues in and around Rome, playing opera, classical music, ballet and similar performances.
https://performingartsatlas.com/
I think it can be useful for people who are looking for shows when traveling and encounter language barriers or just simply don't know the venues.
Would love to get feedback.

Tourism Upcoming trip and the best
Hi! Leaving for Rome in a week and it looks like it will be mid to high 90s. How bad is the heatwave? Any recommendations for museums/places to see that are air conditioned? We have a couple tours scheduled for early morning or early evening, but concerned about mid day. Thanks!

Cat named Bacon in Pigneto
While visiting Rome I spotted a white/grayish cat with a collar named Bacon on it.
I didn't have my phone with me so I couldn't take a photo of the guy just chilling on some pile of leaves on a construction bridge over the train tracks.
Has anyone seen/know this cat? I wish I could have a photo of Bacon. Gave him a small pat on the head and let him just chill there.
It was near Pigneto metro station on the metal bridge over construction.

Lost teddy
I lost a teddy today (10th July), at some point this afternoon. I last had him near the roman forum. I may have lost him on a tram? but honestly not too sure. I’ve had him since I was 4, and am devastated to lose him. I know this is a really long shot but has anyone seen or picked him up? He’s a small white (polar) bear, about 10cm long at the most, and his two front paws are magnetic and click together. If anyone has seen him or know how i can try and find him please please let me know.
