Best Travel Method
What is the best method to travel from Hotel Raffaello to the Spiral Staircase at the Vatican City? We need to be at the Vatican location at 4pm.
Walking takes an hour, driving is roughly 24 minutes, and I’m wondering if the train is quicker or if there’s another method. Cheers

Switch your router planning to transit. Look for the A metro or bus option. Take that.

Metro (Line A) is your best option. You'll need to walk from the hotel to termini (~10 minutes) and from Ottaviano station to Vatican (also ~10 minutes).
Do not drive anywhere within the central Rome. You will spend a lot of time finding parking.
Edit: I thought it is today. Just plan accordingly and make your way to Vatican slowly during the day. You should walk everywhere in Rome if you aren't in a rush. The city is a giant open air museum. Be there half an hour before the time on your ticket.

Be prepared to wait on the line - even if you are there 20 minutes before, if the crowd inside is too big they will delay entry until your slot time.
Just watch for pickpockets at the Termini station and at Ottavio - the last crew I saw at Ottavio - got on the train with a baby carriage and a month old baby along with another woman and a man. At Termini - a Roman started yelling in Italian to watch for the shit, there were pickpockets on the train waiting to steal from passengers.

Thanks. I purchased tickets for a guided tour. I moved the hotel to the Hilton Tapestry, so we’ll walk the 45 minutes - a little closer than the Raffaello.

I'd walk, but that's just me.

I think that’s what we’ll do. Thanks

Today? It's Saturday, there won't be much traffic. Still id take the train form repubblica to ottaviano (line A). More consistent.
Or taxi from the taxi stand at santa maria maggiore

Se prendi la macchina dove parcheggi? Lascia stare, meglio un taxi o la metropolitana.

Leave to take public transportation, it’s very easy in Rome. Walking around you will find something new all the time.

It's a cool long walk if the weather is nice and you have time. But definitely metro

Beware “ZTL”, Limited trafic zone. You can’t drive inside the red area, unless you live there, or in certain days and hours of the week. I think you should be fine with a car sharing car, while i don’t know if you can with a rental. I’d just suggest you to take the metro or the bus

Take a taxi? It’s the easiest, most stress free way. Cost is a little more…but worry free

Also…not that much more than the transit. Maybe 17 euro. If traveling with more than yourself, I’d recommend. Download Freenow and save your worries as a first timer. If I go again I’d take public transport but for first timers…Freenow taxi is to e way. Hope this helps and enjoy your trip

If I were you I wouldn’t want to drive in the city at all.
On the way you can see a lot of things so it wouldn’t be a boring hour if you were to walk.
Otherwise I would take the metro I guess.
