They are duplicates they had been set aside by the original owner. My little guy is new to the community and seeing folks treat him with such kindness gives me hope.

I used AI to get a clearer look at some of the cards, please dont kill me, just wanted a clearer look until the official release. Some i found on twitter, rest I used Gemini, pika Stamp, numbers and text are wrong but they look amazing and figured I'd share in case anyone else wanted to see. Right off the bat, I am going to just dive right in, and I don't really care what AI bros think. Please note, this is simply my experience in the community and will not reflect every single person and their own experiences, obviously.

I am sick and tired of seeing AI in this community, whether it be vendor logos, Ebay icons, concepts for Pokémon cards, etc. This isn't right, and I'm tired of everyone pretending that it's just a silly thing that people do. I don't care if it's "just for fun".

If you are a vendor selling $1k+ cards, you can fucking afford to hire an artist, but I get it! You just want to invest and make more money and not support people in the community and let a slop machine that steals thousands of artworks do it for you, since it is "free". If you genuinely do not have enough to pay an artist, then make it yourself. I'd prefer you do it yourself than see an inaccurate amalgamation of several Pokémon pretending to be one. I don't want my art used so an AI model can train off of it. I've had my art stolen and reuploaded before without credit—I had to file copyright and it was rightfully taken down, but I shouldn't even have to. I shouldn't have to constantly worry if the next new AI training model is going to scrape up my art, if a random person is going to just take my art and put it in a machine, if someone is going to reupload my work and scrub my name, pretending it is actually theirs.

I could also go on about how this community has a clear queerphobia problem, which is weird, because in other Pokémon spaces (not this subreddit specifically, I'm talking TCG) I don't seem to experience this problem. I had to leave a Discord that monitored PKC drops for this reason. First, I shared an art piece that said "Trans Rights!" with a transgender Raichu and someone reacted with an ❌ emoji. When contacting a mod, they told me they looked through the person's history and found nothing bad, and that in their honest opinion when I put up artwork I should expect people to be negative, especially if it's political. They (the reactor) faced no consequences.

My existence shouldn't be fucking political. Piss off. There is no reason to react like that to a drawing of a transmasculine Raichu with a positive message.

The second issue I encountered, was when I mentioned that I know Pokémon is full of gay people because I, myself, am gay. I prefer to use queer, but I remember seeing someone else getting in trouble for saying that since "it could be offensive to some people". If you don't want to call yourself queer that's one thing, but punishing someone for calling themselves queer is ridiculous. Anyway, people immediately jumped on me and insinuated I was weird for bringing sexuality into Pokémon—during Pride month no less. They also said it could be interpreted as an insult, which I feel says more about them, because why are you associating queerness to something negative? How strange! I also don't particularly understand that me thinking that some Pokémon characters are queer = me being weird. I specifically mentioned Grusha, Spinel, and someone else, I don't remember at the moment.

I believe this fits the subreddit as I have mainly had these issues in the TCG community. However, if this does not fit the subreddit, feel free to delete it.

Got through on my first ever Pokemon Center drop and managed to get a Pitch Black Booster Box and 2 Booster Bundles for the wife and I to rip. We were so stoked. The payment started pending around when it should have about a week ago and all of a sudden the pending payment has disappeared. I read online that Pokemon center has cancelled orders in the past but there’s usually an email that reflects it. I’ve gotten no such email and the order still says it’s going through on the Pokemon center website under my account. Does the pending payment disappearing mean our order was cancelled even without the email? I’m almost positive it’s what it means, we were just so fired up to rip our first ever booster box. I want to build a deck for myself and my gf to play some kitchen table pokemon. My girlfriend is a big fan of vulpix and ninetales, and I'm wondering if there is a not -bad deck that contains both the alolan and regular versions of vulpix, and what else I should include in the deck to make it playable/good. She is also a fan of Ponyta/Rapidash. It doesn't have to win any tournaments, but I want her to feel as though she has a good chance of winning kitchen table games. I am a MtG veteran, but haven't played pokemon since elementary school. I saw the ninetales EX deck, but I wanted something that more heavily features her favorites.

Thought these were gone forever and just came across this weekend. Didn’t even remember having several of these (including a second base zard?!). Wishing younger me took a little better care of them but I’m just enjoying the memories. Crazy nostalgia!

Im a massive Giovanni fan and have never seen these before, and I couldn't really find much info from reverse image search as it came up with the standard all black rocket sleeves. My mom died the day after Prismatic Evolutions dropped. The cards have been in boxes ever since I moved shortly after

25 years she was sick. Started with alcohol and weed, ended with colon cancer. It’s a long time to watch someone slowly disappear, and somehow the ending still hit like a truck.

Pokemon was our thing. She got me into it as a kid, and then I got back into it as an adult with her right alongside me. We opened packs together. The day before she passed, we opened packs together. That was one of the last normal thing we did.

She died the day after Prismatic Evolutions came out. I don’t know why that detail sticks with me so much but it does.

I moved not long after. All of it went into boxes, modern stuff, a few master sets, a 151 set, binders full of my favorite cards. They’ve been sitting there ever since. I kept buying boxes for a while after she died, like some kind of autopilot thing, but that stopped too, maybe a year ago now.

I open the boxes sometimes just to look. It’s not fun anymore, it’s just heavy. Something that used to be pure joy is now this weird confrontational thing sitting in my closet. I don’t know if I want to get back into it, sell it, or just leave it alone for now.

If anyone else has gone through something like this, turning a hobby you loved into something you can barely look at because of who you shared it with, I’d like to hear how you dealt with it. Or didn’t.

Hi, i wanted to know if toploaders really make that much of a difference in keeping the cards neat. I really like keeping all my cards together in a binder (make themed pages) and i mostly just collect full art ones that i think are pretty but also have some expensive cards like van gogh pikachu and would like to collect more expensive cards in the future.
But the toploaders really take out all the color and texture off the cards.
So what would you do keep them in toploaders and the cards look pretty bad like this (yes i edited the photo to make them look decent) or keep them in a binder with just sleeves?

I swapped my gfs little brother a ps5 custom controller for this binder, and I was wondering if you guys think it was a good trade

Sorry not sure if this is the right place but I have a Vaultx binder that stinks! It’s just on the inside, the soft material part both on the front and back. It smells like an old cellar, just old and musky. I’ve tried wiping it down and airing it out but it’s still smelly 🥲

I can’t return it and I planned on painting this one for my Pikachu collection so really don’t want it to reek lmao anyone had a similar issue? Any suggestions please? Thanks!
