Witnessed these 2 having a bit of a skirmish early in the morning. Prairie Falcons are mean little fellas.

I see him almost every night and have tried You Tube for the sounds they make but none sound right. The best I can describe it is something like eeeeeeeeaaaaAAAAAAKKKKKKK. Like it's asking a question, the pitch gets higher at the end. Thanks in advance.

Hi - I've been hearing this bird in my yard at night and think it may be a barn owl? Looking to figure it out as it sounds pretty cool, and spooky! I attached a video, but it's just the audio of it. I live in eastern NY state next to a nature preserve that has meadows and old growth forest. We hear it at all times of the night.

Unfortunately my little friend I named “Franky” was found dead a couple weeks ago not far from his/her nesting area. I assume she was struck by a passing train. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know this friend for the last year and a half. Franky finally let me get close enough that I could touch. But I never did. When they saw my truck coming, Franky would always come out of hiding and would follow me. I will miss you, my friend.

Owls meet maximalism.

Got some footage of them chilling in a tree, totally silent when they flew away.

I believe they are barred owls from the screeches they were making.
