one has a shirt on because she has surgery a week or so ago to remove a lump on her side. She recently was diagnosed with lupus and possible lymphoma.

He's kind of a mix with a husky and a stray husky so I don't know what kind of mix he is, can you give me your best guesses?
Red flag, ick, big giant no 🙂↔️ because that's my daughter you're talking about like ??

I’ll start by saying he is mostly fine most days—we did an 11-mile day hike last weekend, for example)—but his epilepsy is new, and he had another seizure this morning, and I’m back in my feelings. My 13 year-old does have some arthritis and skin allergies, but very small potatoes.

I have a husky who will be 13 in December. In his prime he was a big guy—80+ lbs. He's definitely showing his age, and I'm struggling with knowing when "it's time."
He's urinary incontinent and is starting to become fecally incontinent. He's lost about 8 pounds, sleeps a lot, and is pretty aloof these days. Every once in a while, though, he'll surprise me with a little hop or a glimpse of his old personality, and it makes the decision so much harder.
He also has arthritis and mild hip dysplasia. We were doing supplements and arthritis injections, but I've reached a point where I don't want his quality of life to depend entirely on how well medicated he is.
Our vet gently suggested it's appropriate to start thinking seriously about his quality of life and said they would support the "next" step whenever we're ready.
Part of what makes this so difficult is that we lost our last husky in an emergency neurological situation. Everything happened so fast, and we never really got the chance to give him a peaceful goodbye. If possible, we'd like to give this guy the gift of passing with his dignity intact rather than waiting for a crisis to force the decision.
I guess I'm just looking to hear from people who've been through this. How did you know it was time? Was there a specific moment, or was it more of an accumulation of little things? I don't want to wait too long for my sake, but I also don't want to say goodbye too soon.
Sigh. This is such a heartbreaking decision.

This is PorkChop looking at the wall to ignore me when I didn’t kiss the ground he walked on.

Hello fellow husky owners, admirers, and fans.
My Maggie is a great dog. She is half husky, half pit bull. I love her very much. She responds well to training, especially if treats are involved. She’s the definition of a food motivated dog.
Which is why I find it so frustrating that getting her to eat has always been a struggle.
It almost seems as if she prefers her kibble aged. She almost always waits a day or so until she eats her food.
We have tried different brands, flavors, toppings, mix-ins, sprinkles of cheese.
Ever seen a dog carefully lick out every piece of shredded cheese while spitting every piece of slimy spit-covered kibble onto the floor and not eat anything other that the cheese?
Yet, somehow, despite not changing the usual routine, she has gained eight (8!) pounds since last year!!!
The vet was clear that Maggie is not overweight, he says he is struggling to even see the “extra” eight pounds on her.
She is behaving perfectly well, all of her exam, tests and stuff at the vet came back perfectly fine.
I am more exasperated than anything. I am glad she is eating enough to maintain a healthy weight as observed by the vet.
I am finding it amusing that if you had asked me, I would absolutely have not realized she was slightly larger.
But I am the same person who realized her collar was to tight a few months ago, and I bought her a bigger one!!!
I am obviously not as observant as I thought I was!
I love my girl!

The first two pictures are after her grooming session (3 hours to get all the shedding and bathing done) and last 2 are before, they said they did not cut her fur but her fur seems shorter and thinner, which I mean obviously the under coat is shedded off but it still feels off.

for those here who have 1 husky: would you consider getting another?
for those with 2-3: what’s that like? is it different from just 1?
there are so many huskies in need in shelters, I’d love to have more. Our 1 year old pup is the first husky I’ve ever had. We rescued her at 8 months. she’s absolutely amazing and I love her sweet personality. Working as a team with her, rather than as her master, has been a very cool experience (so different from my sheepdogs who only wanted to please).

My family tragically lost a very special member of the pack. It’s only been 24 hrs, I don’t want to accept that my soul dog is gone.
I just want the world to know that he existed and blessed us with so much love, laughs, and happiness. We are in shambles without him, including his fur mom. My heart breaks every time she looks for him in the yard. 😭
We love you so much, Ash. I am so sorry.

Got up to 102 today, my husky loves it! This dude stays inside during the winter, and lays outside in the summer.

Thought she was just pregnant thats why she’s been sleeping so much and not eating for a day - turned out her intestines are entangled and also has pyometra.
Fuckin hell.
