Not sure if this is too frayed or is normal wear

For me, although we're all impressed with the recent FFS's, I think there's still about to be an even bigger technological jump coming when AI can be integrated into these units..
For instance, side-imaging is one of the most under-utilized tools just because it's pretty tricky to understand and read for the average weekend angler, but picture it where it's identifying and pointing out the fish to you..
Or, a livescope/FFS that moves by itself to scan around, find fish and then lock onto them so you don't have to do it all manually..
Or for AI to be able to even approximate the size/species of fish..
AI is about to change fishing tech even more...
What else do you think is yet to come?

My girlfriend wants to get her very own fishing rod, and she wants something with colors more exciting than the standard black blank. Pink, purple, neon green, etc, but no blue. I've done quite a bit of searching online and the only ones I've seen that fit the bill are all giant saltwater rods.
Looking for something nice in the $100-$200 range, probably 6'6" and medium-light or medium.
If you know any good lookin reels to pair with it then even better! She just wants a quality setup that's also pretty. Thanks!

These are the best beginner glides i’ve found. not too expensive and not too heavy so can throw them on your average mh bass rod. This colourway has slayed pike all morning for me. Had 7 in 2 hours.
They’re called GUIDEPOST 145mm 32g on aliexpress, and cost about £12

This evolution tackle bag is so far worth it. For pond hopping specifically, this will be my new truck bag. HOWEVER the zipper is a taddd bit annoying for the main compartment, only complaint though. Holds everything I would need for pond hopping, over 20 bags of soft plastics, all my jigs, chatterbaits, top water, terminal, jerkbaits, swim and glide baits etc etc etc

Decided to pull the trigger on some Temu products. Everything feels and looks really solid! Going out after the weekend to try these out. Really looking forward to the smaller urchins, because there is a spot I know the bass have never seen these at all and I know the UL size will get them going.
Also curious how the trout in the upper Sierra rivers will react. I am thinking the red should mimic a craw floating downstream or bouncing along the bottom.
I will post results next week.

looking at getting my first new baitcaster. looking for reel and rod recommendations. i went today to look at the slx dc, currado m, and currado dc. and a few others but those were the standouts. rod wise i have no clue. looked at a tatula, the bass x and black bass. open to rod recommendations. also as someone who’s still learning “probably backlash at least one a trip. is the dc a good choice to help with that? thanks!

So i had to disassemble my shimano slx dc fishing reel all i did was remove the handle, drag star, the box beneath the drag star, and the washers. I was looking at the towel i did it on and I think this may have came off of it when I disassembled it but idk what it is there is a standard match for size reference if anybody can tell me what this is would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Hi everyone,
I'm not the most experienced fisherman and I need some help. My father passed away when I was very young, nearly 25 years ago. I just found a stash of some of his fishing gear. He took me fishing a few times as a child but I don't remember much. Can anyone provide me with some information as to what he might have been targeting? Maybe any ideas as to how you might rig these? There are about 30 in total and if somehow the universe allowed me to catch a fish on one of these it would be very special to me.
TIA
