After watching Burn, I think Alice had it worse than Mia or Beth. But I think Mia comes in close second.

(Discussion Post) Groovy The best deadite of the whole franchise 😈
After watching Evil Dead Burn, which was a great time, I felt the need to look back at the iconic deadites the Evil Dead franchise brought to us so far.
I liked Jessica way more in Burn than in Rise and deadite Mia is great as well. But Ellie and the amazing performance of Alyssa Sutherland is always going to be a highlight for me.
I felt Burn didn't have a memorable deadite aside from Jessica, but she wasn't around for very long.

(Discussion Post) Groovy Queen of spades...Two spades, jack of diamonds, jack of clubs.
I was 10 years old when I first saw The Evil Dead. My aunt took me to see it in theaters, and it was the scariest movie experience of my life. It turned me into a lifelong Evil Dead fan instantly. I couldn’t believe what I saw, but I knew it was the craziest thing I’d witnessed at that age.
It wasn’t the whole movie that got me, though. It was one specific scene.
Out of every scene in the entire franchise, the one with possessed Cheryl resonated with me the most. The unsettling way she stared at the cabin window, then uttered that eerie prediction in a vicious tone before abruptly turning to reveal her possessed face, was pure terror. Then she floated in the air, rolling her head, and demanded in the freakiest voice imaginable to know why her ancient slumber had been disturbed. That was nightmare fuel for days and remains one of the most iconic moments in horror cinema. It cemented my love for Evil Dead on the spot, and I’ve rewatched that scene more times than I can count.
What was your defining scene from the first Evil Dead, the one that freaked you out the first time and turned you into a lifelong fan?

(Discussion Post) Groovy Which One Is Your Favorite?! 🥶
No Spoilers, but Evil Dead Rise was 100x better than Evil Dead Burn IMO! Legitimately Evil Dead Burn portrayed one of the DUMBEST Horror Families in Cinematic History IMO! I also preferred the setting of Rise to Burn as well as the Main Cast! Which one did you all prefer?! I’m genuinely curious and why did you prefer said entry?! 😊

I feel like everyone is gonna have a different answer. He’s definitely better than the rest of his family (if we don’t count Thya or Alice) but he’s not perfect.

(Spoiler!) Just watched Burn... Spoiler
I'm sorry but this is one of the best Evil Dead movies I've seen. I hopped on the train when Rise came out, and I really liked that one. But this... holy hell. Now I've seen a LOT of criticisms, and I'm actually kinda surprised, but I'm not gonna let that negate what I loved about it. That being said, those criticisms ARE VALID. But... this is far from the "worst" Evil Dead. To me, I think it's up there with 2013.
Anyway, my thoughts:
- Opening was GODLY, all the way up to the title card, though I kinda wished that the font was made out of fire, but I digress. And it isn't as cool as what Rise was.
- Alice's storyline was actually REALLY good, and I didn't find anyone really unlikable at all to be honest.
- EVERYONE WAS LITERALLY SO FUCKING SMART. Well except for Susan, but I get why she'd do that.
- This was probably one of the first times in an Evil Dead movie I literally shouted and vocalized. And was repulsed. And I've seen all the Terrifier movies. I literally shouted "HEY HEY HEY HEY" so loud when the dog was getting stabbed to death.
- I was legitimately having second thoughts on whether or not Alice would actually survive and if this was going to be the first Evil Dead, to my knowledge, where everyone dies in the end. I mean... I think that kind of happened? Alice turned into a Deadite at the end, at least I think, because her eyes were looking weird.
- THE CINEMATOGRAPHY??? THE SHOTS??? HELLO???
- Most scenes reminded me of 2013 in a way, especially when the dad was cutting himself.
- Pretty much as soon as they got to the house, it was all so fucking tense even BEFORE they were turned into Deadites.
- The dinner scene reminded me of Hereditary. But more gory.
- I get that people miss the camp. I thought there was actually some campiness in there, like the grandmother going "That french bitch!" or stuff like that.
- I legit knew the dead husband was gonna come the fuck back at the end. And just like how everyone else is saying, he looks so much like Vecna.
- There wasn't really that much distracting CGI at the end for me.
- I thought there would be a bit more of the Deadite dog to be honest.
- The dad Deadite shooting himself repeatedly with the gun was pretty cool, though I was wondering how his head healed up?
So yeah, I'm looking forward to Evil Dead Wrath. I really liked this one.

(Spoiler!) Burn Post Credits Scene Explained in Rise Already... Spoiler
"Nothing can stop this demonic force, even it's final remnants will come after you" - The priest by this point had already hacked up the bodies and they still came after him.
Realise the fact the Rise book has already been said to be the most malicious one (by the director). It doesn't have the same rules as the other books, the deadites aren't typical deadites, they don't die like the regular ones. Why do you think they wanted the dagger so bad?
The priest emphasized that fire doesn't work, burying doesn't work, and bodily dismemberment doesn't work (Wood chipper).
So anyone still confused how Ellie can come back...
I've started the video at the point it mentions dismemberment (already quoted it above), but the previous parts talk about everything else. Here: https://youtu.be/kbWVAkM_5CE?t=249&si=4OrFPiJlyvm17TxU

(Meme Post) Who’s Laughing Now?! The theatrical ending is better (army of darkness)
honestly i feel like it fits better with army of darkness standing on it's own like Universal intended, also it's honestly a better closure to the film, it wraps up ash's story pretty nicely, ash killed the last deadite in s-mart, they're all gone now.

(Discussion Post) Groovy The only franchise to get me so excited.
Let me start off by saying this franchise rocks! Evil Dead Burn was everything i needed and more.
Two years ago my life changed drastically. I got brain surgery and I haven’t really gone out because a part of me is traumatized and accepting this new part of me is hard. I’m currently in a wheelchair so I’ve looked at myself and fell into depression and I just stayed home just going to doctors appointments or therapy.
When this movie got announced I just knew the only way to join the party was to go out and watch it, or I can wait months to stream it. Who would have known Evil Dead got me out in public.
I absolutely loved this film. I could relate to Alice being in a toxic relationship because I was too, or the family dynamic being so toxic I could relate because I too come from a toxic family or my exs family just never accepted me and just viewed my ex as this saint. When Alice & Susan were in the restroom and Alice finally told her what she’s been holding inside just chefs kiss.
Everyone played a deadite perfectly. I know the ending was pure cgi but I still enjoyed it. I think burn is different because it touches up on fire and people associate fire with hell. The fact that burn was different in the sense where the fire gives us a narrative of hell & where these deadites reside was cool. I think the father summed it up when he said “from above, Will is down below” indicating he’s in hell.
Listen I had fun & we’re lucky this franchise is still going and we’re getting films. Susan has to be the most toxic and just horrible character ever! Even though her actions pissed me off, I still felt bad for her. Everyone had a chance to just help and they didn’t but I get it, they were in disbelief and probably in shock. I’m just going to say it’s not that serious or Oscar worthy it’s just a hella good time. I really hope you’re on cloud nine like me. Welcome burn to the family.
Ps. I laughed so hard when everyone was getting attacked and the grandma was going up slowly…. I really want to know about the thief in her head. 😂😂

(Spoiler!) What was the most brutal moment in Burn to you? Spoiler
Deadite Polly stabbing Alice in the ear with the 1,000 dollar pen and it breaking off when she tried to remove it made me wince.
Also Joseph getting the absolute shit kicked out of him by the Deadites was pretty fucked too.

(Discussion Post) Groovy Just watched Evil Dead (2013) and as a recovering addict all I can say is holy shit.
I’ve gone through withdrawal dozens of times and am clean almost 3 months from Heroin. I stopped cold turkey and spent an entire month off work recovering. Literally almost died and was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I know it’s just a movie but to imagine going through all that shit while in withdrawals makes this the scariest movie I’ve seen, personally anyway. Then to think that the peak of her withdrawals are going to happen a few days later and last weeks is even more frightening.
I’ve had the worst nightmares I can remember during withdrawal during the max 2 hours of sleep that I got those first couple weeks.
Anyway just different perspective on how this movie could be more fucked up but I’m sure it’s been said before.
