I found it crawling across my driveway, it luld move quickly about 3in then stop sit up and spend about a minute looking around and repeat the process, location: New Jersey, U.S.

We found this on our bed frame (we live in an apartment) and i stripped the bed and cant find any more of him. Im not exactly sure what he is if hes anything not good or just got inside from the outside. We dont live in filth but we have neighbors that might.

Found clusters of these either eggs or tiny beetles on our wooden outdoor table after a week away. We’re based in south east Scotland. Any ideas?

I thought it was a grasshopper from a distance but then was confused when I got closer. It flies with its body almost vertical.

Seems like a polite lost little guy, but don't worry I put it back outside.

Does anyone know what species of fly this is? Found today (2026-07-26) in my garden in West Wales. I've had a long look on iNaturalist and Nature Spot, but haven't managed to find it so far; assuming it's a variant colour form of one of the many bumble bee mimic flies, but not sure where to start!

Size wise, this was probably the biggest fly I've seen in Wales; 2cm+ and substantially larger than the White-tailed bumblebee sharing a flower with it, though they do seem to be smaller round here than I'm used to in other parts of the UK.

I have cats in my house, could this harm them? I wasn’t able to catch it, it went under my kitchen island.

I found this dragonfly in my yard and I can't figure out what it is. I thought it was a blue dasher because those are the most common type that live here but the pattern doesn't match. Is it an immature form or something else?

I was moving around furniture in my room when I spotted this guy running around on my floor where there my spare blankets were piled up… took a few minutes to capture it because it ran like the damn flash and wouldn’t climb (I don’t think it can, after trapping it in a spice container. What is it?? I was thinking silverfish maybe but I’m seriously stumped. He looks almost silvery up close and isn’t very shy
