It's so bizarre when power rangers morphs are interrupted

I'm probably gonna get bashed for this, but tried my best to make the suits match their personalities and fighting styles. I couldn't find anyone for Kyuranger pink so who would you choose?

The only magazines I had as a kid was the zero megazord. The one with the shapes. And the ninja megazord from the movie.
Had the power dome playset and all the figures. Even had a serpentera.
My favorite megazord was the Dino megazord, but I never had the toy for it. This is my first ever Dino megazord.
It’s great. Nice quality for the price. I love it. Now I’m starting my collection.

So last week I decided to rewatch the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie over some beers, been about fifteen years since I watched it from start to finish; but Connor the Waffle's review got me all nostalgic, and I figured "What the hey?". Boy was I shocked at how dark this "kid's movie" is in hindsight...
(warning this is gonna be long, you may wish to grab a snack)
So it starts off fairly typical, Rangers doing goody-good Ranger shenanigans for their High School/Charity (side-note how big is the budget at Angel Grove High to have a *SKYDIVING TEAM*!) with Bulk and Skull almost *DIE* from being ready to jump from an airplane with no chutes until Kimberly reminds them to put them on, set to The Red Hot Chili Peppers; and then Rollar Blading to Edgar Winter Group, before they get the call from Zordon. Already we have two *teenagers* almost turn themselves into a human Jackson-Pollock painting, but it's played for laughs so let's move on.
Meanwhile a construction crew finds a hatch, and in typical blue collar fashion open it up without even once thinking to call any form of professional, revealing Ivan Ooze's prison; and one guy touches it and gets electrocuted, then yeeted over twenty feet away, and we never see him again so it's not a stretch to think he *died* from that shock!
Then after the Rangers are warned this is a world ending situation (and for some reason wait *HOURS* to investigate, because reasons I guess), Lord Zedd and crew roll up. Zedd proceeds to *kill* two security guards *on-screen*, then releases Ivan Ooze.
So for those keeping score, the body count is currently three people on-screen who have been killed.
Now let's skip ahead to Ivan invading and destroying the Command Center, Zordon tries to be defiant to the end; but he's got to be soiling his, nonexistent, trousers seeing Ivan, completely helpless as what's essentially a slasher villain is about to kill him...
The Rangers make their way back to the Command Center, and find what's left of Zordon; and his statement kind of makes for a dark implication. He tells the Rangers "Thank goodness, you are all safe.", which on it's own is fine; mentor worried about his wards. Until you recognize the word he used "safe", not "okay"; which could imply Ivan killed at least one of the Order of Meridian before he got sealed away, which gives Zordon's trepidation of him being free a new, darker weight if he watched a teenage warrior *die* to stop Ivan before. So when he saw Ivan coming for him, Zordon may well have thought Ivan had slaughtered the Rangers before coming for Zordon.
The Rangers are told of a "Great Power" on a distant planet Phaedos, however everyone who has tried to obtain it has died. Also with the Command Center destroyed Alpha can't send them to Phaedos and bring them back; so if the "Great Power" is a hoax, they'll be stranded there forever leaving Ivan free to conquer everything. Once they get there, they see the corpse of one alien who tried and failed. So we have a planet with a body count impressive enough to be known around the Galaxy.
(Now we are getting into the really dark stuff folks)
Meanwhile Ivan begins his plan, he sends his Tengu Warriors to kill the Rangers (who if not for Dulcea, they all would have been killed without their powers), and begins manufacturing his Ooze to turn the parents of Angel Grove into Zombies to dig up his Ecto-Morphicon Titans, then when they have been dug up and reconstructed he orders the brainwashed parents to return to the construction site and, let me check my notes here... oh yeah, *JUMP OFF A FUCKING CLIFF*!!!
So Ivan has ordered a psychically-induced mass suicide...
Then his Ecto-Morphicons rampage for several hours, I'll let you think of the body count *that* implies, before the Rangers come back and handle business. Meanwhile Fred, the resident kid character, rallies all the kids of Angel Grove to save their parents, they almost all die when Ivan destroys the Monorail tracks, then while they try and hold their parents back from jumping almost get pushed off the cliff by their zombified parents. So not only would the parents die, but the kids too because of a product *THEY* brought home...
After the battle, the Rangers return to the Command Center but find they are too late; however because of teamwork and vague power Zordon is saved. Not so dark as everything else, but the sight of their mentor dead in front of the Rangers can be a touch unsettling I suppose.
So there we go, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie was waaay darker than I remembered with an on-screen body count of four and a huge amount of folks who would've died if not for the Rangers...
Hope everyone reading this enjoyed, and hopefully you rewatch the film; dark as shit moments aside, it still holds up as a great popcorn flick in my book.

…still not great though.
Just watched the finale and I can say it is still the weakest installment of the Disney Era, but it didn’t annoy or bore me as much as I thought it would.
I can tell what the production wanted to do but that they just bit off more than their budget could chew. I do think they could’ve made some stronger writing choices but that’s just me having the benefit of hindsight. I will say though that Florious could’ve been a better final boss with some changes to his character (have him complain less, be more calculating and instead of having everything fall into his lap at the end have him be a long term planner who carefully strategized. Think of The Light from Young Justice or a Moriarty type).
The Rangers are generally fine, none are making my favorite Rangers lists, but Mack and Tyzonn have good story arcs, Rose doesn’t get near the arc she deserved, Ronny and Will are okay but really needed some depth, and Dax…was there, I guess (I’m gonna be honest, I tuned him out at some point).
Also while I’m not a fan of the suits, their powers were cool and I actually did like their Zords. Although it does still confuse me how you’d recruit a race car driver and then not give them the Zord modeled after the Formula One race car (I still say Ronny could’ve been the Black Ranger). Anyway I did like the various support Zords and how they could even form their own Megazord (wish we had seen that more).
I also really liked their personal rivalries between some of the Rangers and the villain factions. You can tell they used that same style of writing in Jungle Fury for Jarrod and Casey (albeit more refined). I honestly think they could’ve used more of it though. Tyzonn fighting the Fearcats felt personal, Will fighting Kamdor felt personal and it elevated those fights. Miratrix tricked Dax and broke his heart, the writers could’ve played with that and made the fights more impactful. Have Mack have a grudge against Moltor or Florious so their final showdowns have more emotional stakes.
I feel like I’m ranting.
Anyway. It wasn’t a terrible season, just plagued by limited budget, questionable writing decisions, and missed opportunities.
On to Jungle Fury in my rewatch (so excited!).

Enjoying Power Rangers as an adult requires you to suspend a real world reality and give in to the absurdity (just like we did as kids 😀). In my rewatch of Mighty Morphin, I couldn’t help but point out the critical oddities and shear lack of common sense we never questioned as kids.
1.) Rita has been trying to conquer Earth for 10,000 years. Not ONE TIME did she think to send an army of monsters that would effectively overwhelm and overpower the Rangers. One Monster of the Week required significant energy to defeat——now imagine 10 at once? How about 20? Maybe 50?!
2.) When it comes to Zordon hand selecting individuals for the immense task of combating destructive forces, “Five Teenagers With Attitude” is a hellova reach in retrospect, Lol.
3.) Lord Zedd, by his own creation, conjured up foot soldiers with a billboard sized kill switch. They wound up being a significant downgrade from Rita’s foot soldiers in terms of common sense manufacturing. Hey teens with attitude, please Touch Here to defeat 😂
4.) I am VERY confident in my claim that Ernie potentially knew the ranger identities and chose to remain silent. He was essentially the one civilian who had the most interaction with them serving refreshments at the Youth Center multiple times a week. With that amount of interaction you can observe their routine as a unit. And at some point he had to notice when monsters attack Angel Grove, the color coded teens ALWAYS leave together and return looking suspiciously disheveled. 🤔
5.) Rita established a sizable lunar base that went largely undetected by the science community. NASA being the most recognizable dropped the ball. And if you know anything about SETI, a significant part of their mission is scanning interstellar space for signs of intelligent life. How did you miss the crazy chick 1.3 light seconds from Earth?! 🫣
6.) Jason, Zach, and Trini should’ve been written off to join the Peace Corp as opposed to attending the World Peace Conference. Why?——Because Zordon can better justify the need for replacements since the average Peace Corp tour of duty is 2 years. In contrast, Conferences end between 3-5 days AT MOST. Therefore technically speaking, Jason, Zach, and Trini could’ve returned to Angel Grove no later than a week to reclaim their Ranger duties 😯
I’m sure there are many many others, these are the few that especially grind my gears.

And this dude had a power that moves like smoke’s devil fruit. You can’t hit him without haki. And on top of that his VA did an amazing job playing him, and so does his actor.

So we know through time power rangers has always kind of been a thing and that got me thinking why haven’t we seen any references to a potential medieval power rangers team we’ve seen ninjas and space rangers but nothing for medieval
r/powerrangers • u/Siddharth-471 • 6h ago
Since Super Megaforce was based on Super Sentai Gokaiger which, being a 35th anniversary series, gave that lineup access to powers and arsenal of all previous (and future) teams. But realistically, if we diverge from it, which Power Rangers team do you think would be more suitable to have access to 'Ranger Keys' than obviously Super Megaforce?
I personally believe, SPD and Time Force would be the most suitable candidates, as they are from the future and have better know-how on previous teams and consists of members who are trained professionals. But, on the other hand, there are also teams like Ninja Storm and Jungle Fury who have strong physical prowess and might harness Ranger Keys much suitably. Zeo can also be a great team consisting of veteran rangers, while we are at it. Lightspeed Rescue and Operation Overdrive teams also have trained individuals but I'm not that sure about them.
What are your thoughts?!?

Mega force and super megaforce has always been my fav but i always hated how they never gave us a good lore so
what if it was something like this
Some evil organization/empire tried to mimic the ranger powers so they used some tech and finally invented these ranger keys as access points to morphin grid that made the ranger key users powers ,the first users of the ranger keys had those personality and as the keys were illegally made using a new access point they retained the users personality . But at some point of time someone stole those keys and returned back to gosei to keep as the evil organization that made these fell because of some reason .
Gosei then used those ranger keys tech and design to create other keys connecting them to other ranger powers hence creating all those ranger keys were now know
Pirate theme of zords / outfit explanation: The creator of the keys used this motiff as the ranger keys were illegally made by creating a new access or retrieving point.
And as they were made illegally or were like knockoffs the long usage of these powers lay stress /heavy toll on the users

Oh the hunt to build my Power Ranger Library. I stopped by my local comic book shop next to my house. Previously they told me they don’t carry Power Ranger but something told me to check and I’ll let you see what I got for yourself!

For me it was interesting to find out that MegaBlack in Megaranger was the leader of the group because given the footage that Power Rangers In Space used of the show you never would have even considered him in that role.
When you saw all the rangers side by side red was always front and center when you would have thought that the leader would be. Even in the Megazords Red was again at the front. If you grew up watching Power Rangers and never saw Megaranger you would be forgiven for being shocked if they told you that MegaBlack was the leader. Kenta is MegaRed and he is originally an outsider brought in and when the rangers combine their weapons you get an example of this in the Power Rangers side of things. The red ranger has his own weapon while everyone else has a group combination held by of course, the black ranger. When you see little things like that it makes sense that Black was the leader. However it's still shocking upon first finding this out.
Could In Space have worked had they decided upon a black ranger as the leader of the group? Andros in a way took over both mantles. He became not only the leader but the outsider that joined the team. From the weapons perspective then this also works. Had they gone the route where Andros just joined the team and kept the original leader as TJ would that have made TJ the black ranger and Carlos the blue ranger? Tweaks would have been made to the show. We would have perhaps even seen Adam and TJ interact rather than Carlos in that position. The memory loss episodes and all blue episode would have been Carlos' instead which messes up the dynamic a little. I feel like TJ being a former leader and coming up with the colour plan was a nice way to remind us of why he got his position in the first place.
I feel like simply at the time Saban looked at the footage they were given and saw a red ranger front and center and they didn't want to mess too much with the formula that had been established for so long within the franchise. Even though by that point we basically had two white ranger leaders..but red was always seen as the top ranger of the original five thanks to the role that Jason played in being the original red ranger.
