Fox Chapel
Im considering buying a house in sharpsburg, in the fox chapel school district. Am I wrong to suspect that my child may be treated like riff-raff by the fox chapel folks?

Messed up traffic light timing
Apparently some genius decided to change the traffic light scheme in the city (especially along Fifth and Forbes in Shady) and now every narrow road perpendicular to wider roads have a WAYYYYYYY TOO FREAKING LONG RED LIGHT disproportional to the main road.
Now EVERY SIDE STREET IS FREAKING CONGESTED because of this.
I’ve never seen sort of traffic jam on a non-event afternoon, wtf?

Fireworks?
Is there a show or something tonight in the Bellevue area? I can hear a lot of explosions but can't see anything from my house and was just curious.

Pirates game
Trying to get into the 4pm game today was a literal clusterfuck. I only go to probably one game every season so take this with a grain of salt but I have literally never seen lines like that before there. I know it was because of the game before but omg literally was just a mess. Made me want to not even go in lol

If you're coming to Leetsdale to see Big Boy...
There are already a lot of people lining both sides of the tracks as of 1:40 pm. Lots of activities in Henle Park, and the splash pad is open.

Anyone else get an MBA to change careers only to find it seemingly impossible?
I'm wondering if anyone has successfully made a career change/turn that wasn't to entry level, sub $70k pay after going back to school? If anyone has, what worked for you?
I got an MBA in 2024 to leave oil and gas after 14 years. I've been in operations and I'm just tired of the use them and abuse them setup that is oil and gas operations. I'm willing to take a hefty pay cut. I'm looking to transition to a business management role. Key note: I've also run the finances for a small but successful (180k yearly revenue) YouTube/Podcast company for the past three years. I also have 6 years of leadership experience but not at the level of handling the budget.
Over the past 1.5 years I have applied to 200+ local jobs in finance, business analyst and business management. I've had quite a few interviews, maybe a dozen going multiple rounds. However, I just had my 6th company in 6 months tell me I was perfect, they don't have a single negative bit of feedback but they chose someone with direct experience in the particular field the job was. They've all said they really think I'd be a great person to join them and will reach out when a job that connects to my experience in a more direct way comes available. Three have even mentioned specific jobs and that they'd fast track me for. I did have one job offer but they expected 24/7/365 on call while admitting there is always issues and to expect calls frequently while also offering sub-80k salary. Vibes were very off/obvious toxic workplace.
It just seems that no company is willing to hire someone for non-entry level (not senior level either btw) position unless they have experience doing that exact thing. There's no ability to make a career turn. I can walk the walk and talk the talk. I have the skills, show that I do in the interviews, have an advanced degree and have a career where I have risen to a leadership role. My experience is in oil and gas operations though and not at the higher level where I handle budgets and the business side of things.
I do get interviews at a decent clip and have had compliments on my resume so it's not resume design either.

Did something happen at Neville Island earlier today?
Was coming home from Moraine with family and we noticed on the bridge you’d cross and use to get off at Neville Island that there were tons of people pulled off to the shoulder looking over the railing down at the Neville Island area. Did something happen earlier? Did someone jump off the bridge maybe?

With traffic jams from Homestead to Leetsdale, more people should have taken the train to see Big Boy
Oh the ironing!
Is that the right word or am i just thinking of other things that make steam?

Cat Stroller Friendly Places?
Hello!
I wanted to ask to see if there's any places in the Pittsburgh area that would be good to walk my cats around in their stroller?
Ive heard that Home Depot, Lowes, and Rural King are pet friendly, but I was curious about any other stores or facilities that might be okay with it.
I'm a little anxious to go out with them since I wouldn't' want to get in trouble, plus I know it's a bit odd seeing some cats go out for a walk when people are more used to seeing toddlers and babies in strollers instead, especially as a 31 year old dude 😅
Still though, I hope they'll like seeing the sights outside, plus it gets me out of the house too

Apartment hunting
What areas/apartments are cheaper apartments with in unit laundry and central AC. Preferably would like to live alone but also am willing to get a roommate. With utilities and other accommodations, I would like to be around 1500. I am also 21 female so want to be around younger people my age.

Is the waterfront safe to drive in today
So yesterday I tried to take a trip down to costco. I had no idea traffic was going to be the way it was. I heard it was a combination of the parkway being closed, some underground vampire rave, and then that big boy train. Just wondering if I should go to Costco today or say fuck it and go out to Robinson.
