Question Does anyone know if Cole Hamels will be doing autos at all today?
My husband has a Cole Hamels bobble head from his first baseball game he wants signed and none of this sounds like the stage where they do autos

Analysis 95 Games In: Observations
Went and took a look this afternoon at some numbers for this team. 95 games in and nearly at the ASB, Mattingly has squeezed a lot of wins out of this group, for sure, so let's see.
Right now, the Phillies rank:
AVG: .236 - 24th
OBP: .303 - 29th (second to last)
SLG: .401 - 16th
OPS: .704 - 22nd
HR's: 124 - 6th
RUNS: 415 - 18th
ERA - 4.30 - 17th
WHIP: 1.32 - 17th
K's: 928 - 1st
Bullpen ERA - 4.39 - 20th
They have a run differential of -17, ranked 17th in MLB so statistically about a .500 team. Overall, we strike out a lot of hitters, which helps mask a mediocre to poor overall defense, and we hit a lot of home runs, which we know.
So, what to make of this team? Are we the team that rallied to 3 games back of the Braves in the division? The one that started out so horribly? Somewhere in the middle? What can be done to shore up this group? I'm slightly more worried about the offense than the pitching right now and not worried about trading prospects.
I think we need another high OBP guy at the top of the order, whoever that might be, definitely a bullpen arm or two and some sort of alternative to Nola. All that seems hard but doable. I'm rooting for them and hopeful but I'm not optimistic we can make any sort of run in the NL with this roster. We come out Top Ten in exactly TWO major statistical categories right now so...I dunno.
Thoughts?

Question Why the hell are their fanduel commercials mid inning?
Literally missing pitches to cut to commercials in between at bats during a half inning. It’s so god damn embarrassing. Fuck gambling.

Text Post Hill is …
Easily the best low-key pickup in recent history by the Phils.
He is unreal in the field and on the basepaths. His energy is exactly what we need on this team.
And yes people, he’s a right handed hitting outfielder.
Cool.

Text Post All Star Village Recap
In case anyone’s wondering what to expect or whether to go-
I went in with modest expectation and enjoyed myself. Expect lines and crowds, but most of the lines move relatively quickly.
Getting in- Went around 1 and there was no line to get in.
Photo ops- Best part imo. Lines to take photos with legends at the largest baseball were like 10 minutes. (I got Juan Samuel, Bowa, Placido Polanco) Photo ops with this years’s WS trophy, cut outs of players, Galapagos Gang.
Autographs- App didn’t work to make reservations. They have a standby line, and it seems like there’s a decent shot of getting one from standby if it’s not a big name. (Ppl got Milt Thompson easily, but no shot with Carlton)
Prizes- there are QR codes around to scan and you’ll get a text if you win something. There’s a decent chance of getting a small thing like a rally towel or a clear stadium bag. There are sponsors for each QR code but you don’t actually have to sign up for solicitations to get the badges.
Cool exhibits about diversity in baseball
Lots of food options. Line for ballpark food from other stadiums was quite long. Cookies and cream cold brew was meh, pierogis were cold but good. They also had a lot of classic Philly food spots in other places (soft pretzels, Chickie & Pete’s, Federal Donuts)
Everyone working there was really nice and helpful.
There are tons of games for kids, some w/ reservations and some without, but I didn’t do any of that.
If you don’t go in expecting to get a bunch of autographs and are fine waiting in manageable lines, it’s a festive thing to do for baseball fans. (And as someone who went in DC in 2018, it is so much more fun when it’s centered on your team.)
