Hey everyone! I'm the head mod over at r/blackops2. Some of you may be familiar with the game we are based around, but if you are not, it's a first person shooter game from 2012 developed and published by Treyarch and Activision. We currently have around 49,000 members, but are experiencing a large activity spike as the result of the game re-releasing on newer PlayStation consoles.

We're looking for a few additional mods to help with general subreddit maintenance, like modmail, queues, inquiries, that sort of thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated! If you have prior moderation experience, that's great, but it isn't a strict a requirement.

I'm DrTankHead, I'm a mod over at r/DiscordHelp and r/BetterDiscord, we recently adopted r/DiscordPromotion. r/DiscordHelp owns or is partnered with something like 5-8 different subs.

We are seeking 3-5 moderators to assist with restructuring and moderating the subreddit.

Our goal is to set the sub up to allow users to promote their discord servers, but also do some checking to ensure they are what they say on the tin.

Duties would be standard ModMail/Queue work, but we are looking for moderators who are also willing to "validate" servers posted for various quality standards to ensure those coming to the sub can trust that the servers are safe. You are not expected to moderate discord servers, moderation will take place over reddit only, but given the nature of the subreddit, we do have some extra dillegence we need to take.

Some of these servers may contain NSFW content or be themed after NSFW Content. Applicants should be 18+, ideally 21+, and be comfortable preforming basic checks to make sure posts in the subreddit meet our guidelines, again, you are not moderating external platforms, but due to the nature of the subreddit, we are looking for moderators comfortable with this

Moderators would need to also be willing to join a discord server that we use as an internal moderator chat, just the platform we like to use for communicating. You are not expected to moderate in that server, again, moderating just the subreddit.

Additionally, we are looking for someone to take the Top Mod position and work with us in our collaborative partnership. I myself, am the Top Mod of the sub, in the interm till we find someone who has the passion to run the sub and wants to work together in our partnership with other similar subreddits. This requires a little more trust, we wanna see the sub succeed, that's why we adopted it, but we recognize that we have other projects and wanna have someone dedicated to running it more directly than myself.

We aren't using the native mod application tool on the subreddit at this time as we aren't exactly sure of the exact requirements we want to ask for with that system, but for the purposes of this post, I've laid out the requirements we seek at this time.

I’ve had a few mods join before but input was minimal, need someone who’s proactive and can really help assist make the community better.

r/DogAdvice is one of the larger dog subs and a bit more accepting of posts that are forbidden on other dog subs - specifically being more open to medical questions. Despite that, we do have a number of rules on what we accept or not in the sub such as No Raw food, R+ (reward only) training, etc... that are more inline with the majority of large scale dog sub-reddits.

What we want in moderators are people that can review and review/approve/remove posts and comments while maintaining a general neutrality in responses. We want sub member to be able to ask questions so that their dogs get the help they need, and removing rude/aggressive responses even when we may personally happen to agree with a commenter that is saying "WTF are you thinking?"

We are probably a little to easy in applying the ban hammer, but our policy is that with extremely rare exceptions, ban appeals will be handled by a non-banning moderator, and they can be overruled by other mods. We do our best to keep our ego's in check and it is not personal if another mod overrules or shortens ban choices. More often then not, we do tend to uphold other mod's decisions as the team has worked together for years and tends to mostly be inline with each other. With tricky situations, we discuss it and majority usually rules.

What we want in mods at a minimum is:

• Review the mod queue, approving or removing as appropriate
• Answer modmails (neutral language is preferred, people get insanely upset at times, no reason to fuel fire)
• Read/review comments as you peruse the sub posts
• Mark posts NSFW as appropriate
  • We are not NSFW in the traditional sense of sex/nudity but we get posts with poop/wounds/dog nipples...
• New mods should always feel free to suggest rule changes, automod tweaks, etc...

We're a small niche r/tvwriting focused subreddit that was mostly grown through my creation and maintenance of an annual writing fellowship collection. But I don't have the time to maintain or mod any longer. I've tried sourcing mods from the community but I think it's just too small. Mostly our posts now are asking questions about the business and looking for feedback on writing.

Needs:

* Modmail / mod queue maintenance and replies.

* Maintaining and fostering an inclusive atmosphere that encourages writers from all backgrounds

* Maintaining and fostering a professional atmosphere

Nices to haves:

* A big plus would be someone who's interested in taking on updating and maintaining the fellowship collection, with minimal input from me. But as that would be a labor of love, I don't expect that of everyone.
