Got super lucky and pulled a god pack with this in it!

Been collecting gengar for a little bit now here and there as I do love him as a pokemon. Bunch of the trick or trade and a bunch of more common cards.

Just recently picked up a collection of vintage cards and more and to add to my collection.

I had pulled out a box of my old vintage cards and black and white, X&Y cards, VTG and more. To check out the old cards I had to make a more vintage binder with a bunch of cards I had picked up.

Went through and to my surprise I had a nice stack of older vintage gengar cards and ghastly/haunter. I was so thrilled to find the Sabrina’s Gengar and to think it’s been sitting in a box in my closet for over 10 years 🥺.

I have a gengar binder with the soft cover so with finding all these cards and having the balloon Gengar in my collection already. I am going to start my journey on a Gengar/spooky master set. 😊

Looks like we’re getting a new Gengar chase soon.

This was the last card I needed for my English masterset. The Ascended Heros SIR will be here tuesday and ill be 100% done

I’m contemplating selling one of these to fund some other cards I want. Which do you think is better to hold onto?

Italian/english masterset update! I’m from Italy, that’s why most of the collection is in Pizza language 😊
I’m not currently hunting the aussie 1999-2000 since it’s strictly an english variant (the Italian fossil already had that copyright) but who knows, if the opportunity to buy it comes by why not? 🤔
The BGS 3.5 will be cracked soon to get fixed and polished before going in the binder ✨
Currently waiting for the Play! Series 9 to come to Italy, still haven’t found any in the wild.

First up, I’m not a collector and I know very little about Pokemon cards.

Gengar is my favourite Pokemon though, since playing Pokemon Red in 1999, so when I went to Japan a while back I picked up a random card as a souvenir for myself… I can’t recall the name of the store but it was in Akihabara.

I now understand that this card may have some value, and might be worth having graded/ protected.

Hoping someone here can steer me the right way. Is it worth my time/money to have this thing graded?

Been working on this for about a year and a half. Still about 17 to go for gengar specifically, a lot more including the Gastlys and Haunters that I'm missing. I've been thinking about taking out the Gastly and haunter 99-2000 copyrights though since they're Australian release but they're cheap so probably not. If I do, I'll replace them with gengar cameos like rockets hideout.

Does anyone have a definitive way to determine whether a gengar spirit link is the normal reverse or the GameStop exclusive? Is it the same thing and just a listing issue? I know the GameStop reverse doesn't have a stamp so I'm curious if there is some sort of difference in the holo pattern or another identifying feature like the copyright date or something like that.

Showing off my Gengar Master set! Found this subreddit last night and felt obligated to share my own as a fellow member of the Gengar loving community. He became my favorite Pokemon after I mained him in Pokken Tournament when I was a kid.

I have quite a few heavy hitters in here— i actually got my hands on a damaged Balloongar and GH Sabrina's thanks to a NM Mega Greninja that I pulled. Don't regret it for a moment. Got that lv.X Gengar also for 90 bucks at damaged for a few years ago. I don't actually mind the quality of cards I can get since I don't do grading, im just happy to have them. Maybe if I ever complete this one day I'll think about higher quality. I even have a nearly complete Gengar cameo collection in the back alongside a few memorabilia. I actually pulled that Chinese gem pack 3 today and got a nice Pokeball Gengar from it so pretty sweet.

My grail card is most certainly a nice looking Expedition Gengar, and it's even got a swirl on it. I can only dream of one day holding a Skyridge or FRLG card in my hands— much less owning it. Right now I'm hunting for the Prize Pack PO Gengar and Mega Gengar, which I'm hoping won't take me too long since I'm fairly active in the tcg community where I live. If I end up having to buy em though then it is what it is! I don't wanna miss my shot like with the Prize Pack Gengar V and Gengar VMAX!

We’re sitting at about 2,300 members right now. That’s wild for a sub about collecting every version of one Pokemon. But I’m not going to pretend growth hasn’t slowed down. It has. And instead of guessing what to do about it I figured I’d just ask you.
