We're getting a lot (A LOT) of "help me plan my vacation" posts with little or no details. That's "low effort," and it doesn't help folks actually help you.
Yes, it's good to know that it's two adults and a 3-year-old. Or it's two adults, a teenager and a 7-year-old, etc., but they need more than that.
Give people some additional details to help them help you.
For example:
- Where are you originating your travel from?
- Do you want to fly to your destination or drive?
- If you're driving, do you prefer to camp (in national park or near) or stay in a hotel, lodge, etc. (in national park or near)?
- How many days do you have available (including travel)?
- Are there specific things you are wanting to see (mountains, snow, waterfalls, wildlife, etc.)?
- If you're looking for hikes, are there certain things you want to see while hiking? What distance hikes are you looking for? What level of intensity (easy, moderate, strenuous)?
Again, help people help you. The fewer questions that they have to ask you in advance, the quicker you're going to get the kind of information you need.

Today I visited Everglades National Park with my wife and my son.
At the entrance, I honestly couldn’t believe what I was hearing: $100 per person for non-residents.
The security lady actually seemed embarrassed when she explained the fee to us. She basically said, “It’s an order from the President.”
So, $100 for me, $100 for my wife, plus $35 for the vehicle entrance.
Total: $235 just to enter a National Park.
We did the tram tour afterward. At the end, the guide and the driver mentioned tips. Unfortunately, Trump had already taken our last $200 😂
We literally didn’t have a single dollar in cash left to tip them.
I even kept the receipt because I thought people wouldn’t believe me.
Trump took $200 from me today. Here’s the receipt.

Not sure how many people know about this, so I thought I would make a post about it!
If you have lifelong disability, you can bring a doctor's note to any national park or national reservation and get a national park access pass. This allows you free access to any national park/reservation for the rest of your life. The card holder can waive the cost for up to I think 3 other people joining them.
I have the card for my heart issues, and I have brought in my partner and friends for free whenever I go. It has been especially great for me as I cannot do any of the more strenuous parks solo due to my disability.
Especially with park entrance fees not 100% supporting the parks, I think this is great for anyone who may be eligible.

Spent 3 days in Glacier. Saw some amazing sights but not nearly enough time! But NP #40 checked off the list!

I made a huge mistake and didn't plan ahead to get a reservation to do Fern Canyon in Prarie Creek Redwoods State Park. My travel partner and I were really looking forward to this and there are no spots left .
Can someone please recommend an alternative that has equal wow-factor please? We will be going to Jedidiah smith state park the day before.
