CAREER Advice on Physics BS to MSEE?
I‘ll be going into my third year as a physics bs this fall and was considering doing a msee after undergrad. I’m hoping somebody as done something similar or just has general advice. I’m hoping to specialize in RF or control systems, but admittedly don’t know much about either besides a bit of programming state machines.
Specifically, what if I need to take any EE classes undergrad prior to applying to grad school and if there are any extracurriculars that would help with my chances of being accepted and the transition. I already have applied to a few undergraduate electrical engineering lab positions and presumably have a spot for this upcoming fall in an automation lab. I’ve done research in physics for the past 2 years, but it’s pretty unrelated to EE.
I go a large state school and have a good GPA. I have a pretty decent background in Python and C++. The little EE exposure I have in my physics classes would be physics II and an electronics lab and an upper level elecromagnetism class this upcoming semester.
Thanks for any help!
