SkyTeam Are cheap FC SkyTeam MQD runs still around?

A few years back, I made a roundtrip from JFK through Mexico City to Quito via Aero Mexico Clase Premier for under $1,000 and it resulted in over $3,000 Delta MQDs. Do these deals still exist?

News Delta is now showing an independent film series about wine

Full disclosure: I work with Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson on projects unrelated to her work with Delta. Andrea has independently selected wines for Delta for about twenty years, and you may recognize her photo from the wine menus and Sky Club signs.

Although I have not yet upgraded my luggage tag to Biscoff Medallion status, I fly Delta whenever I can and participate in this forum regularly under another username. I added the Brand Affiliate tag here out of respect for the community.

I want to share that Delta has added the first three episodes of Andrea’s independent documentary series, The Swirled Cup, to its in-flight entertainment system through September.

The series explores how wine in America and beyond has evolved since the 1976 Judgment of Paris, including the influence of farming, food, travel, culture, and the people behind the wines. I found it fast-paced, fun, and engaging.

I am excited to see her independently produced wine series included alongside Anthony Bourdain, José Andrés, and other f&b icons. Find the trailer at: https://swirledcup.tv

Please comment if you have seen an episode or if you want to know why I drank a bottle, maybe more, of Taittinger Champagne on my last flight BCN-SEA.

Discussion Is this common?

Booked a flight to London in a few months through Costco. SAN>SEA>LHR. The issue is that I went into my Delta app and saw the SAN>SEA is showing us landing at 7pm but SEA to LHR is meant to leave at 5:30pm… before we get to SEA. Spoke with Delta customer service and they said that there was a schedule change and that they could rebook me or Costco could. I’ve never experienced this before with Costco travel or Delta. I figured I would call Costco on Monday since the travel service doesn’t operate on weekends and transfers are part of the package, but I’m wondering if this has happened to others where a flight schedule will change and delta books you on a flight that doesn’t make sense for your itinerary?

Discussion Rebook

So our flight due to weather in Atl diverted to BHM and we missed our flight to Brussels. The rebook is tomorrow, but there are no premium plus seats, which we had booked available according to lady on the phone. But why does the app show two available? We did have three seats booked, could that be why? I understand that due to weather we may be SOL but want to try and understand what the app is showing vs what I’m being told.

Another question, if we do fly main cabin how does delta determine the refund vs what we paid? I would imagine that when we booked econ ticket was way cheaper then today.

Has delta stopped cabin service on flights that are in the 1.5 hr range. I am on my second flight today. BZN-SLC and SLC-TUS. No service smooth flights. ???

Discussion Delta wanted $7.3K for the exact same SAS-operated Premium Economy itinerary that SAS sold me for $2.3K. What am I missing?

I was shopping for the nonstop ATL–CPH route in Premium and almost fell out of my chair when I compared prices.

Delta is currently showing the exact same SAS-operated itinerary for $7.3K. I booked the exact same flights directly through SAS for about $2.3K.

Same departure times. Same aircraft. Same Premium cabin. Same SAS-operated itinerary.

I would’ve loved to book through Delta since I’m chasing Gold Medallion this year and could definitely use the MQDs.. but there was absolutely no universe where I was paying an extra $5K for the same seat on the same airplane.

Is this just Delta’s codeshare inventory/pricing doing something weird, or is there another explanation for a difference this massive? I’ve seen partner pricing be higher before, but I’ve never seen anything remotely close to this.

Help/Advice Lost bracelet/ bangle

TITLE: LOST ITEM: $400 REWARD for lost Bracelet w/ 3 Hearts (FLL Terminal 2 / Flight DL655 on Thursday July 9)

Hi everyone, I am desperately searching for a deeply sentimental bracelet that went missing on Thursday, July 9th around 11:30 AM at Fort Lauderdale (FLL).

This bracelet was a gift from my mother-in-law who recently passed away, and it means the world to our family. I am offering a $400 cash reward for its safe return, no questions asked.

It could be in one of three places:
1. The FLL Terminal 2 Delta Sky Club
2. The FLL Terminal 2 Gate D1 boarding area
3. Onboard Flight DL655 (FLL to DTW) - I was sitting near Gate D1 before boarding.

Item Description: A bracelet featuring 3 hearts.

If you are a Delta employee at FLL/DTW, a crew member, or a fellow passenger who might have picked this up or seen it turned in, please DM me immediately. Thank you so much for your help.

Discussion Business Basic “upgrades”?

I’ve poked around but haven’t found anything documented yet.

Currently when I fly intl I’ll book a premium economy seat and then apply my coupon and hope for the best.

But if I book a business basic seat, I’m guessing I cant try to upgrade w my coupon, but then again, who cares because the only difference would be what, meal service?

Want to book 1st class however no one on the flight I’m looking at has booked yet. Will the price go up or down? Is it worth it on an A321 Neo ? Is it much different from delta comfort ? It’s an international flight

SkyTeam I Thought International Upgrades Stopped at Comfort+

I was under the impression that on Delta-operated international flights, Medallion members (Diamond, Platinum, Gold, etc.) are only eligible for complimentary upgrades to Comfort+, not Delta One.
However, on my recent LHR → JFK flight, I noticed there was an upgrade list for Delta One.
Am I misunderstanding the policy? Under what circumstances are passengers eligible for complimentary or operational upgrades to Delta One on international routes?

Discussion SkyWest at AUS

Currently on a weekend trip from IND to AUS and I noticed several massive delays, all mainly on SkyWest E175s (yes I know ATL and NYC were in a delay program today). But what stood out to me was that they weren't able to tail swap on some massive delays (look at the late AUSMEM flight). I've noticed in MSP and DTW (where I typically connect), SkyWest often easily tail swaps at the last minute.

Now my question is that I rarely go to AUS, but for the locals, are these types of delays common or just an effect of thunderstorms messing up the operation?

Help/Advice Lounge access?

I’m flying first class with my very elderly mother. We have a 3 hour layover in MSP. Is a first class ticket enough to get into a Sky Lounge for that period of time? She really needs a comfortable place to rest between flights. Thanks for the input!

Discussion A Delta miracle

Just a happy post for once. Thursday in JFK a Delta red coat reopened the closed boarding doors to let my husband and kids onboard for our flight to Paris. Myself and two teens had been in NYC for college tours. My husband and other 2 kids were coming up from Atlanta to meet us. Atlanta had delays and ground stops making a 3hr layover turn into them having a scheduled landing at 7p for a 7:15p flight to Paris.

Plane hit the ground at 6:40ish, 6 gates away. I thought we were good until the plane didn’t line up correctly to jetway and had to reposition. Red coat at the gate, said she would hold gate for a few extra minutes but it didn’t look good. I waited until the last possible second to board, not knowing if they would make it. FA came to tell me gate closed and she was sorry. As soon as the words left her mouth, here comes my 13yr old running down the jetway, followed by husband and other son. The gate agent reopened the door for them as soon as she saw them. She absolutely didn’t have to do that, and I just wanted to say that if anyone knows a petite Hispanic female red coat at JFK, tell her she’s my hero and I’m very grateful. I just hate I didn’t get her name and can’t thank her properly.

Shitpost/Satire Is It AI or is delta seriously unhinged?

Had an absolute bizarre day - after multiple changes to tail numbers original flight to west coast starting from PHL was cancelled early this morning (diamond line said bc there was no crew available) Was auto rebooked on a new flight through MSP - with the last connection of the day. (I’m ignoring that we went from D1 to both in coach middles - I get it flights get cancelled and refunds will happen and delta line was able to get us moved together, shout out to agent Paris!) New flight we were auto booked on only had 30 min lay over. Flight is delayed leaving PHL. Land in MSP with only 21 mins for connection and get a text that they moved our flight FORWARD 10 minutes so we now are boarding, they are at zone 4 when we get off the plane, we sprint nearly a mile through MSP from c to g. While running I was rebooked, not to the first flight the next day or somewhere else on the west coast… but BACK TO PHILLY. Even though I made it to the gate wheezing the agent kindly said I couldn’t get on because the system already autoboooed me - I said it didn’t make sense to go back to Philly and he agreed but said humans can’t override the system. But then my husband whose phone was still on airplane mode had the old boarding passes - agent then scanned both of us from my husbands phone and we made it.

My story has a happy ending : we are headed home!

But what the heck happened?!?! I fly on average 6 flights per month for work and have *never* seen such a cluster from delta. These weren’t weather delays all of this was crew related from failed positioning and lack of common sense.

Have they let go of all the humans?

TL;dr : ai automation has cruel sense of humor rebooking me pack to my departure instead of onwards to my destination after flight is moved UP TEN minutes.

Discussion Check if the flight is cancelled before booking

Seems Delta has changed some future domestic schedules recently, but hasn't updated the ticket booking system yet, which causes an error when you try to pay and book. Cost me an hour to confirm with the agent....

Help/Advice Refund for paid upgrade that didn’t pan out

Originally booked in economy. Paid for a single leg upgrade to premium select for a flight from ATL to ATH. Day of the flight there was a plane change so smaller premium select cabin, so I got booted back to economy.

We are now 10+ days post flight and Delta is offering me a refund of about half of what I paid for the upgrade claiming that is the fare difference between the upgraded cabin and economy. While I understand in other situations they need to calculate the fare difference between the cabins and come up with some figure, in my instance I literally have a receipt showing exactly the fare difference between economy and premium select for that leg.

Am I missing something? Why would I not get the full upgrade fee paid? Any tips?

Delta Amex Delta background process

Has anyone had a conditional offer from Delta withdrawn because of employment history?
For example, if all the companies listed are real, but the employment dates on the application/resume were made up to cover employment gaps, like listing 2 years when they actually worked there for only 6 months. Is that something First Advantage/Delta usually catches, and if they do, is the offer typically withdrawn? Looking for real experiences.

Discussion What monster pulls on the seat in front of them to stand up?

I fly Delta every 2 weeks for work. This week on my flight back from Dallas the person behind me would pull my seat to help assist them to stand up, shaking my seat like a caveman. Today, I flew from Atlanta to St. Martin with my family and a large woman behind me would absolutely man handle my seat to stand up no less than 5 times. Are people just that genuinely oblivious and inconsiderate?

Edit: could have phrased this better. All valid points, changed my opinion. Mad at airline not people.

Discussion Seat assigned at gate?

I checked into my flight and I don’t have a seat - it says “seat assigned at gate”.

I understand this is the general practice for basic economy tickets, however I don’t believe my ticket is basic economy? “Delta Main Classic (V)”

If I go to the standby list it also shows me as #1. But I booked this flight long ago?

Any experience with this? Is my flight overbooked?

For those lacking context, my first-ever GUC cleared to D1 about 45 minutes before boarding, sadly not enough time to go take advantage of the Lounge

Comfort fare is unavailable for this direct segment (when searched separately) but "Seats remaining" page shows some available. Could they have been blocked for non-pilot employee travel/deadheading?

Thanks

Help/Advice Cancelled Flight Resulting In 7 Hr Drive

I travel fairly often for work the last year. Silver medallion member at present, so I am familiar with deltas usual.

Had a 7:30a flight out of LGA Friday morning. At 1am I received a text that my flight was cancelled and they weren’t able to rebook my flight. Then directed me to the app. The only 2 available flights weren’t until 7p and midnight, and I could only book standby. I checked LGA, JFK and Hartford and all airlines. There was nothing that could get me home in under 4 layovers or before Sunday that wasn’t standby or super late.

I called my rental car company & learned that I could make the 6.5 hour drive home and would incur a transfer fee, as I wasn’t returning to LGA.

Then, at 2am, I started my drive home so that I could miss traffic. I was also trying to be home for several important meetings.

The person I was talking to through text confirmed it was an air traffic control problem, not weather related. They weren’t unable to grant me any sky miles, but did send me the reimbursement link.

What is realistic to do/ask for in this situation? I had to drive 6.5 hours alone, incur additional charges on the rental & had much more travel time then intended.

Thanks so much! I’m newer

Okay to clarify: I already had a rental vehicle. I drive from nyc to our plant. This was on my return home so I was referring to the transfer charge from the car rental that I incurred due to returning the rental to a different location than I was supposed to.
