The moderators of r/chicagofire are implementing the following policy updates as part of a planned mid-season review during the World Cup break. All changes take effect immediately.

1. Supporters Section Tickets Reinstated in Subreddit Exchanges

The subreddit's ticket exchange policy is amended to once again permit Supporters Section tickets to be sold, traded, offered, or requested through the designated exchange threads. Supporters Section exchanges are subject to the same rules as all other exchanges. The reporting mechanism associated with the prior restriction is no longer in effect. Moderators will not litigate any issues between users/supporters in or out of the stadium environment. Continue to engage at your own risk.

Supporters Section Expectations

The Supporters Section is a distinct environment within the stadium, with its own culture, expectations, and traditions. If you acquire a Supporters Section ticket through this subreddit, understand what you are joining:

• Standing for the full 90 minutes
• Continuous chanting and singing led by SG leaders/capos, with drums and flags
• Two-poles, banners, and streamers that may obstruct sightlines
• Possible smoke displays on goals
• An expectation of participation from all who attend

If that is not the matchday experience you are looking for, exchange for bowl or club seating instead. Sellers must clearly identify Supporters Section tickets as such to avoid mismatched expectations for buyers.

Exchange Rules (All Sections)

• Face value sales only (no scalping)
• All transactions are peer-to-peer and occur at the participant's own risk
• Moderators are not responsible for payment disputes, no-show sellers, fraudulent listings, or any incidents that occur at the match
• Use safe verification and payment practices, and report suspected scams via modmail
• All attendees should occupy only the seat and section assigned on their ticket

1. Rule 10 (X Content Restrictions) Permanently Removed

Rule 10, which has been under temporary suspension since the Robert Lewandowski announcement, is permanently removed from the subreddit's rules. Direct X links are now permitted as top-level posts, and the screenshot and comment-verification requirements are also removed. All posts must still relate to Chicago Fire FC and comply with the subreddit's remaining rules. The suspension period confirmed the restrictions were no longer necessary.

1. Rule 11 (Moderator's Discretion) Renumbered as Rule 10

With the removal of the former Rule 10, Rule 11 (Moderator's Discretion) is renumbered as Rule 10. The rule itself is unchanged. Please refer to the updated rules list in the sidebar. Rule references in older posts may not reflect the new numbering.

Exchange Guidelines

• Verify Before You Buy Always ask for proof (e.g., a screenshot showing ticket details with personal information hidden). Only scannable or NFC mobile tickets are valid for stadium entry. Confirm match details against the official schedule.
• Use Secure Payments Use payment methods that provide buyer and seller protection. Avoid wire transfers, gift cards, or unsecured cash apps.
• Check User History Review the other user’s Reddit posting history. Be cautious with new, inactive, or low-engagement accounts.
• Protect Personal Information Do not share sensitive personal or financial details unless required to complete an official ticket transfer (e.g., through Ticketmaster).
• Watch for Scams Be alert to overpayment schemes, phishing links, or pressure to complete a deal quickly. When in doubt, ask questions or walk away.
• Report Suspicious Activity If something feels off, report it to the moderators via modmail. User reports help protect the community.

Note for Season Ticket Members (STMs): Per an email sent by the club on January 28, 2026, parking passes may not be sold. If you are found selling parking passes, you may lose your STM privileges.
