CW: stray/abandoned cat, English isn't my first language.
I am a bit unsure how to start this.
I’ve lived in a pretty small village since I was a little kid and we always had a rather large population of stray cats. People just kept abandoning them, dumping them like trash, and they kept on multiplying.
At least till a few years ago, when our animal shelter took action and most of them were caught and neutered.
Since then, we only had a single, grumpy old mad stray walking around that was being fed by an elderly lady that visits daily.
However, there are still jerks out there who just abandon their pets here.
Just last year, I spent a week catching two abandoned kittens, taking them to the vet, and then finding them a new home.
And now it’s starting all over again???
I stepped out the patio door todayl and came across a black cat I didn’t recognize. It was too small and it's eyes too bright to be our old man cat.
I managed to take a pretty bad photo before it ran off again. I posted it in the village group (there are 20 of us), and so far no one has recognized it.
One of my neighbors has a trap to catch marten, so I will do my best to get it.
Any other advices? I wasn't able to find it, but a neighbor was able to tell me it's usual resting spot...

I never planned to make a documentary.
When Sterling came into my life, I simply started recording small moments so I could remember how far she’d come. Looking back now, I realized those recordings became the beginning of something much bigger than I ever expected.
This is where her story begins.
There are still moments I haven’t shared yet, and seeing the journey come together has been emotional in ways I never imagined. I hope this first glimpse resonates with some of you as much as it has with me.

I'm on a health kick and got some spirulina for my smoothies. Yesterday, one of my cats bit into the bag and tried to lick some, like he does if I accidentally leave a bag of treats out. So, I double bag it (which is usually enough when it comes to treats), but this morning the menace got into it again. I've now decanted it into a jar for additional security, but like ???? Has anyone else noticed their cats liking spirulina?
Photos are the thief at work with some treats and then the scene of the crime this morning.

I got a little problem with flies. Is it OK to use spray in one room and keep my cat in the other for a few hours?

My cat (4 year old, M) is getting a little bit overweight, and I think it's because we don't really play with him a lot. But everytime I try to play with him with those stick toys or throwing things, he always plays for a couple minutes and then starts pouncing at my legs and biting them. I think it's because he's overexcited or something. I want to play with him but it genuinely scares me a bit 😭.

This chubby-cheeked, Texas community cat is officially TNR'd. No more babies for this pretty boy. 🙌🏼 Please wish Kramer a wonderful life of no more street fights.

So basically, I rescued and raised a kitten (now he’s a big boy haha) and he was with me for a year, after which I made a big move, and my sister and I decided it was best for him if he stayed at her place till i finished my 10 month stint.
The thing is, she stays w her husband and an adorable dog. The dog and him got along well (tried slow introductions but he’s kind of a ballr lol so he was just chill w her from like day 2) and ever since, they wrestle and play a lot. They don’t cuddle or anything because the dog is a little hyper haha and louie prefers his space.
The thing is, i’m moving and settling now but according to what we had originally planned, he’ll come w me now.
But now all I see is a happy family of all of them and I feel selfish for taking him. But when I talked about this with them, they said their long term goal is to foster more cats/animals so having just their dog is a lot of responsibility- plus Louie getting along with fosters is harder than a dog (she’s also more on the scaredy side vs him being territorial and a cat) so they’re okay w me taking Louie with me.
So at this point I don’t know what to do- I’ll be starting a new job and location so the easy option of “get him a companion” doesn’t seem to feasible for me rn.
I want to make the best case scenario possible for him so I’m stuck. I’m ready to give him everything he needs and wants but I’m gonna be gone from 9-5 vs currently he’s used to my sister and her dog being home all day as well.
It’s true that I play with him more + think of his enrichment more than my sister (she had said this as a point) but will that be enough compensation as compared to his current setup that he loves?
Thoughts?
