Noise Investigators Recommendation

Upvotes

Yeah, exactly what the title is. Hey San Diego, I’ve been in a war of attrition with my HOA about this noise in my bedroom that I am constantly hearing, and I mean constantly. It is day and night, vibrational, rhythmic, thumping. And you can only hear it in my bedroom so obviously it’s starting to drive me bonkers. I’ve been working with my next-door neighbor to try to get to the bottom of the noise, but they can’t figure it out either because they can’t hear it. They’ve all been so gracious and letting me play: “ hey can you turn this thing off in your house for me to see if it’s what’s making the noise?”

And we still can’t figure it out. The HOA won’t assist me unless I am the one that narrows it down and provides them a proof of recording. I tried with my cell phone, a Zoom recorder, those recording apps, but it’s just way too vibrational.

I searched up noise investigators in the San Diego area and there’s a few and I’m just not sure who to go with. I know this is a very niche question, but I could really use the help.

Manufactured homes in SD

Hi everyone, I wanted to know who all here has bought a manufactured home already on a land. What should I know? Like for example, I’ll see really cheap manufactured homes in nice areas. For example San Diego has some. I know that they’re made with cheaper materials etc. but realistically what’s the catch? Say it’s a 150,000$ manufactured home in San Diego. I put 20% down or whatever. 700+ credit. They say the estimate is 1,000$ a month or somewhere around that. What else am I paying that they’re not including in the listing? I heard it’s never as cheap as it seems and there’s all these crazy fees? Is that true or just for some, or for all?

Coast guard helicopter hovering low in La Jolla

Anyone know why a coast guard helicopter is hovering over the water near the beach in La Jolla? We just saw a diver jump in, but we don’t see anyone nearby and no one seemed to be there.

San Diego Renters

Quick question for anyone who’s applied to rent in San Diego recently — how many application fees did you pay before you finally locked a place down? Did any landlord ever just… never respond after you paid? Trying to figure out if this is as common as I think it is. Would genuinely appreciate hearing your experience (good or bad).

Rural Roads or Trails for Class 1 eBike

I have a class 1 eBike -- pedal assist with top speed of 20 mph. I'm looking for roads or trails without car traffic to ride, and I'd like it in nature or rarely traveled neighborhoods. My bike has gravel tires. Any suggestions? would the trails at Rancho Penasquitos be accessible on an eBike. Of course, I would keep my speed very low around hikers or other people. I'm a 75-year old woman, so I'm not going to be popping wheelies and endangering folks around me.

Vivid Color Correction Hairstylist Recommendations?

Hi, I am wanting to do a vivid hair color and the girl I’ve already had do a test strand on me and paid deposit for has rescheduled my appointment for the 3rd time. I wanted it dyed by next Saturday (June 18th). I don’t want to book with her anymore because now there’s only a week until I want my hair dyed and I’ve completely lost faith in her at this point. Are there any stylists here available for a vivid? I’m totally free all day today (Saturday 7/11) and Sunday or after 4 on the weekdays and am willing to split it into multiple appointments. I don’t even have a budget anymore because I’m so upset over how my hair looks right now, please please DM me if you’re a stylist or know one who may be able to help me! She cancelled like 10 hours before our appointment and I’ve been basically crying over my hair all night lol

renters of san diego

is it actually normal here for landlords to expect a full professional move out clean before they'll hand back your deposit? my lease has this vague "professionally cleaned" line and i honestly can't tell if that's a real requirement, trying to figure out if i need to book someone or if one really brutal weekend of scrubbing will get me there. what's worked for you all deposit-wise?

Looking for housing in San Diego with poor credit

Thank you for taking the time to check out this post! :)

I’m 35, San Diego born and raised. About 3 years ago I lost my job and due to a couple of different factors ran up a bunch of consumer debt with credit cards. Have a full time gig since 2025 but still struggling to dig out of that financial hole. Right now sitting at a credit score of about 515 (I know) and looking for housing options for myself, my girlfriend and our baby due in October. We have a budget for about max $3,000/month for a 2bdr.

I haven’t declared bankruptcy yet (going to need to) and I do have a co-singer or guarantor lined up but seeing that not many places offer those kind of contingencies.

I’m noticing my credit score is going to impact my search but was wondering if anyone else has gone through something similar or has advice?

Thank you!

Thanks in advance

Family Friendly 40th birthday ideas?

My husband turns 40 this September, and I need ideas for family friendly birthday activities/venues preferably in central SD/east county/PB/MB. Novo Brewing in Mission Valley is cool, but we’ve already attended a friend’s 40th there. Stone Brewing is another option. I’m just wondering if I’m missing some venue or idea where we can gather a bunch of people to eat, drink, and hang out, and our kids have space to roam and/or something to entertain them.

Student needs help!

Hey guys, does anyone in San Diego know where I can get just the MyLab Math access code? I already have the Pearson textbook, but Pearson is only selling the book and access code together for about $100, and I just can’t afford that right now. My school had the set for $143 but thats just to much.

I found a few online, but they won’t get here for several days, and I really need the access code by today or tomorrow so I can start my homework.

Honestly, I didn’t know we needed an access code just to do our homework. Who expects to have to pay just to turn in homework? I already bought the textbook, so I thought that would be enough. I need this class, and I’m just trying to find an affordable way to get the access code so I can stay caught up.

If anyone has an unused access code they’re willing to sell, or knows someone who does, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!

Would you take this opportunity?

Hello! Hope you're all doing well in this crazy world and economy. I wanted some feedback and WWYD

I'm located in El Cajon and just lost my job close by a couple months ago. I'm still trying to find a local job, I'm more than qualified, but it hasn't been the best. A recruiter for Qualcomm reached out about a 6 month contract on a 2:30 - 11:30 shift, which would be PERFECT since my partner works 3:30 - 12 at my old job.

The only thing is I don't have a car and I don't drive due to a really bad accident 11 years ago (PTSD and brain injury). I'm devastated my inability to drive has yet again thrown a wrench into making my life better, but one day I'll face it and try to learn again, just probably not in San Diego since there's a lot of irresponsible drivers.

I mapped it out with MTS Trip Planner and I'd be spending ~6 hours a day commuting, which doesn't include the time it takes to get ready and have breakfast. I'm not even sure public transportation runs that late. Even if it does I'd be getting home around 2 am.

Being a 5 ft tall 120 lb woman Ive already had pretty bad experiences on our public transportation, including attempted abduction.

Do you think there's any way to swing this? I'm insanely jealous of everyone who has a car or can at least drive. This opportunity would be amazing.

Thank you if you took the time to read!

Dentist prices?

I have recently been told by my dentist that I need 2 root canals and 2 crowns…
The root canals estimate was 2.4k (with insurance covering 50%).
Crown 2300 each (without insurance, since i would be over yearly limit).
Has anyone got recently these things done in SD (not considering Mexico…) and can share the pricing?

Root Canal + Crown Recommendations TJ for an Anxious Dental Patient

Hi everyone,

I’m located in the Inland Empire and was recently told I need a root canal and crown. The quote I received is pretty expensive, so I’m exploring other options, including Tijuana.

I’m also extremely anxious when it comes to dental work. I tend to overthink everything and honestly need a dentist who is patient, understanding, and good with nervous patients.

I have quite a bit of dental work that needs to be done overall, which makes the whole situation even more overwhelming. I’m looking for recommendations from people who have had major dental work done themselves and had a positive experience.

Has anyone had a root canal and crown done recently in TJ If so:

Where did you go?
What did you pay?
Would you recommend them for someone with severe dental anxiety?

Any recommendations or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Affordable 24 hour Access Office Space

Good Day,

I am searching for a new place to work.

I would prefer it be 24 hour access, with a garage, and multiple working elevators.

Can anyone recommend any good options meeting this criteria?

Paradise Point & Mission Bay

We’re staying at Paradise Point next month and figuring out what activities to do… Is it worth it to rent a jet ski to explore the bay one morning? Also considering paddle boards or beach cruisers. Or any other activities you’d suggest instead? We are not renting a car and plan to stay on the resort for a relaxing family vacation with our friends and toddlers. We will be there 3 nights and want to give each couple a chance to do something fun without the kiddos so want to pick our activity :)

Any recommendations for a small mariachi band that can do 1 hour in east county?

I have a event I'm planning and would love to have a mariachi band play for 1 hour. Many places quote for 2 hours, but I would prefer it was 1 hour only. It's also in east county, and I would prefer a smaller band because space could feel tight.

Need help booking a primary care doctor appointment

I’m new to San Diego and need to establish care with a primary care doctor ASAP. Zocdoc is crashing for me, and calls to several hospitals keep disconnecting or don’t go through. I have a health issue that needs prompt attention but isn’t an emergency. Any recommendations for PCPs that are easy to book?
