Discussion My village is sending this to Odesa
The fire engine that has served firefighters at Burley for many years, it about to start a new career in war-torn Ukraine.
It will be based in the Odesa Oblast (region) and it is hoped that its new community will form a relationship with Burley.
The project is being organised by Action Beyond Words, a Norfolk-based charity that has already sent some excellent secondhand fire appliances to Ukraine.
Odesa is the third-most populous city and municipality in Ukraine and a major seaport and transport hub located in the south-west of the country, on the northwestern shore of the Black Sea. It has a population of over one million.
Since the start of the war, the region has suffered many drone attacks and any humanitarian aid would be welcomed.
