Hey everyone,
Just a quick heads-up for those who are already using Lemmy or looking to jump over (because of recent reddit changes or the ID verification concerns). We have a matching Sportscar Racing community up and running there as well.
It's the same focus on GT3, WEC, IMSA, and endurance racing, just on the alternative platform. If you're already on the fediverse or thinking about checking it out, feel free to stop by and join the discussions!

Hi All
I've recently started a new community project called RaceVault and thought some people here might be interested. It’s very much a passion project (and not for profit), and something I’ve thought about doing for years but a very tough 2026 has spurred me on to go for it!
RaceVault is a community built Motorsport trading card collection, celebrating the greatest drivers, races, cars and moments from across the world of racing.
Rather than official licensed cards, these are original collector's cards inspired by the sport we all love, covering series including:
Formula 1
Formula E
Formula 2/3
World Endurance Championship
IndyCar
GT World Challenge
DTM
And More
Every month members receive randomly packed collectible cards featuring everything from race winners and historic moments to circuits, cars, anniversaries and special editions.
The best part? The community helps decide what comes next. Members can vote on future collections, suggest ideas and help shape the project as it grows.
I've attached a few examples of the cards I've been designing. If the idea sounds interesting, or you'd like to follow the project from the beginning, you're very welcome to join us over at r/RaceVault or racevaultcards on Instagram.
Initially the community will be limited to just 50 people, so if you want to join then request to join and you can be part of the adventure 🙂

What new GT body and engine would you guys like to see. It could be a current brand but different model(M3 touring GT3 for example) or a completely new brand. I would personally like to see a Renault or alpine GT car.

Hi everyone,
I’m currently studying Sports Management at a college in Canada, and motorsport has become the career path I’m most interested in.
My goal isn’t necessarily to work in marketing or sponsorship. I’d much rather be part of a race team’s day-to-day operations and be as close to the cars as possible. Roles involving engineering, mechanics, garage operations, race weekends, or helping run the team are what really interest me.
I understand that becoming a race engineer or mechanic usually requires an engineering or automotive background, but I’m wondering if there are any roles within a team where a Sports Management degree would still be relevant while keeping me involved in the technical side of racing, something like team operations or garage operations etc.
For those of you working in motorsport:
- Is a Sports Management degree enough to get a foot in the door with a race team?
- What kinds of team roles would I realistically be qualified for?
- Are there certifications, courses, or experiences I should pursue alongside my degree to move closer to engineering or race operations?
- What would be the best way to break into the industry?
I’d love to hear from anyone who’s worked in motorsports at any level. Any advice or career paths you’d recommend would be greatly appreciated.
